That’s amazing. They didn’t even photoshop out the 2K logos.

            Re: AEW Discussion Thread

Cody Rhodes was denied the trademark for "Bash At The Beach" but was approved for "Battlebowl" & "Bunkhouse Stampede". Cody says they were trademarked as a way to keep things his father created in the family and not for AEW but we'll see about that.

Also interestingly Cody says that they will be booking 6 months to a year in advance with wiggle room if something were to catch on, or a certain talent gets over then they can change and go in a different direction.

Cody on how far in advance AEW is planning ahead creatively:

I’d say we have a pretty good bearing on 6 months to a year. Exactly that. Long form storytelling is great in every medium whether it is film or TV or whatever it may be to know and work backward. We’ve got a good, what would I call it, like a syllabus?

There’s a syllabus to what we’re going to do but one thing that Matt Jackson is really good about pointing out is some things just catch fire and one thing that we want to do differently than any other wrestling that’s out there is you can’t deny something when it catches. So if something catches, we’re going to push that, we’re going to promote that. If an individual catches, we’re going to push that, we’re going to promote that. And that all starts at Double or Nothing.”
Again, all they are missing is no blondes for their Women's Champions and they are aiming at doing the opposite of the WWE. Now I'm glad that they are thinking long term with their storylines, hopefully something comes of it with big payoffs at the end. Now at the same time, if someone catches on and changing direction may not be good in the beginning. How much would Mania 30 meant in the Daniel Bryan storyline if WWE just gave him the title prior to Mania 30? You gotta find a happy medium where the chase is as good as the end goal but also not hot shotting something and ruining your chance at a good storyline arc.

              Re: AEW Discussion Thread

Everything about AEW on paper sounds great, but as always it comes down to execution and if they really can build marketable talent and/or acquire established talent.

Saturday will be pretty much my first extended exposure of Omega and the Young Bucks, so I'm curious to judge for myself their ability to be top draws.

They should have long term planning.

Get whiteboards, have every star on boards, and map out their futures (with lots of wiggle room depending on what works and doesnt).

Every star at every moment should have direction. If they don't, then figure out why.

During Starrcast, Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler did a Q & A session, here's some highlights......
                      • Jim Ross promised to call the pay-per-view tomorrow night like a sporting event, this isn’t out of line with anything that the AEW team has said since starting the promotion.
                      • Jerry Lawler says he feels the business is too choreographed and they don’t feed off the energy of the audience anymore. He cited The Rock versus Hollywood Hogan at WrestleMania 18 as an example of what he prefers to see.
                      • Jerry Lawler says that Jim Carrey told both of JR and Jerry Lawler on the set of the 1999 Andy Kaufman biopic Man on the Moon that Hollywood values appearance over talent more often than not.
                      • Jim Ross promised to pursue Jerry Lawler on behalf of AEW once his contract with WWE expired.

Joey Janela did an interview today and said that he won't be doing indie dates once AEW starts on TV. That sucks, but he said he doesn't want to get hurt at an indie show and have it screw up that gig. I get it.

Oh god no, it better be as a agent/producer and not as a announcer.

I really hope it doesn't mean the end of his Spring Break shows.
