Knicks Game 1

The 76ers held a 6 point lead to start the 4th quarter. The Knicks would come back to take a 1 point lead after a Hernangomez layup with 6 minutes to go. One minute later Ben would drive to the lane and KP would pick up his 6th foul of the game. Doncic would miss a jumper and Embiid would grab the rebound and the 76ers had a narrow 4 point lead with 2:20 to go. Embiid would get back to back mismatches after switches and 2 layups keep the 76ers up 4 with 46 seconds to go. Bol Bol would seal the game with a steal of Lebron.

The 2 big guys dominated with Embiid getting 30 & 21 and Bol 27 & 13. Ben once again shows he isn't selfish with 14 assist on only 9 shots. The Knicks played well on offense with 122 points just have to find a way to slow down the big guys down low.

Knicks Game 2

The 76ers win a close one to win both road games as the series heads back to Philly. KP scores 26, but only shoots 8 of 24. Ben outplays Lebron in this one and you could argue that's the main reason the Knicks lost. Embiid has a quite game after exploding in game 1. Its nice to see Ingles have a good game on offense going 4 of 5 from 3.

Pistons 112 - Celtics 103 (tied at 1)
Avery Bradley 32 points

Warriors 125 - Lakers 114 (warriors 2-0 lead)
Curry scores 36 and Durant added 31 while Green gets a triple double as the Warriors take a 2-0 lead

Thunder 121 - Spurs 115 (thunder 2-0 lead)
Leonard is back and its closer still the Thunder get the win as Westbrook has 35 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assist

Knicks Game 3

The Knicks came into the game down 0 to 2 so this was obviously a must win game. When Kristops fouled out with 1 minute to go in the 3rd quarter it looked like the season would be over as the Knicks was down 7 points. Then a few seconds later Ben Simmons would foul out for the 2nd straight game.

The refs was showing no mercy and Fultz would also foul out with 7 minutes to go in the game. It didn't look like it was going to matter as the 76ers held a 10 point lead with 5:20. The Knicks would come back and a George Hill 3 tied the game with 2:24 to go. Embiid had gone ice cold as he was getting double teamed leading to a lot of turnovers.

With 1:30 to go the game was tied and with Fultz and Simmons fouled out Sexton was running the show at PG. He hit the biggest shot of his young career and gets fouled to give the 76ers a 2 point lead. He would miss the free thow so the lead was still at 2. George Hill would tie the game with 58 seconds to go in the 4th. Lebron would get the ball back with a chance to win the game and at age 35 he would not have many more chances remaining at another ring. Bol Bol would steal it from Lebron with 10 seconds to go, but the 76ers couldn't convert at the buzzer and it was going to overtime.

Embiid still getting double teamed hit a layup to tie the game with 1 minute remaining. Frank was in at PG for the Knicks and scores to give them a 2 point lead off a Lebron pass. So the 76ers now down 2 and have a chance to win or tie and with 15 seconds plenty of time to get a good shot. They would get a good shot as Sexton finds Joe Ingles with a good look for 3 and a chance to basically end the series. The shot would bounce off and the Knicks had stole one to make this a series.

Lebron carries the Knicks and outshines Simmons who has to learn to play without fouling when the game is being called tight. Hernangomez had a huge game atleast in some area's with 22 rebounds as Doncic once again has a quite game against the 76ers wing defenders. Even though he was slowed down in the 4th you cant blame this game on Embiid who has 39 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assist, 3 steals, and 4 blocks. Bol was solid with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assist and 4 blocks, but overall Embiid didn't get any help in this one.

Knicks Game 4

The Knicks use a balance effort to tie the series up at 2 as 7 guys score in double figures. It was a quite game on offense as the 76ers score only 92 points. The story of game may be Ben Simmons who fouls out for the 3rd straight game. As you can expect the Philly fans wasn't so pleased with the refs after some of the calls. Its now a best of 3 and 2 of those games will be in New York so it doesn't get any more fun then this. Stay tuned for what should be a great ending as all 4 series are tied at 2.

Knicks Game 5

Simmons gets off to a hot start as the 76ers held a 1 point lead after the 1st quarter. The 76ers start the 2nd quarter off on fire as the lead grows to 39 to 17 with 8:19 in the 2nd remaining. The Knicks fans was booing as the 76ers take a 59 to 45 point lead into the locker room.The 76ers would build the lead to over 20 and the Knicks would slowly get back in the game even cutting it to 1 point in the 4th quarter. Embiid gets a offense rebound and a old school 3 point play gave the 76ers some breathing room. Fultz would hit a 3 and then some T.J McConnell free throws would ice the game for a relatively easy victory for the 76ers.

PF Jaren Jackson has a monster game with 25 points and 16 rebounds

Yea the 2nd round has been the best one in my 3 years doing this I should have the balance of this round up by tomorrow. Lebron still has these moments where I just cant stop him even at age 35.

Knicks Game 6

The Knicks got off to a hot start and was up 11 with 9 minutes in the 2nd quarter. The 76ers would cut the lead to 2 at halftime. Ben would once again be in foul trouble as he picked up his 5th with 8 minutes in the 3rd quarter and his team down 13 points. You knew things were going the Knicks way when Lebron pulls up from near halfcourt at the end of the 3rd quarter and nails the shot. This made the lead for the Knicks 94 to 76. Ben would sit out the rest of the 3rd quarter and would enter back in the 4th. Just one minute into entering the game he picked up his 6th foul and fouled out for the 4th time in 6 games. The 76ers never could really mount a serious comeback and the Knicks picked up the win forcing a game 7.

The Knicks went 29 of 35 from the FT line while the 76ers went 16 of 23. This game was all about Lebron and single handily won this game. He had 41 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assist on just 15 of 22 with 9 of 12 from the line.

Knicks Game 7

Last year the 76ers got upset by the Pistons in 6 games sending shockwaves to the NBA crowd. Now it was do or die game 7 vs Lebron James in the Garden it doesn't get any better then this.

The 1st quarter end tied at 27 and the 2nd half would end in a 2 point game. Krsitops was protecting the rim with 5 blocks in the first half, but also had 4 fouls. It wasn't just Ben Simmons the refs were picking on as KP got his 5th foul just 2 minutes into the half. The 3rd quarter would end with the 76ers down 4 so still anyone's game.

The Knicks was starting to extend the lead after a turnover they had a 9 point lead just 1 minute into the quarter. The 76ers cut the lead down a bit to 6 with 4:47 to go. The New York Defense and Philly turnovers were starting to be the story of the game as NY had a 8 point lead with only 3 minutes to go.

It was crunch time someone had to step up and step up in a hurry or the season was going to be over again earlier then it should be. Fultz would hit a huge 3 to cut the lead to 5 with 2:45 remaining. Lebron missed the layup and Bol grabs the board and a few seconds later would dunk it home off a Ben pass. The lead was now just 3 with 2:19 remaining. The next possession we see who the player stepping was going to be and that was Bol Bol. He blocks Lebron and on the other end Fultz hits a 3 to tie the game with 1:50. If your wondering Bol not only gets the block to start it he also gets the assist. Bol was not done he gets the rebound and dunk on the other end and the 76ers have a small lead after a 10-0 run in the last 1:10. Lebron obviously wasn't going away this easy and ties the game on a close shot. Fast forward a little bit and the 76ers was down 3 in the closing seconds until Ben cuts it to 1 off a putback. It was now only 12 seconds to go and the 76ers down 1 point. George Hill would get fouled and only hit 1 of 2 free throws so 10 seconds to go in the game 76ers down 2. The season was on the line and Fultz was hot so he got the call and he didn't disappoint. He has the play of his life with a jam in the face of KP to tie the game with just a few seconds to go in game 7 at the Garden. The Knicks had one chance to win the game or it would be overtime and 4 seconds on the clock. The entire building knew Lebron was getting the ball so he was double teamed and had nowhere to go. He was forced to pass it and found Willy Hernangomez wide open not a soul around him. The season would come down to if Willy could hit a 15 foot jumper and it seemed like the ball was in the air for 30 seconds. The ball would go around the entire basket and would fall off and the game was going to overtime.

As you would expect the players for the 76ers was on fumes so every timeout was precious to give the players some rest. Kristops finally picked up his 6th foul and the vet Tyson Chandler would enter for him. It was a 2 point game and Lebron gets a steal and dunk and the 76ers was in major trouble again down 4 with 1:11. The Knicks had the ball back still up 4 and Lebron would get the ball in the post. When the guy guarding Frank Ntilikina went to double Lebron spots him and Frank knocks the shot down. This made the lead 7 with 41 seconds and after some made free throws the game was over.

We will have more on this series later for now we are at a loss for words after the 76ers again lose in the 2nd round of the playoffs. The Philadelphia fans are in shock how could they lose to the series after being up 3-2 and 2 to 0?

2019 / 2020 NBA Champions

After the Knicks shocking win vs the 76ers they get beat handily in 5 games by the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons would go on to face the Warriors In the NBA finals for the 2nd straight year. This year the Warriors won in 5 games so 1 game less then the previous year. This marks the 5th championship in 6 years for the Warriors and this one is a bit different then the others. Klay Thompson and Andre Iguadala are gone so this is more of a traditional lineup then some of the previous teams. They also were the #3 seed this year so didn't have home court advantage. The Warriors should easily be able to resign Draymond Green and Jordan Bell so the path to the championship next year will still go through them.

Offseason Breaking News

We will have more later on the breaking news that the two expansion teams the "Cozumel Cruisers " and the "Nashville Outlaws" will begin play for the upcoming season. The Jazz are the big winners from the lottery as they jump from 7 to 2. The Kings finally have some good news and jump up from 5 to 3. The teams with bad luck are the suns going from 3 to 6, Mavericks from 2 to 7, and Hornets from 6 to 9. The odds/ draft lottery is tricky this year with the new expansion teams joining the NBA. The Celtics get the #1 pick and with a loaded roster we cant wait to see what Danny Ainge pulls off.

Expansion Draft Preview

Overall you don't see the awful contracts being taken up by bench warmers like you saw a few years back. You will always find teams looking to shed salaries and take the cap space so thats why most of the players you see below were not protected. The teams hurt the most are players with a lot of young guys on rookie contracts like 76ers, Hawks, and Grizzles. Also teams like the Raptors and Thunder who don't have a lot of people under contract were hurt as everyone must have 1 unprotected guy. You also have teams like the Heat, Hornets, and Pelicans saying a prayer they have guys drafted to save some the team some $. The most a team could keep was 9 players and that # included players with overseas contracts or with team / player options. Potential free agents do not count toward the 9 players you keep. So you could see a player drafted below and decline his player option and that would make him a free agent.

Expansion Draft Results

We will not spend a lot of time talking about the rosters as some of these guys like Patrick Beverly have player options they will likely decline. The biggest news around the NBA is some high priced guys got drafted like Jrue, Haraway, Valacinus, Zeller and even some smaller guys toward the bottom of the draft like Snell, Mills and Felicio. Now that you get a glimpse of these roster you see they are heavy in big men so expect both 1st round picks to be taken on Guards. A few surprises not taken in the draft are Nicolas Batum, Justin Anderson and Greyson Allen. It's unclear how FA will work for the new teams as you see these teams both will have veteran players so they will not be pushovers.
