This is very good! I don't really enjoy playing CPU vs. CPU personally, but if you like it, go for it! It should definitely make it a tough coaching road.

I'm pretty sure you can because I nearly did so in my closed legacy, but I ended up not doing it as it felt a little cheap (to me, personally). Shot form adds an element of surprise to recruiting for me, which I like.

For me changing a players shot is a form of coaching. If a kid has a horrible jumper, as a coach you would try and help him fix it. same with Free throw style.

                2008 Hangar Challenge
                Championship Game

                @

                Charleston Southern (1-1) @ New Mexico (2-0)
                Clune Arena
                November 8, 2008

In the Championship Game of the 2008 Hangar Challenge it was the New Mexico Lobos who went home champs over the Charleston Southern Buccaneers. The game was back and forth for much of the first half and eventually finished with a 33-32 Buccaneer advantage, however a strong second half by the Lobos saw them lifting the trophy in a 75-64 win.

As usual the guards played well for CSU, but it was Kenny Mitchell, the senior small forward who scored a career-high 18 points that showed the most promise. Jeremy Sexton finished with 19 points to lead all scorers and added 4 assists, while Sheldon Strickland had a decent night, finishing with 13 points and 4 assists.

Balanced scoring was the name of the game for the Lobos who had 4 of their 5 starters in double figures. Leading the way for the Lobos was Jarion Henry who finished with career-highs in both points (13) and rebounds (10). The sophomore small forward is really showing promise for a very good New Mexico team. Australian Cameron Bairstow used his body very well down low this game with 11 points and 6 rebounds as his stock begins to rise.

This has been a promising start to the season for Coach Pfeifer's Buccaneers, but unfortunately it couldn't finish with the Hangar Challenge trophy. Up next for Charleston Southern is a regional round game of the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic against Louisiana Monroe (0-1) at Michigan State's wonderful Breslin Center. Last season, ULM was able to make it into the tournament as a 13-seed, however were eliminated by New Mexico, the 4-seed, in the first round 74-72 in a close match.

Wow 10-28 from 3pt and you still lose. From looking at the box score I would say getting only 6 points out of your bench could be a key reason for that loss. Glad to see you back posting though

I'm back and more mediocre than ever! I'm excited to getting this back up and running. Watching the NCAA tournament and all the soccer international friendlies as well as UEFA qualifiers has put everything on hold!

As far as that last game....NO HELP FROM THE BENCH!!!! I was very annoyed seeing that whomever subbed in was more or less useless. Overall though, I was content...that was a #4 seed in last season's NCAA tournament that was eventually knocked out in the second round by Kansas.

                        November 11, 2008

In the opening round of the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic, Charleston Southern and Louisiana-Monroe battled on the neutral court of the Breslin Center. When all was said and done, it was Charleston Southern who prevailed passed Louisiana-Monroe 70-54.

This game would have been much different if it weren't for CSU's stud junior shooting guard Sheldon Strickland. He was the only player in double figures for the Buccaneers, but it was more than enough to make up for the sub-par performance of his teammates. Strickland finished with a career-high 31 points to lead all scorers in this game on 12-15 shooting, including 6-7 from three.

Louisiana-Monroe also had a big time performance from junior power forward Stevan McClellan, who finished with 16 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. McClellan was dominant on the glass in securing almost half of his teams' rebounds and made his way to the line 14 times, only converting on 8 attempts.

Up next for Charleston Southern is a game against the Iowa Hawkeyes (1-0) of the Big Ten who are coming off a first round victory over Utah Valley 81-70. The Hawkeyes start 3 freshmen, so the experience of CSU could cause problems for the youngsters.

Glad to see this back up and running. I thought you might have gotten frustrated doing the CPU vs. CPU thing and hung it up. That's what happened to my Jack Vance legacy. I much prefer playing the games now, but you keep doing what you're doing. I'm following as always.

In the quarterfinal round of the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic only one team showed up to play. That team was the constantly pressing Iowa Hawkeyes who are now moving on to the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic semifinals with an 85-59 drubbing of Charleston Southern.

Just like the last game for CSU only one player really came to play, however that wasn't enough against the fire power of Iowa. Kenny Mitchell was the only Buccaneer to go for double figures in scoring as he tied a career-high with 24 points, adding 5 rebounds as well. Unfortunately Sheldon Strickland came nowhere near his performance of last game. Instead, Strickland finished with a goose egg for a point total. The story all game long was the amount of turnovers given up by the guards and Mitchell himself even though he had a great scoring night.

Eric May was efficient for Iowa, real efficient. He finished with 25 points to lead all scorers on 8-13 shooting in just 25 minutes of play. His dominance allowed Iowa to rest easy for most of the game as they built an early lead and never looked back. Pedro Little, the freshman center also had a great night with 9 points and 9 rebounds on 4-5 shooting in just 13 minutes of work.

Coach Pfeifer was seen after the game just shaking his head in disbelief after his side were just swept off the court. Charleston Southern may be taking steps in the right direction, however they certainly are not yet ready for the big time. Up next for Charleston Southern is a trip back home as they host UNC Wilmington (1-1).

I saw this post as the last game was just finishing up...HA! Talk about frustrating! I'd rather do it on the recruiting end and honestly, I don't mind a lack of success. The streaky nature of my players hurts for sure though.

Just been too busy, but I'm happy to be back. Now I have a lot of other threads to catch up on!
