            1/16/08 -- VMI Practice

At practice today, Coach Bob Knight addressed the team.

"Early last week I had a talk with your former coach, Coach Baucom. He told me that since the team was struggling that I should try his up tempo, fast break offense because he had built the team that way. What I saw for the past two games was a whopping 33 turnovers and my top scorer averaging under 30% from the floor. This is what I think of his offensive style!" [Coach Knight sends a chair across the Cameron Hall floor!] "I am the general here! You kids are going to do it my way now. Let's get to work on cutting down the turnovers and hopefully we can win against the conference leading Bulldogs!"

He told me that since the team was struggling that I should try his up tempo, fast break offense because he had built the team that way. What I saw for the past two games was a whopping 33 turnovers and my top scorer averaging under 30% from the floor. This is what I think of his offensive style!" Let's get to work on cutting down the turnovers and hopefully we can win against the conference leading Bulldogs!"

Nothing like putting a little scare into the kids. That's what I get for being a "fiery competitor who demands a lot from his players". Gee, that sounds like THE Bob Knight, doesn't it.

Sorry about that. I got a little carried away after being in so many games only to come out on the short end. Must be my nerves.

Thanks guys, as always, for reading and the feedback.
