Sacred Heart cruised the remainder of the way as St. Francis couldn't get close enough to cause concern.

What’s Green’s field goal percentage on the season? He’s certainly scoring a lot, but his efficiency seems to leave some to be desired in some of these games. Looks like he shot well against Wagner, though!

Green is shooting 38% from the field and 37% from 3. The problem with him is he's only 5'10 so it's hard for him to score in the paint and I have to rely on his jump shot to get points. He definitely had one of his most efficient games against Wagner, hopefully he builds off of that!

The Red Flash jumped out to an early double digit lead, building it as high as 18 at one point until the Hawks closed the first half on a 8-2 run to make the score 38-26.

The second half was similar to the first as the Red Flash started off on a 10-0 run to push the lead to 20+ points. Except the Hawks didn't have an answer as the Red Flash coasted the remainder of the way.

The Red Flash was led by Junior Guard Matthew Green, as he scored 24 points in the victory. Emanuel Eisentrout came off the bench and scored 12 points. St. Francis (PA) vs. Fairleigh Dickinson
                          March 1st, 2008 @ Rothman Center

St. Francis (PA) is your Northeast Conference Champion as they defeated Fairleigh Dickinson tonight, 86-71.

St. Francis started this game off hot as they opened up an early double-digit lead. However, Fairleigh Dickinson wasn't going down without a fight as they wouldn't let the Red Flash pull away as they finished the half on a 8-0 run to cut the lead down to 10.

Fairleigh Dickinson continued to battle as they brought the lead down to 5 points, but St. Francis then went on a 10-0 run to seal the victory.

Matthew Green scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Red Flash to victory. Ellis Matthews scored 13 points and had 6 steals. Taj Lagana scored 12 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and dished out 5 assists.

Garret Fary scored a team-high 13 points to lead the Knights. Laurie Seymour had a double-double as he scored 12 points to go along with 10 rebounds.

Coach Ellis has lead the Red Flash to their first conference title since 1991. He had this to say after the game:

"I'm so proud of this team, through all the ups and downs of this season. This team battled all season long and I couldn't be more proud, this team was only picked to finish in the middle of the pack during the preseason polls and they went out and proved everyone wrong. Although we're extremely happy with this accomplishment, we know there is still work to do as we need to go out and win the conference tournament".

St. Francis (PA) who clinched the first seed in the conference tournament, plays 8th seed Quinnipiac in the first round of the Northeast Conference next week.
