Yeah because people take themselves too seriously. Wrestling Is a tv show. It’s not real.

      I'm fine with it.

What made the AE was that EVERYONE had a storyline, not the actual storylines. I don't want that TV-14 bull**** back in wrestling. You can make the product compelling for everyone and not be another episode of Jerry Springer.

Double or Nothing was PERFECT. That's the most that we should see any sort of cussing/raunchy/blood in their product.

I’d be curious to hear what the actual line was. Because in the world of professional wrestling, a world of good guys and bad guys, a line about Romans cancer seems fine to me.

Also in terms of him and the scripts he got. Rock is on record saying he didn’t really bust out till he started going off script and he accepted the consequences. If Dean really didn’t fear being fired and was so confident in his abilities...then do it. If it works what are they gonna do? Sounded more like a guy who couldn’t figure out how to play the game to me 🤷🏻*♂️

What is the worst thing that was in the AE? Feeding make believe dog meat to Al Snow? Glad that the Big Show's dad (who was already dead) was dead? Mae Young being make believe pregnant to give birth to a make believe hand?

I don't think any storyline that I remember about the Attitude Era focused on something in real life like Roman's cancer except Oklahoma in WCW. And it was frowned on then too. Dr. Hiney was too. So don't tell me "new cats too soft" garbage.

WWE has gotten heat for stuff like that in past.

Remember Steph comparing Vince to 9/11?

Vince making fun of JRs health problems and his surgery.

Abraham Washington got suspended and eventually fired(when in damage control) for making comments about the Kobe Bryant scandal.

Paul Heyman making fun of Jerry Lawlers heart attack.

WWE is a scripted show, but those real life comments dont often go well.

Making Trish get down on her hands and knees and bark like a dog.

Really anything involving a woman in AE was ****ing miserable.

Lol, you can't compare going off script now to going off script in 1998/1999. Raw is 1000x more produced now. It's like saying .. well it's easy to improvise during a standup show at a club, so it's just as easy to go off script in a $200M Disney movie. More moving parts and more people getting heat for it. And that's how WWE wants.

They had to issue an apology when Big Show ripped down a Russian flag during his feud with Rusev when Rusev was about as hot of a heel as I can remember in recent memory

That was a make believe storyline that was not based on a real life affliction.

I think his too soft comment was in response to guys being afraid to go off script. At least, that's how I took it.
