Irony there is that WCW basically just gave creative control to those big stars and that was part of what led to their downfall.

I saw an Omega interview where he was basically ripping WWEs offer, talking about how if he joined, he'd be starting from scratch and not get creative control over his character. Seems like WWE just thinks every problem can be solved by money.

It also sounds like Omega thinks he should have creative control which I feel like I’ve seen that idea ripped to shreds over the years on the internet when discussing WCW and their downfall.

I wouldn't ever give anyone the level of control where they can just "doesn't work for me, brother" an idea, but it seems like guys are a lot more handcuffed today. Guys shouldn't have to worry about getting an earful backstage because they said they wanted a title match in a promo when the script said they're supposed to say they want a title opportunity.

          I agree with that sentiment.

There should be a good balance between it though.

Give them control in terms of their character, storyline, promos and all that, but let the people higher up determine who wins/loses.

I don’t think they need control. I think they need input.

But the problem with input is that you might suggest things you've been thinking up forever just for them to be like "ya, we'll think about that" and just forget about it.

WWE says they hear their fans all the time, but hearing, listening and understanding are all different things.

I listened to the Ambrose interview and you can tell just how annoying everything is. I'm starting to see why so many stars are basically just going through the motions, competing in long matches with 0 purpose. That's the easy part. Trying to do anything with a character or story drives people insane because of all the stuff they have to put up with.

Reminds me of horrible customer service stories. Would you just put up with the stuff you got, or call them up, get redirected to 4 diff people before finally getting told to go in person to a store and have to spend more time trying to get stuff right? At some point you're just cant take that stuff and accept the easiest resolution and that's to just accept stuff how it is vs trying to get a possible better result.

There is a Forbes article talking about how they lapped WWE’s Money in the Bank PPV according to buyrate.

Reckon someone should tell Forbes that for $9.99 you can have all the PPVs? Cue Michael Cole to explain.

Is there anyone who even buys on PPV anymore? What would the reasoning even be to buy a WWE show on PPV over subscribing to the network? If you don't have unlimited internet usage, would $50 a month not be more than enough to add unlimited to your plan?

You live in the boonies/woods and have a **** internet connection so you can't rely on your phone, tablet, etc to not buffer constantly. Or look at the Tiger Woods vs Phil Mickelson match from last Thanksgiving. BR Live's streaming service was complete dog**** so they gave away the entire match for free and refunded those who bought it. There's 2 reasons right there to buy on traditional PPV over a streaming service.

My in-laws can’t get internet at their house because it’s out in the country. 5G internet might finally take care of the folks out in the sticks.

Why haven't they been able to get wwe network as a TV channel?

That's literally the only advantage about the network in Canada vs elsewhere. It's a channel here, same as HBO, MLB Network and all that.

Their on demand content sucks so badly here, but that's a diff story.

Offering network as TV channel that you can also access online would be nice.

Especially if they had tiers like they're planning. You could get the TV version with no online access for cheaper than other ways.

Maybe a better discussion for the WWE Network thread?

I'm sure the answer is financial though. Probably wanted more of a cut than cable providers were willing to give them or something.

MJF as a 5 year old on the Rosie O'Donnell show. Said he wanted to be an opera singer and a wrestler.

Aiden English owes him an apology for stealing his gimmick.
