Looking at your boxscores, how do you have so many opposing players who are "DNP"? In my games, the CPU always subs everyone in at least once.

I use 30 team control and control all rotations. Most teams have 2-4 guys with no allotted minutes. It simply works out for me when I sim or when the CPU handles their subs. It's a lot of work though. I have to adjust for every injury. I have an excel spreadsheet that I use to track injuries, replacements, the number of minutes, etc.

Re: Detroit Pistons: Rebuilding Towards the Title

Should Pistons Tank Rest Of Season?

Some Pistons fans are suggesting it might be wise for the Detroit Pistons to rest some key players in the last 7 games of the season in order to miss the playoffs and keep their 1st round pick in 2013. As part of the Ben Gordon trade, the Pistons must send the Charlotte Bobcats a 1st round pick. That pick is top 14 protected this season and top 8 protected in 2013/2014. In the 2015 draft the Pistons must send the pick unless they win the lottery and receive the first pick. It is only in 2106 that the pick is completely unprotected.

Many Pistons fans believe it is more advantageous to have a 1st round draft pick rather than be a sacrificial lamb for the Miami Heat in the opening round.

Pistons coach Lawrence Frank dismisses that talk. "We are out to win every single night and our goal from day one has been to make the playoffs. Any talk about intentionally losing games or resting key players without valid reasons is simply silly. I don't believe any NBA team intentionally tries to lessen their chances to win, the athletes in the NBA are simply too competitive."

With 7 games left the Pistons are tied with the Atlanta Hawks at 37-38. Boston is 1/2 game ahead of both at 37-37 with 8 games left to play, compared to 7 for the Hawks and Pistons.

Unlikely Hero Maxiell Scores At Buzzer, Pistons Beat Celtics 82-81

It's been a rough season for Jason Maxiell. Maxiell started the year as the starter but later found himself with a run of DNPs. Only a recent injury to Jonas Jerebko has thrust Maxiell back into the lineup where he made the most of it against Boston. Maxiell grabbed a Rodney Stuckey miss for a quick putback at the buzzer to beat the Boston Celtics 82-81 in a game with huge playoff implications.

With Andre Drummond struggling with foul trouble (he fouled out in just 17 minutes), Maxiell was asked to play 27 minutes. He provided 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks, plus the timely buzzer beater. The only reason the Celtics were even in the game was the Pistons' penchant for fouling. Boston shot just 30% (compared to 43% for Detroit), were outscored 28-4 in fastbreak points and 36-22 in the paint, and had just 13 assists versus 30 (on 34 made baskets) for Detroit. However Boston hit 32-40 free throws while the Pistons hit just 8-14.

Greg Monroe led the way for Detroit with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Brandon Knight had 16. Rodney Stuckey led the Pistons with 7 assists but hit just 3-14 shots. Boston was led by Paul Pierce with 27 points. Jordan Crawford had 15 off the bench. Rajon Rondo had just 8 points on 4-16 shooting and dished out 5 assists.

Pistons coach Lawrence Frank said, "Jason is a pro. When Jonas went down a couple games ago, he was ready. He never pouted while on the bench. He kept ready, worked hard, and cheered on his teammates. And when the time came, he's been helping us win ballgames."

The win catapulted the Pistons into the 7th slot in the Eastern Conference. With the win Detroit evened their record at 38-38 while Boston fell to 37-38. Atlanta also lost, falling to 9th at 37-39.

not sure you can. I don't control everything. I let the CPU do scouting (even for the pistons), control their playbook, etc. But I make all rotation moves, trades, signings, and draft picks.
