    Re: AEW Discussion Thread

FWIW, there are reports going around with people claiming that PAC's meet and greet at Starrcast has been cancelled. So can we get to the bottom of why? Because if it's because the Elite didn't want him around that weekend, how can they force an independent company to not work with a talent that's not under contract with them? Or was he really pulled from Double or Nothing because he had visa issues as has been rumored? If yes, why did AEW decide to go with a worked shoot storyline over just saying Pac had visa issues?

Because the internet would have made it something other than a Visa issue anyway.

I have heard nothing about it being a visa issue outside of this thread. It makes zero sense to cover up a visa issue by making people think they couldn't agree on a finish for a worked wrestling match. That's choosing being made to look foolish from a booking and talent relations standpoint over being the victim of the same visa problems that respected promotions like New Japan had to deal with.

PAC was supposed to win the match against Page and then face Omega. The problem was with him being unwilling to lose to Omega.

And it makes zero sense for PAC's meet and greet to be refunded unless a. AEW and Starrcast are affiliated with each which is contrary to everything that has been said so far. And The Elite told them to pull PAC from Starrcast because they didn't want him around for whatever reason. Or b. he has visa issues.

You don’t know how much I want it to be 3 or 4 hours just for the irony.

We all know the real reason you are crapping on AEW so much. You're afraid of them putting you out of business.

In all seriousness I’ve tried to not **** on it because I think more wrestling is always a good thing.

But when they do stuff like pretend they’re the anti WWE and then feature Jericho and Goldust heavily in their first PPV, which is priced very aggressively and being delivered on a crappy service for those of us who cut the cord already it’s tough.

Then you toss in dudes like Neville not wanting to do certain jobs....it’s easy to take shots.

It was announced that the winner of the Casino Battle Royal and the winner of the Omega/Jericho match will face each other at a future event for the AEW Championship.

                            Re: AEW Discussion Thread

The negativity is gonna happen. Every wrestling promotion with any exposure gets it. And throw in the fact that WWE fans now have a promotion to really go after to get back at the negativity they've faced for years and years years. It's gonna be the Pythagorean theorum of trolling and attitude all over the place.

And trust me, I get looking at AEW and sensing this patronizing attitude, along with people defending every last thing they do. It's like when I listen to people go on and on about how amazing and perfect NXT is. Or people going overboard praising anything NJPW (which I actually enjoy). It gets annoying if you're not into it as much.

I'll probably end up enjoying AEW because I like the talent involved, but that's my bias. Honestly I prefer the smaller indie shows more these days. Black Label Pro, Bar Wrestling, PWG, Beyond Wrestling, etc.

And the patronizing attitude isn't coming from just the fans, it's coming from people inside the company as well from what I've read online. Today on the final "Road to Double or Nothing" show Brandi said, "I feel like if you aren't satisfied by the end of Double or Nothing, you aren't a wrestling fan". I don't know the full context behind the quote just that one sentence as I haven't seen/heard the audio. But, come one just because I didn't like what happened on your show so I'm suddenly not a wrestling fan?

I feel like that's said a fair amount all around.

If some big play happens in a sports game, sometimes you'd get the "If you dont like that, you dont like NBA Basketball.".

Line probably just meant "If this show doesn't make you happy, you won't like our wrestling show"
