Unfortunately, no. I did all of the roster work in the franchise its self by going to the games and taking notes on my phone to get exact equipment on all players, with realistic ratings. Since I'm a Pelican/Texas Rangers minor league insider, I get most of the information first on when transactions are about to happen for the Pelicans, and therefore I keep the rosters exact as well.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Texas Rangers beat Lake Elsinore for the second straight night as Joey Gallo knocked in 3 runs on a 3-run home run and catcher David Lyon drove in 2 on a 2-run home run.

Things got going early in the first inning, as lead-off man for the night Nick Williams roped a lead-off double, and one batter later, 1B for the night, Jorge Alfaro drove in Williams on a single to left. 1-0 Birds. 3B Joey Gallo then singled and with Alfaro on 2nd and Gallo on 1st, OF Zach Cone grounded to center field for an RBI single. 2-0 Birds.

In the top of the second, LE got themselves on the board with a deep run scoring single to left. 2-1 Birds.

The bottom of the third saw Myrtle Beach newcomer Jamie Jarmon hit a sac fly to score Joey Gallo and give Myrtle Beach the 3-1 lead.

Myrtle Beach starter "Chi-Chi" Gonzalez lasted 5 innings, allowing only one run on 6 hits, but once he left, relief pitcher Jose Leclerc walked in a run bringing the Storm back to within one. Leclerc worked his was out of further damage, however, as Lake Elsinore would leave the bases loaded only scoring the one run.

Myrtle Beach SS Hanser Alberto drove in OF Nick Williams on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the sixth. 4-2 Myrtle Beach.

Both teams would score in the 7th inning. Lake Elsinore got their run in the top half from a sac fly, once again making the game a 1-run ballgame. The 1-run lead wouldn't last long, as in the bottom half, Bird's catcher David Lyon homered to right, scoring RF Royce Bolinger. With two outs, 2B Christopher "Boom" Bostick walked, 1B Jorge Alfaro reached on an error and Joey Gallo did the rest with a 3-run homer. 9-3 Pelicans.

Lake Elsinore would make the score more respectable in the top of the 9th, picking up one run, but that's all they'd get as this night belonged to the home team Myrtle Beach Pelicans.

Myrtle Beach starting pitcher Victor Payano put up 10 strikeouts in 7 innings of shutout basesball for the Pelicans Sunday night

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Texas Rangers won a tight, one run contest at home, their third straight victory, against the Lake Elsinore Storm (San Diego) on Sunday evening.

In the first inning, the Pelicans would load the bases with one out and Zach Cone (DH) hit a sac fly to right to score 2B Christopher "Boom" Bostick who walked to get to first. 1-0 Myrtle Beach.

The Pelicans would add another run in the fifth inning. Chis Bostick lead off with a double, David Lyon (catcher) grounded to left for a single and Hanser Alberto (SS) lifted a ball to left field for an RBI single. 2-0 Birds.

Myrtle Beach loaded the bases again in the 8th inning but good bullpen work from the Lake Elsinore staff kept the Pelicans off the scoreboard from the 5th inning, on.

The ninth inning saw things get interesting. Myrtle Beach closer and 2013 Texas Rangers Minor League Relief Pitcher of The Year award winner Alex Claudio came in for the 9th inning to add to his league leading saves total. Things wouldn't go as planned. With one away, he ran a pitch in and hit a batter. Claudio recorded the next batter on a fielder's choice, but the Storm would get a clutch hit with two outs and a man on second to bring things to within one run, 2-1. Claudio then walked his next opponent and was pulled in favor of righty-reliever Jason Knapp. Knapp came right in and walked the first man he faced and eventually loaded the bases with two outs in the 9th, but got the game ending ground ball he desperately needed to seal the deal for the Pelicans.

I am curious are you going to try and play with just the real life rosters as transactions happen or are you going to allow yourself to sign fictional free agents? Like the possibility of having guy's from the boards create a player to join the Pelicans.

I am really liking the Single A action. I grew up in Boise watching the Boise Hawks which is Short Season Single A, the Spokane Indians are part of that league as well, so well I lived in Spokane for 8 years, I went to several games (typically anytime Boise came to town).

Saw some really good players over the years, first when the Boise Hawks were part of the Angeles farm system and later as they switched to the Cubs.

In Spokane got to see guy's like Mike Olt and J. Profar get their start.

            Keep up the great work.

Watching minor league ball is a ton of fun, isn't it? I like Spokane's team, for obvious reasons. They are feeders to my Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Heck, we've already had a few guys get called up to Myrtle Beach from Spokane this year alone.

The plan is to keep going with real life transactions. At this point, I've played about 6-10 more games than I have posted about, so the transactions are lagging slightly. For example, in real life the Rangers called up my star 3B and pitcher to AA Frisco just the other day. The move has been made in my game, so my current games that I'm playing, those two players aren't on the roster. However, since I'm behind, you're still seeing those players in my game recaps until I get caught up to the point of them getting called up in my franchise.

I'm glad you're enjoying all the action.

Kenny Powers to join coaching staff as Massey's assistant

                  By dylan.guy @dpatrickguy

                  Kenny Powers 1.jpg

Back in Myrtle Beach, Powers joins the Pelicans' coaching staff for the summer.

Per the team's official website, former Myrtle Beach pitcher, Kenny Powers, has rejoined the team as a "summer intern".

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Pelicans manager/VP of Operations C. Massey had this to say when asked about the addition of Kenny Powers to the staff: " I really liked Kenny. He was a great pitcher during his playing days. The signing made since, as he'll become my "go-to" man on a daily basis. I like his drive and love for the game. He already had a place in Myrtle Beach, and he came to me asking if there's anything he could do to help. I already knew him and put in a good word to General Manager Andy Milovich, and we came together on a deal. I'm excited to have the man, myth and living legend Kenny Powers be a part of my staff."

                  kenny.jpg

General Manager Andy Milovich had this to say on the addition of Powers: "I feel he's a great fit and his personality fits coach Massey well. He loves the Myrtle Beach area and loves baseball. I think giving him a temporary shot at Personal Assistant to the Manager is an excellent opportunity for all involved."

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Texas Rangers have hired a new coach to the staff. It's former Myrtle Beach closer from a few years ago, Kenny Powers. Kenny Held a press conference for himself just hours ago with microphone in hand, choosing to stand on top of the Pelican's Ballpark scoreboard in left-center field to a crowd of about 25 people. 10 or so were said to be employees who were working.

                    Kenny Press.jpg
Powers leaving the stadium after coming down from the scoreboard on Wednesday

Here's a small snippet of what he had to say (warning, as with all Kenny Powers posts, there could be suggestive language. If you are under the age of 18, I don't advise reading anything that comes out of Kenny's mouth)

"People of Myrtle Beach, I'm mother****in' back! Actually, I never left, I have a place right down the road. But anyway, Kenny Powers is ready to take the league by storm once again and I don't even have to pick up a baseball to do it. I'll be helping Mr. Massey manage this bad *** ball club to the best record in baseball. You all should be glad I'm here and I hope everyone is ready to have a bomb *** mother ****in' time in Myrtle ****in' Beach!" - Kenny Powers

He also unveiled this advertisement at the ballpark's entrance:

The Pelicans are excited to have Kenny Powers, and from the looks of it, Kenny Powers is even more excited to have the Pelicans.

Star 3B Joey Gallo plates the game winning run in the 13th inning

Pitching matchup: Myrtle Beach- Sam Wolff (1-2, 6.33), Stockton- Seth Striech (1-2, 7.59)

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Texas Rangers played in one of the most exciting games you will see this season.

The scoring started off in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Stockton got a lead-off double by star SS Addison Russell and a 2-run home run by 3B Ryon Healy. 2-0 Ports.

We fast forward to the top of the sixth. Stockton starter Seth Streich decided to pitch around Joey Gallo to lead off the 6th. SS Hanser Alberto singled behind Gallo and with runners on first and second, DH Luis Mendez was asked to put down the sacrifice bunt to get both runners in to scoring position. He sac bunted successfully, which set up Outfielder Zach Cone perfectly for a 2-run single in to the center field grass to tie the ball game at 2.

The Ports would get one run in the bottom half of the sixth to obtain the lead right back off of a solo shot by OF Aaron Shipman. 3-2 Ports. Stockton again would get the offense going in the bottom of the seventh inning. Ports' second baseman Wade Kirkland lead off the inning with a triple, and Stockton would go on to score 2 runs in the inning on 4 hits. 5-2 Ports.

In the top of the 8th, Myrtle Beach would get run #3. With one out, Hanser Alberto drew a walk. After DH Luis Mendez struck out swinging, OF Zach Cone also drew a walk. Outfielder Jamie Jarmon, up from short-season Spokane, then grounded to center to bring the score to within 2. 5-3 Ports.

Welcome to the 9th inning. With two outs, Texas Rangers #1 Prospect, catcher Jorge Alfaro grounded hard to 3B Ryon Healy, which would have been the final out of the ballgame, but a wild throw pulled 1B Matt Olson off the bag. With two outs, a runner on first, and the Pelicans down two runs, in stepped the man, the myth, and the legend, Joey Gallo. With the Pelicans down to their final strike in the game, take a look at what happened:

                      https://<iframe width="640" height="...reen></iframe>

And with that, we go to extra innings, tied at 5.

We'll pick up the action in the top of the 13th inning. 2B Christopher "Boom" Bostick lead off with a line drive single to right. Catcher Jorge Alfaro placed down the sac bunt to get the go-ahead run in to scoring position, and he did so with ease. Who else would drive in the winning run than the man who sent the game to extras in the first place? That's right, Joey Gallo. The Pelicans would go on to score eight runs in the 13th inning, including this 3-run blast to center from the Texas Rangers #1 outfielder prospect Nick Williams:

                      CAM02028.jpg
And there it goes! Williams drove in the 6th, 7th, and 8th runs in the inning with this swing

And that's all she wrote, from Stockton, California.

Pitching matchup: Myrtle Beach- Luis Parra (1-1, 3.99), Stockton- Tim Atherton (0-2, 9.50)

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Texas Rangers, won 6-3 Friday night in front of 7,975 fans in Sotckton, California. Eventual "Player of The Game" Chris Garia, Jorge Alfaro, Joey Gallo, David Lyon, and Nick Williams all had two hits for the Birds in what was one of the most well-rounded offensive contributions for the Pelicans this season to date.

Matt Olson, the Stockon first baseman got things go in the first inning with a solo home run and it was the only run for either team until the third.

In the top of the third, Myrtle Beach RF Royce Bolinger singled to right on a pop fly to lead off the half inning. After MB 1B Preston Beck flew out, LF speedster Chris Garia gave the Pelicans the lead with a 2-run shot out to left field.

Myrtle Beach's lead off man Chris Garia

The top of the fifth saw Myrtle Beach add two more to the scoreboard. 2B Christopher Bostick grounded to CF for a 1-out single, and star Texas Rangers prospect and future catcher Jorge Alfaro knocked THIS RBI triple:

                          CAM02049.jpg
Alfaro will be asked to carry the torch once 3B Joey Gallo gets his AA call-up, and with hits like this, Myrtle Beach won't have any issues

After Alfaro made the score 3-1 on the triple, Myrtle Beach phenom Joey Gallo then singled in Alfaro, making it 4-1.

In the bottom of the sixth, Stockton Ports' LF Dusty Robinson sent a chopper in to left for an RBI single after back to back walks given up by Myrtle Beach starter Parra.

The Pelicans would have some fun in the 8th inning. 3B Joey Gallo would lead off the half with a single, and SS Hanser Alberto reached safely after an error. With runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out, last night's catcher David Lyon grounded a well struck ball in to center field, scoring one run and driving Stockton to a pitching change. Big time prospect and outfielder Nick Williams plated run #6 for Myrtle Beach when he singled to right field scoring Hanser Alberto. All of that, with no outs, but that is all Myrtle Beach would get in the half.

Stockton Ports' LF Dusty Robinson would get another RBI in the bottom of the 8th on a sac fly, but Stockton wouldn't threaten Myrtle Beach.

                          Pelican Standouts
LF- Chris Garia: 2-4, HR, 2 RBI

Pitching matchup: Myrtle Beach- Cody Buckel (3-1, 2.80), Stockton- Manny Correra (2-1, 5.08)

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Texas Rangers moved their winning streak to 6 games last night, when they defeated the Oakland Athletics farm-hand, Stockton Ports by a score of 6-1.

The Pelicans got great pitching, and it was all started by right-hander Cody Buckel, who absolutely cannot throw a strike to save his life in real life. He had trouble finding the zone last night on THE SHOW as well, but it didn't hurt him much. Despite walking 5 batters, he got 9 strikeouts and only allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 7 innings, picking up his 4th win of the season.

How did Myrtle Beach get on the board first, you ask? In the top of the third inning, David Lyon, who was doing the catching with a red hot bat, was hit by a pitch in his left arm with one out. LF Chris Garia then doubled to deep center scoring Lyon, 1-0 Pelicans. After 2B Christopher Bostick struck out swinging, 1B for the evening, Jorge Alfaro grounded to left for a single, scoring Garia. The Birds weren't done. Next batter, 3B Joey "MVP" Gallo doubled in Alfaro, adding to his league-leading RBI total and giving Myrtle Beach a 3-0 lead.

In the bottom of half of inning 3, Buckel's wildness got the best of him as a lead off walk came back to haunt him as Ports' 2B for the evening Chad Pinder doubled to left, knocking in Stockton's only run of the game.

The scoring action concluded in the top of inning 5. Catcher David Lyon lead off with a single, followed by a Chris Garia (LF) fly ball single in to right field. With 2 on and nobody out, 2B Chris "Boom" Bostick doubled to center which scored both runners. Here's a look at it:

                            Bostick doubles in two

With the score 5-1 in favor of Myrtle Beach, the Ports decided it was time for a pitching change. 1B Jorge Alfaro didn't mind one bit as he hit a rocket line drive to right, scoring Bostick and making the score 6-1. Here's Alfaro:

Jorge Alfaro continues his hot hitting in the 5th inning of the win

Myrtle Beach would hang on through great bullpen work, and would remain in 1st place in the division. Standings report coming very soon.

Pitching matchup: Myrtle Beach- Alex "Chi-Chi" Gonzalez (4-1, 4.15), Stockton- Michael Ynda (0-3, 11.16)

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Texas Rangers have moved their winning streak to 7 games while completing a road sweep of Stockton. Prior to the ballgame, outfielder Jamie Jarmon was sent to extended spring training, and in return, the Pelicans received SS/2B/3B Alberto Truinfel from extended spring training.

Things got started on the scoreboard quick in the first inning when Myrtle Beach lead off man and left fielder Chris Garia drew a full count walk. Starting at 3rd with Joey Gallo getting rest, newcomer Alberto Truinfel batted 2nd and singled to left in his first Myrtle Beach at bat. Catcher David Lyon (every day catcher Jorge Alfaro had the game off for rest) then singled in an RBI, all with no outs. A couple batters later, with 2 outs, MB drew back to back walks which brought in another run by the end of the half inning. 2-0 MB.

Stockton manufactured a run in the bottom half of the inning on a fielder's choice, bringing the score to within one.

Skipping to the top of the forth inning, Myrtle Beach CF Nick Williams lead off the inning with a single to left. He then stole his 5th bag of the season. After RF Royce Bolinger grounded out, Preston Beck (1B) singled to shallow center scoring Mr. Nick Williams from second. 3-1 Myrtle Beach. LF Chris Garia then walked and Stockton changed pitchers. In his 2nd at bat as Pelican, Alberto Truinfel wasted no time against the new pitcher. He knocked a double to left for 2 RBIs. Here's a picture of Alberto's double:

Welcome to Myrtle Beach, Alberto Truinfel

Two batters later, still in the 4th inning, SS Hanser Alberto hit a slow grounder past the Ports' 1B, scoring Truinfel. Myrtle Beach lead at the end of the inning 6-1.

The next inning, inning 5, saw the Pelicans add one more run. CF Nick Williams again lead off with a walk, and again stole 2nd base, his 7th of the season. Preston Beck (1B) walked and a batter later, with 2 outs, Triunfel singled, which scored Mr. Nick Williams. 7-1, Pelicans.

The Pelicans would again put runs on the scoreboard in the 6th inning. Hanser Alberto and DH Luis Mendez found their way on base with two outs and RF Royce Bolinger jacked a 3-run HR and the route was on in Stockton, California. Take a look at the Bolinger homer HERE:

Royce Bolinger continues to play consistently good baseball for single-A Myrtle Beach

With the score 10-1, Myrtle Beach starter Alex Gonzalez had gone 6 full innings without allowing an earned run, but he suddenly got in to trouble in the bottom of the seventh inning. 3 runs would score in the inning, but only two would count against Chi-Chi's ERA. He'd allow 4 runs total, but only 2 were earned. 10-4, MB.
