Re: AEW Discussion Thread
And again, that was a fake storyline not based on anything in real life. A consistent example would be if Dustin was really gay and they made a storyline with Dustin as a gay heel, which would be frowned upon.NFL- Green Bay Packers

Re: AEW Discussion Thread
WWE has gotten heat for stuff like that in past.
Remember Steph comparing Vince to 9/11?
Vince making fun of JRs health problems and his surgery.
Abraham Washington got suspended and eventually fired(when in damage control) for making comments about the Kobe Bryant scandal.
Paul Heyman making fun of Jerry Lawlers heart attack.
WWE is a scripted show, but those real life comments dont often go well.Comment

Re: AEW Discussion Thread
I don't know, it was pretty much dead by the time Austin vs McMahon started and that feud was as over as any feud they've ever done. If guys would just stay off of social media and podcasts they wouldn't need to blur reality as much with their angles although at this point it would be hard to put the toothpaste back in the tube when it comes to kayfabeComment

Re: AEW Discussion Thread
Chris Jericho's post on FB 3 days ago is an example of how different it is today...he tried to play character and real life friend in the same post...it's kinda dumb.
What an amazing night at #DoubleOrNothing....That’s what wrestling is all about kids!! No doubt in my mind that Kenny Omega is the best performer in the world and Jon Moxley is the hottest talent in the business today! Huge things coming for @allelitewrestling and I’m happy to take credit for all of them..... (amazing pix by @wrightwayphoto )Comment

Re: AEW Discussion Thread
Even so, Moxley took issue with a line in one of his promos about Roman Reigns' real-life leukemia diagnosis in which he said that Reigns had to "answer to the man upstairs." Moxley said McMahon explained why the line was needed, and he proceeded to use it in his promo.
Ultimately, it didn't sit well with Moxley, who called it distasteful: "I cut the promo, and as soon as that line left my mouth, I went, 'Oh my God, I can't believe I just said that.'""I remember leaning on a road case and just feeling actual exhaustion. Just like emotional, physical, mental exhaustion. Not so much because of that day, but because of six of years of this. Six years of having to go into this man's office, this old man, and trying to explain to him why wearing a surgical mask is a stupid idea, why carrying a little red wagon to the ring is a stupid idea, why maiming a mannequin in the ring is a stupid idea. I was done."[/img]Comment

Re: AEW Discussion Thread
My issue is less with his Character. It wasn’t great but he had some funny moments. My issue is how god awful boring I found him in the ring.
