Trade Analysis: This trade will likely not have a huge impact on any of the three teams involved, but Cleveland gains a young center who they feel has decent potential, the Celtics acquire a young backup point guard to relieve Rajon Rondo, and the Kings add a veteran guard/forward who plays great defense. |

Trade Analysis: This trade likely means the Trail Blazers will move LaMarcus Aldridge to center in place of the retired Marcus Camby, and will have Brand start at power forward. Frankly, the trade makes little sense for Philadelphia given the fact they are already stacked with guards but lack depth in the middle, even before making this trade. |

Pre-Draft Rankings

**Thought I should note, the class was auto-generated, I might have made some changes to take down overalls at the beginning of the franchise but I can't recall at the moment. I started this before I realized that real life draft classes were available, but I kind of like how this gives me an opportunity to create my own story lines for the draft/players.

2011 Draft - Top Prospects
RK | NAME | AGE | POS | HT | WT | SCHOOL/COUNTRY | PROJECTION | STOCK |
1 | Dante Keller | 21 | PF | 6-8 | 237 | Mississippi St | Top 5 | ![]() |
Solidified his top ranking with a consistent season. If he doesn't go first in the draft he should go no later than second.
2 | Quinn Redd | 19 | SF | 6-8 | 219 | Notre Dame | Top 5 | ![]() |
Could challenge for the number 1 spot, although Keller is more NBA-ready. Will be a star some day.
3 | Vin Slater | 21 | PF | 6-9 | 253 | Auburn | Top 5 | ![]() |
Might have the highest ceiling of all the top power forwards in this deep class. Finished the year off strong at Auburn.
4 | Stuart Price | 20 | PF | 6-10 | 247 | Kansas | Top 5 | ![]() |
Some scouts feel he could be a decent center at the NBA level despite only being 6'10". Looks to be a great, fundamentally sound player.
5 | Vlado Olic | 20 | PG | 6-1 | 188 | Serbia | Top 5 | ![]() |
Scouts are becoming convinced that the young point guard is very NBA-ready, despite not excelling in any particular area.
6 | Cesar Padillo | 21 | SF | 6-7 | 242 | Argentina | Lottery | ![]() |
Despite falling out of the top 5 in the rankings, is still very likely to be selected with one of the first five picks in the draft.
7 | Jerome Sharp | 19 | SG | 6-3 | 221 | Minnesota | Lottery | ![]() |
Showed some inconsistency during March Madness, but still one of the best shooters in the class and will come off the board early.
8 | Bradford Thorpe | 21 | SG | 6-8 | 212 | Seton Hall | Lottery | ![]() |
Has shown no lingering effects of his elbow injury, could creep up into top 5 territory on draft day.
9 | Konrad Stokes | 19 | PG | 6-3 | 179 | Australia | Lottery | ![]() |
Many scouts prefer Stokes over the higher-ranked Olic, as he's got a more diverse skill set, but he might be slower to adjust to the NBA.
10 | Bradford Lane | 22 | SF | 6-7 | 233 | Virginia | Lottery | ![]() |
Senior campaign at Virginia solidified his top 10 projection, finishing his four-year college career off strong.
11 | Alvin Carlson | 22 | PG | 6-2 | 187 | Michigan State | Lottery | ![]() |
There are still questions about how much he will improve at the next level, but he should be an instant contributor in the league with his playmaking ability.
12 | Nelson Stockton | 22 | SF | 6-10 | 234 | UNC-Charlotte | Lottery | ![]() |
Boosted his draft stock with two clutch performances in a row to end the season on victories. Should have a great NBA career.
13 | Francis Carroll | 21 | PF | 6-9 | 233 | Stanford | Lottery | ![]() |
Truly excelled as a rebounder in college but there are some questions about whether he has what it takes to start at the next level.
14 | Louie Keller | 21 | PF | 6-9 | 250 | TCU | Lottery | ![]() |
Will still need to improve on the defensive end, but should contribute right away offensively for whoever selects him.
15 | Freddy Stokes | 21 | SG | 6-7 | 225 | Australia | Lottery | ![]() |
Some people believe his ability to find good shots is a result of having great chemistry with his brother at point guard in Australia. Excellent shooter nonetheless.
16 | Albert Lucas | 22 | PF | 6-10 | 244 | Wake Forest | Mid 1st | ![]() |
Has been the model of consistency in college. Great physical defender and rebounder.
17 | Eduardo Esparza | 21 | PF | 6-9 | 243 | Mexico | Mid 1st | ![]() |
Hamstring injury could hurt his draft stock. If healthy, one of the best defensive power forwards in the class.
18 | Anderson Wallace | 20 | SG | 6-6 | 224 | Washington St | Mid-Late 1st | ![]() |
Defense continues to improve, still one of the better shooters from deep in this class.
19 | Louie Crawford | 22 | SG | 6-5 | 201 | Kentucky | Mid-Late 1st | ![]() |
Did a great job leading the Wildcats during the tournament. Some teams think his abilities transcend his mid-late first round projection.
20 | Magnus Eklund | 22 | SG | 6-6 | 219 | Sweden | Mid-Late 1st | ![]() |
The Swedish sharp-shooter should become a great contributor off the bench right from the get-go.
21 | Jay O'Neal | 22 | PG | 6-6 | 216 | Georgia | Mid-Late 1st | ![]() |
Some feel he might be too tall for the point guard position, could very likely be converted to shooting guard for an NBA team.
22 | Eric Keefe | 21 | C | 7-0 | 260 | Boston College | Mid-Late 1st | ![]() |
Still the best center prospect in the draft class. Will be a great young defender for an NBA team next year.
23 | Christopher Bell | 21 | PF | 6-11 | 251 | Penn | Mid-Late 1st | ![]() |
Great size and defensive skill. Could be a real force if he improved his post moves.
24 | Bryan Cohen | 23 | SG | 6-3 | 210 | IPFW | Late 1st | ![]() |
Thanks to his leadership and basketball IQ, he could be a hidden gem for a contender at the bottom of the first round.
25 | Zach Ervin | 20 | SF | 6-7 | 211 | Tulane | Late 1st | ![]() |
The questions about his character continue to push this athletically gifted forward down the pre-draft rankings.
26 | Stan Jackson | 20 | SG | 6-7 | 228 | Colorado | Late 1st | ![]() |
Was hoping to boost his stock with a strong finish to the season but missed the last few games with a bum wrist. Great athlete, could be a steal this late.
27 | Dillon Nichols | 20 | C | 6-10 | 241 | Marquette | Late 1st | ![]() |
Questions about his offense leave this defensively-skilled player destined to go in the late first or early second round.
28 | Alfred Robinson | 21 | SG | 6-2 | 175 | Indiana State | Late 1st | ![]() |
Being undersized for a shooting guard and too poor of a passer to run point are two factors pushing this talented scorer to the bottom of the first.
29 | Landry Cage | 21 | SF | 6-7 | 229 | Tennessee | Late 1st | ![]() |
A great athlete and finisher in the paint, Cage really improved his draft stock with a strong tournament performance. Questions about his defense still remain.
30 | Bryce Jones | 20 | PG | 6-3 | 202 | Kansas State | Late 1st | ![]() |
Great shooter and good size for a point guard. Needs to refine his overall game but could be a sleeper at this point in the draft. |

Re: 2010-11 NBA Regular Season Recap
Thanks man! At the end of the season though Randolph was actually asking to be traded already, perhaps they'll move him through the draft? I think they'd like to hang onto him though, he seemed to do well for them.

Well he has potential to be good, I actually start him at Center... he gets me a couple blocks a game. But wolves prolly trade him for something stupid... the trade AI in this game is too simple you either get away with highway robbery... or you're the victim...

Hope the lottery bounces your way and you get a pick in the top 3. Heck -- maybe even two picks in the top four (sound familiar?)

Re: Cavalier Chronicle: Life After LeBron

SECAUCUS, N.J. -- The new face of the Cavaliers is 14 years old, wears a bow tie and has battled disease since birth.
Nick Gilbert looks nothing like LeBron James, but on Tuesday night he brought back all the hope that left Cleveland right along with its franchise player last summer.

Nick Gilbert, 14-year-old son of Cavs owner Dan Gilbert, represented the team on stage awaiting the winner of the 2011 NBA Draft Lottery
The Cavaliers got a huge jump on their post-LeBron rebuilding process, winning the lottery and the No. 1 selection in next month's NBA draft.
"Shocking events took place last summer and it was a slow, long, painful haul to get through it. Maybe this will be the final straw in getting over the hump, getting to the other side, and having a lot of hope for the future," Cavs owner Dan Gilbert said. "That's what we need."
Gilbert sent his son and "hero", 14-year-old Nick Gilbert, to the stage and the kid came up with a stunning victory, as the Cavs turned a pick from the Minnesota Timberwolves that had only a 0.7 percent chance of victory into the top spot.
In addition to the number 1 pick, the Cavaliers also hold the fifth selection in the upcoming draft. The Los Angeles Clippers leap-frogged from their fourth seed to nab the second overall pick, and the Toronto Raptors surpassed the Detroit Pistons for the third spot in the draft.
The Cavaliers have a number of options for what to do with their first pick, but either way they stand to enter the 2011-12 season a much improved, young team.
The names we hear tied to Cleveland most often are Quinn Redd and Cesar Padillo, the two best small forward prospects in the draft class. After LeBron's departure, the position was mostly filled by Joey Graham and Terrence Williams, but Graham was recently traded to Sacramento and the team envisions Williams as more of shooting guard. Redd, although a little rough around the edges, has that star quality that could fill the hole left by LeBron. Padillo is the more NBA-ready player but he projects to be more of a complimentary player in the Manu Ginobili mold, which could make him a good fit in Cleveland with Williams and J.J. Hickson emerging as solid scorers last season.
There are three power forwards at the top of the draft class and, although Hickson earned Most Improved Player this past season, the team could stand to improve their front-court depth. Dante Keller looks to be the one player from this class who could have the most impact from day 1, as he is a solid all-around player with a propensity for Zach Randolph-esque performances. Auburn's Vin Slater is already a polished player but scouts view him as possibly having the highest potential of anyone else in the draft. Some general managers view Stuart Price as a possible center at the next level, despite being only 6'10". He could perhaps be the best fit of the three bigs, as he would allow them to have one of the best young front-courts with Hickson and Price on the court at the same time.
There also lies the possibility that Cleveland could move either one or both of their picks. Some speculate that if they were to trade back, they would be looking to take Australian point guard Konrad Stokes, small forward Nelson Stockton, or Boston College center Eric Keefe.

2011 Mock Draft v2.0
Breaking Down Cleveland's Projected Picks:
Taking Redd with the number one overall pick finally fills the void left by LeBron James and gives them a future star player. With the 5th pick, they could go any number of ways, but if the top 3 power forwards are off the board the most likely outcome is Sharp (since Gee is testing free agency) or trading down a few spots to draft point guard Konrad Stokes. However, if one of the power forwards is available at 5, we expect them to stand pat and draft them.

.7% chance and you land the #1....... Ties perfectly with real life.Redd seems to be the safe choice with the hopes that your #2 or #3 pick falls to #5. Lot of different things you could be doing.
