    Re: AEW Off-Topic

It's crazy to think Bobby Lashley was with the WWE at this point last year, getting ready to wrestle at WrestleMania 40 and now a year later he's one half of the AEW Tag Team Champion competing on a AEW PPV.

That has to be their next step. They're probably just waiting for someone to offer Peacock/Netflix like money.

If AEW gets 10m a year from PPV buys (I'm making up this number), then all it would take is some service like Prime Video, HBO or anyone else to come in and offer at least 10m a year for the AEW PPV rights on their service.

Guess Jericho disappears from TV a bit now that he's dropped the ROH World Title?

Going on 11PM and I think Moxley/Swerve is the only match left? Tony Khan needs to copy what WWE does and put some matches on the go home show before the PPV. Cole vs Garcia could have easily been on Dynamite or Collision.

On another note, I'm happy for Cole to finally win some gold in AEW.

Triple H completely dropped the ball with Bobby (and by extension the Street Profits until recently).

That dude should've figured into the world title picture and been a 'monster heel' going against Cody (after he beat Roman). Building Bobby up as a killer, world title level competitor was one of the best things late - stage Vince did.

LMAO at that finish.... that right there is why AEW hasn't regained any of their momentum. The Death Riders stuff needs to end and Tony insists on it continuing. The match broke down to your normal Bloodline match and Bucks return to cost Swerve... why?

Did anyone else see the video of Swerve after the PPV? Here is the link if y'all haven't:

Basically, he thanks the hometown crowd, acknowledges his family/children in the audience, says he 'might not get this chance again" (kayfabe), and finishes up by saying "**** Booker T."

I like Swerve a lot, want him to continue to succeed in AEW and think he'll get plenty of other opportunities. Still, continuing this ridiculous war of words with a legend like Booker T (especially over his experiences in WWE which will differ from your own) is stupid.

Let it go and help get over young, up-and-coming talent in AEW (regardless of race), so the business is better than how you came in.

                    Now getting to watch Dynasty.

Jericho/Bandido match went on way too long just to do that weird reverse finish on top of it all.

Women's matches were ok, Mercedes and Julia missed lots of easy spots, but I still want to see them in a feud.

Good main event, but Bucks had to come in and ruin it. But was Hangman going for Swerve or Mox?

Christian/Cope teaming up one last time will be special if it happens.

4.5 hour PPV for what wasn't even their biggest show of the year? These events do go way too long. Your show surpassed 3 hours with 2 big matches yet to happen, fans will lose interest.

The 02 in London has been announced as the location for Forbidden Door on Sunday August 24th. Also AEW will make their Scotland debut the Wednesday before on August 20th. Seems they had to wait to announce these until after WWE ran their shows in those arenas.

Just a rumor at this point, and we know how wrong these dirt sheets are, but one report I saw said Mariah May could be headed to WWE once her contracts up in the summer.

She'd obviously do real well in WWE. I think she'd be a better version of what they already have in someone like Tiffany (not a knock on Tiffany) and would thrive in that environment.

I think I heard something a year or so ago about there being some sort of clause where a venue can't advertise the other company until X days after the show (and/or might have been that they can't hold an event within a certain amount of days from the other company).

I remember they had Forbidden Door here in the same venue WWE was running Smackdown, less than 60 days apart. It might have been around that time that the "policy" started happening. Usually the venue will just have rolling ads on their screens advertising upcoming events, but obviously didn't since they'd be advertising Smackdown during an AEW show.

They also had Dynamite/Collision in a different venue here about 3 months after WWE had a house show. I think that one was allowed since it was almost 90 days apart.

Darby Allin so far is over 20000ft up on Mount Everest.

He's now also broken the world record for highest kick flip.

If this were the old days I'm just picturing Tony Hawk Pro Skater adding in Darby as a DLC and having a mount everest track.

AEW All Out coming to Toronto in September!

Tickets for sure will be a lot. I'm doing what I did during forbidden door week and wait for day of. Nothing beats $50 ringside seats for a TV event. Front row to see CM Punk, Jericho and Sting was cool.
