Re: Detroit Pistons: Rebuilding Towards the Title

Pistons Have Another Big 4th, Head Home Up 2-0 On Sixers

Pistons coach Lawrence Frank and the Detroit fans would probably prefer the Pistons not make a habit of needing 4th quarter comebacks to win playoff games, but they won't argue with the results. For the 2nd consecutive game, the Pistons overcame a deficit (9 entering the 4th and as high as 11 early in the 4th quarter) to snatch a road win. Detroit outscored the Philadelphia 76ers 29-19 in the final quarter and now head back to Detroit up 2-0.

Detroit caught the 76ers with about 2 minutes left on a runner by Jonas Jerebko. From there the team never relinquished the lead as they Kim English knocked down 2 free throws, Greg Monroe hit 3-4, and Rodney Stuckey hit 2 of 2. Philly forward Dorrell Wright knocked down a three with 0.6 seconds left to bring the Sixers within 1 but they were unable to foul after the Pistons inbounded the ball.

Monroe and Stuckey were the only Pistons in double figures, and both came up big in the final quarter, combining for 21 of the 29 Piston points. Monroe finished with 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists. Stuckey had 24 points. Jose Calderon dished out 9 assists while Andre Drummond helped on defense with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. Philly had a balanced attack with 5 double figure scorers. High man was Jason Richardson with 16. Andrew Bynum was limited to just 9 shots, scoring 10 points and grabbing 8 boards. Evan Turner, continuing to get the majority of the minutes at point in the absence of Jrue Holiday had just 3 assists to go with his 13 points and 9 rebounds.

Pistons coach Lawrence Frank said, "I liked our defense in the 1st and 4th quarters. In the middle two quarters I thought we lacked some energy, which resulted in some slow closeouts. With Richardson, Nick Young, Thaddeus Young, Dorrell Wright, Hawes, and the rest, they have a lot of good outside shooters. You have to fight through screens and close out fast. One guy who might be overlooked because he only had 5 points was Kim English. He didn't play much this year and he's been thrust into the spotlight a bit in the absence of Brandon. He gave us 15 or so solid minutes and helped us space the floor just by being a threat from outside in the 4th. With Philly we can match up with Rodney at the 3 because Richardson or Nick Young aren't going to exploit him down in the block."

Are u playing these games, coach mode, simulating ? im thinking of doing a simulation one with the Blazers, but i also like coaching, but at this rate, if i coach mode every game, i wont even get a season or 2 done b4 the next game comes out in a couple months,

maybe ill just straight up quick sim them, I do like that u can do hoopscast, and control the minutes,
