Yea its all your fault... either that or I didn't learn my lesson of texting girls during a important playoff game lol
I am currently at the FA part so it will likely be a few days before I have another real update. I will likely do something similar to what I had last year with the power rankings.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: 2k18 - 76ers "the process needs results"
Quick update I am about done with the off-season so I should finish that up tomorrow. So I should be able to get something up either tomorrow or Monday.
The off-season hit the same time as I’ve been distracted in free time at work booking a cruise (where I usually post updates) confidences the cruise I booked goes to Cozumel.
I’m anxious to start the new season and to finally make it to the finals

2k18 - 76ers "the process needs results"
Lebron was on the Cavs for the first 2 years and they never made it out of the 2nd round of the east. So he joined the Big market Knicks with KP and the 2nd overall pick doncic to form a big 3. The Cavs pretty much never win the title with the sim engine so I figured it was best for him to join a place where we had a chance and avoid the west

Re: 2k18 - 76ers "the process needs results"
2020 & 2021 5 Interesting Teams Outside Top 10 of Power Rankings
Hawks
The Hawks are once again loaded with depth at every position and dividing up the minutes will be a big task. They will need to make some moves even if its trading away pieces for future draft picks to remove the logjam for playing time. The problem is they don't really have a go to #1 option and that limits the upside this year for the team. All the young guys outside of Ayton have yet to start reaching their full potential
Key Additions Paul Milsap, Antonio Brown, Thomas Robinson, and a rookie SG
Milsap will hopefully be the vet big the team needs off the bench and the rookie SG will compete for the starting job. Thomas Robinson and Brown will likely be traded at some point this year and will only be used if a injury happens.
Biggest Question
Should the Hawks add a star player to its roster and trade all its depth ?
Possible Trades
They are loaded with assets and expiring big contracts so no doubt they will try and add a star player. The big question will be do they trade them for someone over 30 if they aren't a championship contender ? They paid big $ to Antonio Brown who will ride the bench so he is pretty much strictly a trade candidate. We expect to see them in the market for Blake Griffin and Derzon.
Season Goals
At the worst the Hawks need to make the playoffs as the rebuilding phase as lasted long enough. They have so much young talent and hopefully the additions of vets like Milsap will be what the team needs to help out the young guys. They need to see some improvement from another young guy and make the playoffs.
Mavs
The Mavericks had a ton of cap space and was hoping to sign a star FA to team with their two young studs. They didn't land a big fish but still have a improved roster that should be enough to make the playoffs. They have 2 all star caliber players at 22 with cap space and a big city so the future is bright in Dallas.
Key Additions SG Antonie (rookie), Lamarcus Aldridge, Jae Crowder, P.J Dozier
They have a pair of young SF's with more potential, but Crowder is the better player now so he will start. He is one of the better 3 & D guys in the NBA. Aldridge will help out and play the 4 & 5 off the bench. P.J is a really good defender and they have 3 guys at SG that are all worth of minutes and similar grades.
Biggest Question Are Smith and Bagley ready to carry this team ?
Possible Trades They need to find a way to upgrade Center and Deandre Jordan makes the most sense. They would likely have to trade Noel and Aldridge to make the trade work finically.
Season Goals They need to keep on seeing improvement from Bagley and Smith as that's the key to the future. With Mark Cuban running the team and cap space eventually they should be able find a 3rd star.
Pistons
The power rankings continue to sleep on the Pistons who have made it to the finals 2 straight years. The return mostly the same team and built around defense and without a go to scorer. The cavs traded Isaiah Thomas this summer and the Pistons was rumored to be in the market for him to give the team a go to scorer. Its always tough to decide when to make a major move that shakes up your team when you have been close to winning a title for 2 years.
Key Additions None
Biggest Question Can they make it back to the finals for the 3rd year or has this team peaked ?
Possible Trades They could package Harris and Reggie Jackson to the Raptors for Derzon since this is a new look raptors team. That would give them a go to scorer and Stanley Johnson could play more minutes.
Season Goals
To win the east for the 3rd straight year
Nuggets
They made a big move this year and traded for Isaiah Thomas and drafted a rookie PG who is raw, but has A+ potential. They are still to heavy at PG & SG so may have to trade someone to upgrade SF or PF. The starting SF will be 2nd year Antitkopmu who is still very raw so they are throwing him to the wolves and hoping he improves on the fly.
Key Additions Isaiah Thomas, Anigbogu, rookie PG, Biyombo
Biggest Question
How will Isaiah Thomas do teaming with Jokic ?
Possible Trades
Gary Harris is a perfect trade candidate as Murray has out performed him and at worst they could salaray dump and get the 1st back from next year they traded for Isaiah
Season Goals
They need to show they are capable of building a team around Jokic and the trade for Isaiah shows they at least are trying. They are going to have to pay some guys this offseason so they need to figure out the core of the team this year.
Trail Blazers
They made a big move this year and added Marc Gasol in a deal centered around Nukic. It gives them a big 3 that's good enough on paper to win a championship. They have good young depth to go along with them down low with Collins, McCoy and Swanigan. The one problem spot is SF where MKG will start.
Biggest Question Does Gasol make them legit threats to beat the Warriors?
Key addition Marc Gasol, MKG
Gasol is 34, but still going strong and will be a great 3rd option and force down low. MKG will start by default and is still a elite defender.
Possible Trades They could trade one of the young big's for help at SF
Season Goals This is the best team in Portland in a long time so they need to make a deep playoff run and resign Lillard and C.J. Its now or never for this team as the 2 stars are 30.

Re: 2k18 - 76ers "the process needs results"
2020 & 2021 Power Rankings
10. Rockets
Its looking like last year was the best shot for the Rockets to win a title as they came into the playoffs the #1 seed. They ended up losing in the first round and now Eric Gordon is a shell of his old self, Rudy Gay and Gallinari both didn't come back and Chris Paul is 35. They didn't have any cap room this summer to add any pieces with so much $ tied up into 3 players. They are left with a major hole at SF and no depth.
Key Additions Doug McDermott
He is somehow the starting SF on a team that's in the top 10 in power rankings.
Biggest Question Is it time for the Rockets to trade assets and start over ?
Possible Trades If they become buyers they will have to trade 1st round picks for someone on a rookie deal not making $. If they want to make a big move they can trade Capella for several players. Is it time to trade Chris Paul at 35 with big $ due next year ?
Season Goals You still have two elite players so the dream is still alive to win the title. The Rockets just don't realistically have the role players along side them to beat the the other elite teams. The only way you get those players is trading away future 1st and that's dangerous with Paul and Hardin both over 30.
9. Bucks
Not a whole as changed for the Bucks and as great as Giannis is he has yet to make a deep run into the playoffs. They wont be big players in FA anytime soon with so much $ tied up into the starting lineup. This is a talented squad and they should be one of the better teams in the east.
Key Additions Tyler Ulis
He will be the backup PG and a much cheaper option then bringing Bledsoe back.
Biggest Question Is this team good enough to be a championship contender as is ?
Possible Trades They lost Eric Bledsoe and the cap situation is better still it has some issues with Thon Maker getting a pay raise soon. If they are looking to shake things up Parker and a draft pick could be offered. Maybe they are a team that makes a run at Chris Paul. The starting 5 is really good, but the bench is weak so they need to stay healthy.
Season Goals They made it back into the playoffs and return basically the same team as last year. If they don't get out of the gates strong it might be time to make a move just to shake things up. You have one of the best players in the NBA and you need to show him you are trying to win the championship. They should get out of the 1st round of the playoffs.
8. Wizards
They made a big trade and brought in Kevin Love in a deal centered around Otto Porter who had a expiring contract. So they have a big 3 that can stack up with anyone and a pair of young SF's that are ready for a bigger role with Porter gone. They will have a weakness at C with Faired and Triston Thompson.
Key Additions Kevin Love, Triston Thompson
Love will provide them with the best front court player they have had in years and Triston shouldn't be any worse then the rag tag bunch they had last year at Center.
Biggest Question How will Kevin Love fit with Wall and Beal ?
Possible Trades They need to find a upgrade at Center so look for them to search the discount section at the trade deadline.
Season Goals This team Is capable of wining the east with 3 star players that are all in the prime for now. For the most part everyone on the roster has peaked outside of Kevin Knox so this team is built to win now. Just making the playoffs isn't enough they need to win atleast one series.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: 2k18 - 76ers "the process needs results"
2020 & 2021 Power Rankings
7. Celtics
The Celtics are back after a few disappointing years as they made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs last year and had the #1 overall pick in the draft. In a bit of surprise Heyward opted into the final year of his contract. Al Horford has shifted over to a bench role now so they will start the year off playing small. Its been the same core for a while now so maybe they need to make a big trade.
Key Additions Lemelo Ball, Jared Sullinger
The Celtics keep the #1 pick and added some much needed guard depth with ball. He will spend his rookie year getting big minutes off the bench behind Irving and Brown. Sullinger will provide depth.
Biggest Question Should the Celtics trade Heyward for a big man ?
Possible Trades They have a lot of bodies at the 2 and 3 spots and could use someone to help Bamba out down low. The Clippers who are rebuilding would likely jump all over a swap for either Jordan or Griffin as they would shed salary. Marcus Smart and Yubusele could be packaged together for about 13 million bucks in salary.
Season Goals
To win the NBA championship or at least be top seed in the East to confirm you are back after some down years.
6. Timberwolves
The Timberwolves saw big improvement last year as they added Zion Williamson to go along with the big 3 of KAT, Wiggins and Butler. The PG spot is still a weak area for them as they will try and get by with James and Jones. Don't let Zion's 82 overall trick you he has as much talent as anyone in the NBA
Key Additions Mike James, Markeef Morris,
Mike will compete for the starting PG spot and Morris will provide detpth at backup SF.
Biggest Question Who can they find to upgrade the PG spot ?
Possible Trades Dieng's 17 million mixed in with Jones means they can offer a expiring deal to just about anyone in the NBA. With so much star power in the starting lineup they just need a role player or even a young guy with upside. They will likely attach a future 1st to any offers.
Season Goals They are loaded with talent and a mix of young guys and veterans. Jimmy Butler is on the wrong side of 30 so you have to keep that in mind. The Rockets are on the way down so they need to find a way to get past Golden State and make a deep playoff run.
5. Suns
Last year was suppose to be the suns year and they came into the season with huge expectations. They failed miserable and was one of the worst teams in the NBA and on top of that dropped out of the top 5 of the draft. They lost Lopez to the expansion draft and Mike Conley opted into his player option. They have to decide if Bender or Chriss are in their long term plans after no team made a bid for them in RFA.
Key Additions Cole Anthony, Marial, Alex Len
Cole was the top pick and gives them a future option to replace Conley. Marial is also a rookie and will see playing time this year as Len provides depth. They two rookies play the first few months could decide if this team is buyers or sellers.
Biggest Question Will the suns live up to high expectations this year ?
Possible Trades When you look at this roster and see all key players early 20's you notice that Conley at 33 doesn't fit. If they aren't in the playoff race at the all star break they will have to look at trading him. They should be able to get a 1st round pick from a playoff team for him.
Season Goals Its hard to figure out the suns they have had young promising players for years and haven't reached the playoffs in forever. They don't need another young asset they need to get some W's and reach the playoffs. They have two young studs in Booker and Porter and now just need another young guy to step up and to iron on team chemistry.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: 2k18 - 76ers "the process needs results"
2020 & 2021 Power Rankings
4. Lakers
Year 1 with Klay and George was a success as the Lakers won a playoff series. They aren't a old team as both those guys are only 30, but now the pressure shifts toward expecting a championship. They will not have cap space so to improve the team it must be done with trades.
Key Additions Mason Plumlee, Al Jefferson
The lakers got lucky and signed Plumlee to be the starting Center as without him they didn't have many options. All they really need is for him to be solid on defense and rebounding. Al is insurance incase he gets hurt and Weber can defend.
Biggest Question If they want to make a move Larry Nance and a 1st round pick is likely what they will offer. If Lonzo stays healthy they only area that might need improving is a big or maybe some bench depth.
Season Goals They are in the luxury tax with plenty of stars on the roster so like everyone in the west the goal is to beat the Warriors. They have a very talented roster so no reason they can't beat them.
3. Knicks
Lebron seems to be ageless he is 35 and still going strong and he has said he will play for atleast 1 more year. The got lucky and lost Tim Hardaway for free in the expansion draft so that allowed them to resign George Hill, sign Chris Bosh and lock Hernangomez down for 3 years.
Key Additions Chris Bosh, Pau Gasol, Evan Turner
Biggest Question What moves can be made to help LeBron's chances of winning a title ?
Possible Trades The bench is pretty solid, but it makes sense for them to trade future 1st and help the chances of winning a title. The problem is you don't have any dead weight salary wise so you might have to trade a vet like Hill or Bosh.
Season Goals
Lebron is 35 the only goal is to win the championship
2. Spurs
The Spurs have officially shifted away from being a old team to one in its prime and while the supporting cast isn't the best in the world if everyone stays healthy its good enough to win a title. Mitchell Robinson and Murray need to take there game to the next level.
Key Additions Marcus Morris, Eric Bledsoe
Eric will come in and start at PG pushing Caruso to the bench who was solid last year. Morris will be a key player off the bench
Biggest Question Can Murray get his production to match his overall and be the 2nd option ?
Possible Trades Its going to be hard for them to make a major move as everyone making big $ is a key part of the team.
Season Goals They need to find a way to get past the Warriors and make the finals.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: 2k18 - 76ers "the process needs results"
Can anyone Beat the Warriors ?
The Warriors looked beatable last year they was the #3 seed and had lost Klay Thompson in FA. They fixed the hole at SG with a midseason trade for Waiters and ended up winning the championship for the 5th time in 6 years.
The scary thing for the rest of the league is that the Warriors are better this year then last as Green and Bell are locked up longterm while Dinwiddie and Gallinari are upgrades to the bench. They have 7 guys on the bench rated between 77 and 79 with both young and old guys in that bunch. They was able to convince Gallinari to sign for the league minimum when he started out the offseason looking for over 15 million.
They also have the pieces to make some moves if they need too with 16 million of expiring contracts for Waiters and McCaw plus the 7 million of Kevin Looney. So they could flip those to Denver for Gary Harris who is under contract for next year and a little younger then Waiters. They also have some 1st round draft picks that can be traded.
Durant and Curry are both 32 so they should still have a few more years of being able to carry the scoring load for the team with role players around them. If anyone in the West is going to beat them its likely going to be the Lakers. It may be getting old to see the Warriors always winning the title for this year though the title will still go through them.
Key Additions Spencer Dinwidddie, Danaro Gallinari
Biggest Question Can the Warriors make it 6 titles in 7 years ?

Re: 2k18 - 76ers "the process needs results"
76ers Draft Another Big
The 76ers drafting late in the first round was lucky that Bryan Penn Johnson was still on the board. Bryan is a 7 footer who played at Washington with really good upside. He will likely spend his first year in the G league as he is only 19 years old. He should be able to rebound right away and eventually should be able to hold his own on defense. He will have a chance at playtime as Holmes was taken in the expansion draft and Ben Simmons will start at SF. He will be behind Shareef O'neal for playing time as the backup PF. If he can improve his scoring he has the potential to be a starter caliber player in a few years.
Stretch 4 Fills Out the Roster
The 15th roster spot the 76ers signed former spurs PF David Bertans who is unlikely to see any meaningful minutes this year. He was signed for his ability to shoot as stretch PF with his A- 3 point rating. They have liked to have a stretch 4 on the bench in the past so he will play a similar role to Mike Scott from a few years ago. Bol Bol another big drafted last year will be the starting PF and is expected see around 35 minutes a game.
