Minnesota showcased their resiliency with their second straight walk-off win.

The Twins have done it again. They've come back time and time again, but this has to be their best win yet. Minnesota is going up against a Rangers team that has one of the best pitching staffs and best offensive teams in all of baseball. However, the Twins wouldn't let that stop them in last night's 9-8 victory.
Vance Worley got into a lot of early trouble and would hit the showers after just three innings after allowing six runs (five earned) against the Rangers. Pedro Florimon would do so damage in the fifth with a two-run double to cut the lead to 6-2. In the sixth, the Twins had three straight hits to kick the inning off. Following the three straight hits, Trevor Plouffe would hit a grand slam to tie the game at six.
After three great innings from rookie, Ryan Pressly, Michael Tonkin came in to pitch the seventh inning. Tonkin would give up a run to the Rangers' lineup and the lead grew to 7-6. In the eighth, Casey Fiend would give up a run on a RBI-double by Adrian Beltre to stretch the lead to 8-6.
The resiliency of this team was certainly on display. After Ryan Doumit singled off of Joakim Soria, Aaron Hicks would hit a two-run home run off of Ramon Mendez to tie the game back up at eight. The ninth inning ended up being a wash after neither team could get something brewing.
Glen Perkins would come in to pitch the tenth inning for the Twins. After allowing two hits to lead off the inning, Perkins began to buckle down. Beltre would pop up to Morneau for an infield fly to get the first out of the inning. The second out of the inning was generated on a weak fly ball by Nelson Cruz hit to left field with no advancement from the runners. The final out of the inning was an AJ Pierzynski ground out.
With just two relievers left in the Rangers bullpen, they were trying to let Kirkman get through the tenth. That plan would eventually be spoiled by the Twins. Justin Morneau leadoff the inning with lead-off single into center field. After a wild pitch by Kirkman, Morneau would advance to second. Josh Willingham grounded out 6-3, but Morneau would move up to third base. Ryan Doumit stepped in with the infield in and one away. Doumit saw a first-pitch sinker over the plate that he drove on a line into right. Morneau would score on the play and the Twins walk-off for their 14th win on the season.
Minnesota and Texas still have three games left to play of this four-game series. The Twins have won back-to-back games for the first time since April 12th and 13th when they beat the Mets. Ron Gardenhire's club has walked off in consecutive games as they look to win their first series in their last three tries.
