    Re: AEW Discussion Thread

AEW All Out Main Event has now been announced. Chris Jericho confirmed that in Chicago, it will be Hangman Page vs Chris Jericho in the Main Event for the AEW World Championship.

It’s going to be one of the biggest matches of my career, against one of the hardest hitting, most talented athletes I’ve seen in years. But get ready @hangmanadampage... school is about to be in session. @allelitewrestling".

I was debating whether to get tickets for Fight for The Fallen or All Out, and this makes my decision easier. I figured All Out would be the bigger show compared to Fight For The Fallen but to be there to see the crowning of their first champion, done deal.

Speaking of Jericho, he said that he's been contacted by other wwe stars about being on his podcast once they leave wwe in "__ MONTHS". Going Mox style.

I never knew guys who quit wwe dont get royalties. Or maybe theres something about it I didn't understand. Mox said he wanted to stay so he'd get all his royalties.

I wonder just how many within wwe are planning on leaving eventually. Who knows, Sasha could be first woman to jump ship. Why quit? Stay the course and collect the royalties. Quit and you have to wait 90 days.

Any big star at least. I'm assuming being released is similar to not renewing deal in terms of stuff like royalties.

Mox leaving is one where royalties are huge because Shield will forever be popular.

Dont think a guy like Spears leaving will really cost him much in royalties department.

But I wonder how royalties for wwe network works out. Wasn't that an issue with guys like Punk when he was leaving? How do you get money from your past work from the network if it's a subscription plan and not something like a DVD.

Yeah, someone like PAC probably isn't getting any royalties. Not that they get **** since the Network started anyways. Ricky Morton told a story one time about getting $10 one year for network royalties lol.

I got to the line about Roman's cancer bit.

Sounds like the line might have been during or after the segment where he got an injection to prevent catching fans diseases.

So you could probably figure where they'd end up going with the Reigns line.

Getting more in Mox interview, he basically admitted that.

                "We're giving you plan A"
                "I want plan B"
"Ok, we'll fix it up. Here's plan C."
                "That's just plan A again!"

                      Part of Moxely interview

For me, the experience creatively, the collaboration (pauses) I texted Cody and told him that when I was coming back from the ring to make sure he had a camera guy follow me to get a backstage promo in the hall. As I’m coming back from the ring, there’s a camera guy. Not a crew, there wasn’t a producer and a writer there too along with a boom mic guy. It was one guy following me down the hall with a camera and he points the camera at me, hits record and two minutes later, we have a promo. No writer, no fancy lighting. (Raises voice) Point the camera at me and press record! Done, two minutes. Did another thing with Joey Janela for The Young Bucks show. They had an idea, I said cool, added a little to it and three minutes later, we have another promo. They had another idea; three minutes later, we have a third promo. In ten minutes backstage at AEW, we knocked out three quality promos that would’ve taken a whole day in WWE. A ten second shot can take an hour with all the setup. If someone walks by, we would have to shoot it over. Everything’s got to be so perfect. If you were interviewing Phil Jackson at halftime of a basketball game and someone walked behind you, it doesn’t ruin the interview. He’s just a guy in the background. Its real sports. In AEW, I think we’re going to have a lot more of that feel. It might not be super pretty and slick. Sometimes I feel like WWE is so well produced that it takes me out of it.

                        Re: AEW Discussion Thread

The weird thing with these Moxley "SHOOT" interviews is his tone and some of the stuff he says doesn't correlate with what was said by a former WWE writer in an interview from a couple months when it comes to the creative input talent has. Kazeem Famuyide listed 3 different tiers of wrestlers. Guys who take what they were given, just run with it and make it their own without trying to make any changes to it with the writers. He called those assignments the Ambrose Special. Tier 2 is "ok I like where this is at but let's make a couple little tweaks here and there." Tier 3 is the guys you can't write for because they are so good on their own. Says it really came down to a team effort between the writers and talent. Examples he gave were Heyman, KO, and Sami. I imagine the truth lies somewhere in the middle of what Kaz and Dean have said just like with everything.

Now onto Ambrose's tone based off the transcripts I've heard. The Talk is Jericho interview comes off as a guy who was pissed off at and bitter with his job for the last 5 years and never wants to go work for his for employer ever again ala CM Punk's podcast with Colt Cabana. But then after reading the 2.5 hour one he did, a few days after the TIJ one, with Wade Keller at PWTorch he comes off as a guy that is much genuine and would be more than willing to head back to the WWE whenever his contract is up or if AEW folds in the next 3 years. Also he seemed to put over all of the right people that he would have to talk to about a return*. Just something odd that I noticed from these 2 interviews.

Reference to what Kaz said: https://twitter.com/ChrisMNovak/stat...95888599900167

*Note this doesn't include Vince because he would take anyone back as long as they would make him money. If Punker called him at 3am on a Sunday morning saying he wanted to show up on Raw tomorrow he would have a 15 minute segment planned out and a match vs whoever at Super Showdown.

I never got the feeling of bitterness from the Jericho podcast. He started out saying he was grateful for the opportunity they gave him and how his house and truck and his mothers house are all paid off because of WWE. He seemed like a guy that was unhappy while he was there after he came back from his injury and now he’s in a better place

He even said he hope's if anything, AEW could change the business and how wwe does stuff.

He's pointing out problems he sees in creative/with Vince, even saying how some of the writers basically agree with him and know they are just the messenger in some cases where they dont agree with stuff.

The money means nothing to him because he's paid off everything he's needed to. I'm sure most people here if they made enough money to sustain their lifestyle for decades to come, they wouldn't put up with stuff that makes them depressed.

His lifestyle isnt like a Bella where you need designer clothes every day and going out to expensive fancy restaurants. He even said it himself, he'd even have no problem just "hitting the open road" with renee in some truck or RV.

Listening to the Jericho podcast with Tony Khan. Really seems like a cool guy. Big time wrestling fan who has lots of money. Perfect combination to start company. Hopefully they can get the talent in and the proper stories as well because it seems like management will be great.

DoN didn't make me as excited about AEW, but listening to the direction Tony talks about, I'm excited about it.

Any past podcasts from Jericho people suggest listening to? I've never been a big podcast person, but starting to get into them.
