AEW has officially added content to MAX. Haven't checked it out yet but it's there.

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Thought about subscribing to Max to check out AEW without ads, but the ad-free tier is $16.99, and I would be subscribing literally just for AEW. And I would bet money that that price will go up at least once in the calendar year. I'm just 100% done with watching TV with commercials, but it feels like a lot of streaming services are trying to price people out of the ad-free tiers and into the ad-supported ones.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Rumors yet again saying
Spoiler
Malakai Black
could be done with AEW. They've said the same before and it didn't happen so who knows.
But given how AEW has been handling guys who have WWE interest, I could just see them holding on to him as long as they can until his contract expires like they seem to be doing with Ricky, and what they have done with Fenix, but weren't able to do for as long with Penta.
They better use this theme

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Some rumors suggesting Britts time in AEW could be coming to an end.
What a crazy turn of events. She went from the "golden girl" to hated by the locker room and not even on tv anymore.
Goes to show just how important things that go on backstage matter just as much if not more than what happens on tv.
If its true, I wonder what happens here because she's apparently signed for a few more years, but next to Mercedes she's probably the highest paid woman on their roster, so would they really keep her on just for her contract length? Or does she just get stuck in ROH?
And if she does get let go, where does she wind up? Give up wrestling? Wind up in TNA? WWE/NXT? Or somewhere else?Last edited by Majingir; 01-20-2025, 09:31 AM.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
For someone who hasn't paid attention, whats happened?
I loved Baker. She and MJF were two of the very few reasond. I'd watch AEW but I had to cut something out and haven't watched or followed much.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
One of the more recent instances seems to be her making fun of MJFs girlfriend (saying she only got a job because of MJF) which he found out about and confronted her on.
Maybe unrelated or not, but her and Adam Cole also broke up recently and he moved back home so you never know what the reasoning was behind that either.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Speaking of releases...
Ricky Starks apparently requested his release from AEW.
Between him, Malakai, Fenix and apparently this Britt situation, what's going on in AEW with talent?
So many things AEW mocked WWE for 5 years ago, the roles seem to be reversed.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Tony Khan has become the man he was supposed to be the alternative too, he became what so many fans detested just before AEW launched in 2019. He's become everything that he criticized WWE about, most importantly he became Vince McMahon. I think this all goes back to Cody leaving, since then it's been a mess.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
There's also rumors of her having issues with Brandi Rhodes and that it played a role in Cody leaving(which I think Cody was on his way back no matter what) so even if she got released, would she end up in WWE? Would be quite interesting to see her in WWE and reports come out about how she's respected in the locker room and what not lol.

I'm sure at the very least if she's a FA they'll at least check in and see if in and out of the ring she's worth bringing in. Maybe it could be like CM Punk. You're now in a tighter run ship where there's less room to mess up or be childish so if you continue your old ways, you're not lasting long.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
They became the thing they were rebelling against in some ways. Slickly produced weekly TV, content just for sake of content, bizarre logic decisions as a result of too many shows each week/PPVs all year, huge holes in booking logic, etc. They still have more of an adult style in terms of in-ring and promos, but they became generic corporate wrestling on the whole. Throw on top of that the AEW style of dream matches that only the diehards care about.Comment
