#4 Bucks vs #5 Raptors Preview

              Overview
The Bucks have been stuck in the same place for years with the same basic roster and 1st or 2nd round playoff exit. They have one of the better players in the NBA and have failed to even get close to winning the East. They are a very talented team just without much size.

The raptors were suppose to be rebuilding and somehow got the 5th seed despite having the weakest roster in the playoffs. They are several teams not in the playoffs that are way more talented then they are on paper. They are a balanced team with some depth just don’t have the stars to get past the 2nd round. They are a team with a lot of veterans in place so a quick exit could start a full fledge rebuild around the young all star PG.

              Major Injuries
SF Chucky Adrien - former 5th overall pick who is a backup SF for the raptors

              Key Matchup
              Anunoby vs Greak Freak

OG is one of the best defenders In the NBA has a huge job ahead of him of him. If they want to pull off the upset he must slow him down.

              What's to Gain / Lose
The raptors are playing with house money as nobody expected them to make it this far. This will likely be the last series for Derzon as he will likely shift to a reserve role on a championship caliber team next year. It’s a must win series for the Bucks are you could start hearing trade demands from your star player. Even if they make it to the 2nd round Maker and Middleton could be gone as both have expiring contracts.

#3 Pistons vs #6 Bulls Preview

                Overview
If you are new the Pistons have surprisingly been an elite team in the east from the start. They are just a nightmare of defense with Drummond, Bradley, Beverly, MKG, Stanley Johnson and Jaren Jackson. The loss of Kemba Walker is huge as he is the main and only real scoring threat. They are a unique team that's capable of bring home a title.

The Bulls are slowly getting better just not quite ready to be legit championship contenders. They have the players to pull off the upset here especially with the Pistons short handed. They have R.J Barrett who is a all star, Robert Williams a former defense player of the year, Mushidi just won this year’s 6th man award and veterans guys like Heyward, Levine and Dedmon.

                Major Injuries
Kemba Walker (90 ovr) Will miss the whole series and should be back for round 2.

                Key Matchup
Beverly / Reggie Jackson vs Zach Levine

With no Kemba Walker the PG match up gets more attention this may be the weak spot for both teams starting lineup.

                What's to Gain / Lose
Both teams have expectations of making the Eastern Finals and the path to the finals for whoever wins is brutal and likely to hard to overcome. If the Bulls lose they will have to seriously look at making a trade to bring in a star player. The Pistons just need to find a way to survive this round while Kemba is out injured. This should be a fun and long series.

#2 Hawks vs #7 Heat Preview

                  Overview
The heat are finally back in the playoffs and headed in the right direction after being saddled with no draft pick and bad contracts for about 5 years. They heat have depth at bigman just none of them on the level of what the hawks have.

Anthony Davis shocked the NBA world when he joined the Hawks this summer. A big reason he decided to was to team up with Dan Little the #1 overall pick who is already up to 85 overall as a rookie. They also have Ayton a elite Center and a lot of depth at Guard and SF. The Hawks should win this one pretty easy.

                  Major Injuries
Hamidou Diallo the starting SG has missed pretty much the whole year

                  Key Matchup
Anthony Davis vs Qi / Bam

Bam and Whiteside both aren't 100% so Qi will get the most minutes against Anthony Davis.

                  What's to Gain / Lose
Davis signed a short-term deal so a lot of pressure is on the hawks to win and prove to him are headed in the right direction. The Heat aren’t expected to win the series so just getting it to 6 games would be nice. This is a big series for Justice Winslow who is in the final year of his contract. The heat should have cap space and will be a player in FA with a good showing here.

76ers Sleep Walk During Regular Season

The 76ers made it to game 7 of the NBA finals last year and return basically the same team this year. They are some small changes like Joe Ingles no longer being in the rotation and Justin Anderson traded away. On paper this year’s team should have been better as Luke Samanic is a big improvement at both F spots off the bench. Paul Milsap and Tyreke Evans provide veteran insurance off the bench and the young big's BPJ and Shaq's son are better then last year.

In the end none of the matter and the 76ers got the 8th seed finishing below .500. The 76ers just never got it going in the regular season and came dangerously close to missing the playoffs and only made it in via the tiebreaker. They will come in as the 8th seed and right off the bat face the team nobody wants to see the Boston Celtics.

The 76ers tried make some moves at the deadline just didn’t have the salaries to match to make a big move. They looked at trading Paul Milsap and T.J McConnell that would have only got them to about 17 million. The Nuggets in the end didn't want to give up Gary Harris as they were in a playoff race. The 76ers couldn't find another trade for a wing that made sense so ended up not making one. It will be easier to make a big move this offseason when Collin Sexton is making 20 million per year.

The Celtics are a nightmare with two elite defense rebounding bigs in Jordan and Bamba. Kyrie Irving is elite and not far behind is the other ball brother and Jaylon Brown. A missing name is Jayson Tatum who is injured and will miss the series. This is a huge win for Philly and could be the deciding factor when all is said in done.

Lets hope the 76ers will be able flip the switch now that the playoffs are here because they sleep walk through the regular season and now will be paying the price.

                    Major Injuries uska
Jayson Tatum (87 ovr) being out for the series is huge and will push more playing time for Stauskas.

                    Key Matchup
                    Ben Simmons vs Nik Stauskas

Nik doesn't start he will however see close to 27 minutes a game and have to guard Ben a lot. This is where the loss of Tatum really hurts and Ben has to take advantage of Nic's lack of defense during this time.

                    What's to Gain / Lose
Everything is to gain as the winner gets a easier 2nd round matchup avoiding the Hawks and Pistons. These are two rival teams who should see each other a lot during the next 5 + years and a reamatch of last years Eastern Finals. The Celtics will not be able to bring back this same team next year as they are up against the hard cap so Jordan is likely gone. The fans of Philly have waited long enough they want a title.

#1 Warriors vs #8 Mavs Preview

                      Overview
We have lost count of how many titles the Warriors have won and despite changes they never miss a beat. Steve Kerr is now coaching the Spurs and Klay has been in LA for a few years. Last year was the first year they didn’t win a title since the blew the 3 to 1 lead to the Cavs. This roster looked like the weakest in a long time and still they won 70 games with defense role players surrounding the big 2.

The good news Dallas is back in the playoffs the bad it’s the 8th seed and the roster is to talented to not be making it to the 2nd round. They have 2 star players in Bagley and Smith and a lot of really good pieces around them. This years #2nd overall pick Saramango won rookie of the year. The mavs are a very deep team with a good mix of young guys and vets

                      Major Injuries
SG Bryan Antoine (81 ovr) – The teams starting SG will miss the series the mavs have depth at the position

                      Key Matchup
                      Dennis Smith vs Stephen Curry
Dennis is the 2nd option for the Mavs and if they are going to pull off the upset then he has to play just as good as Steph does.

                      What's to Gain / Lose
It’s hard to see the Warriors losing this series as they are rolling now. Curry and Durant are both FA’s so if they don’t win the title this would be 2 years in a row and both are close to mid 30’s. Would one of them consider moving to another team if they lose early? The window for the Warriors dynasty is coming to a end and this is a pivotal year. The mavs days of having cap space are also coming to a end as soon they will be paying max $ to the young core.

#4 Nuggets vs #5 Thunder Preview

                        Overview
The Nuggets are a fun team they have two star in players Isaiah and Jokic with a young core surrounding them. They aren’t a good defense team and have some holes at backup PF/C. They should be the favorites and are expected to advance for the first time in a really long time.

The Thunder are another team that’s been stuck in the early playoff exit and that’s not likely to change this year. Russell is still elite even as he gets close to mid 30’s just the big 3 of him Carmelo and Adams aren’t good enough to win a title. The bench is one of the weakest in the playoffs. They still have Westbrook so the only chance they have of making noise is to carry the team on his back.

                        Major Injuries
                        None

                        Key Matchup
Carmelo Anthony vs The Other Antitokounmpo

Carmelo is the 2nd leading scorer for the Thunder while SF is the weak spot for Denver

                        What's to Gain / Lose
Even if OKC get the win here they have no real shot next round against Golden State. Its likely going to be time to make some major moves and trying to get Russ some help as his days of being elite are coming to a end. They may even have to do the unthinkable and trade him while they can still get some major value for him. A series win here for Denver would make everyone happy a loss likely means its time to go younger without Isaiah.

#2 Timberwolves vs #7 Grizzles Preview

                          Overview
The Timberwolves surprised the world last year and blew out the 76ers in game 7 to win the title. They have 4 stars in Butler, KAT, Wiggins and Zion Williamson. They aren’t a perfect team as they are weak at PG and the bench outside of Patton. Zion is much better then his overall shows he is.

The Grizzles are a odd team they have as much depth as anyone in the league. The problem they don’t have a superstar and are heavy at SF. With the two players they have hurt it will be a little easier then normal figuring out who gets the minutes.

                          Major Injuries
T.J Warren (84 ovr) - He got hurt the last few days of the regular season Akot will soak up his minutes
Derrick Walton (79 ovr) - Backup PG could return if it goes 7 games

                          Key Matchup
                          2nd Unit
The Grizzles have depth and the Wolves don’t so the 2nd unit for Memphis has to stand out here.

                          What's to Gain / Lose
Nobody expects Memphis to win here so they are playing with house money here. They do have to pick out a few players to be the core and remove the logjam for minutes. The Wolves should win here easy and just need to come out of this healthy

#3 Spurs vs #6 Trailblazers Preview

                            Overview
It looked like the blazers were going to rebuild and then they resigned all of the big 3 to make one last run at wining the West. When you look outside the big 3 they have a ton of depth at bigs with Collins, Mccoy and Swanigan. The biggest issue is SF where its Evan Turner and young Little. If they can get solid play from the SF spot they could surprise as they have top end talent and a good bench.

The spurs have two elite players in Leonard and Murray for the series with a cast of average players around them. They will need Robinson back healthy if they want to make a deep postseason run. The Spurs should win this one just going up against Minnesota next round is where the run likely ends.

                            Key Matchup
                            Kwai Leonard vs Evan Turner

Leonard has no excuses to not dominate in this matchup

                            Major Injuries
Mitchell Robinson (83 ovr) – One of the best players on the spurs and the teams starting PF will be greatly missed the series

                            What’s to Gain / Lose
The blazers doesn’t have quality years left in them infact this could be the last serious chance they have. They were very lucky to get everyone back this past off season and are another team that could look at a major shakeup with a early playoff exit. This is year 1 with new coach Steve Kerr and they could be forced to move on from some veteran players like Bledsoe and Vucevic this offseason. If they can win this round that should be enough to please the fans and come back next year with a new look team.

                                Boston - Game 1 - 2022 1st Round

                                Major Injury

The 76ers had a comfortable lead at half and then Boston would come back to take the lead in the 4th. A late rally in the last few minutes would give the 76ers a huge game 1 win on the road.

That is not the story of the game as the only thing anyone is talking about is Kyrie Irving who went down with a high ankle sprain. He will miss 2 to 4 weeks so he will be out for the rest of the series. When you factor in Boston being without Jayson Tatum already that's two of Boston's best players who are injured and won't play the rest of the series. When you factor in Philly taking game 1 on the road Vegas has now shifted the odds to the #8 seed 76ers advancing to round 2.

The youngest of the Ball brothers and former 1st overall pick had to step up and play 45 minutes and was horrible shooting only 9 of 35 from the field and 4 of 14 from 3. Stauskas did his job scoring 21 points and hitting five 3's while Bamba grabbed 22 rebounds.

Ben got a triple double with only 3 turnovers and as you will see below some highlight passes and he even grabbed 5 offense rebounds. Samanic scored 19 points off the bench as 8 players scored in double figures. If you remember last year Boston destroyed Philly on the glass and that wasn't the case this game as Philly was +13
