Tovarich: Luckily they played like a 14-15 9 seed in the second half. My cardiologist probably wouldn't let me deal with another half like the first. I don't know how we withstood the stretch where they scored 7 possessions in a row and we missed 7 layups in a row.
Reporter: If your team can't make a layup, why not try something else?
Tovarich: Because it's a layup. I know someone's standing near us while we attempt the layup, but it's a layup. It should be executed far more frequently than we manage. They should have kept pressing, it seemed like we were banned from making shots against the press. We got their starting C 2 fouls in 2 minutes. Depth is supposed to matter. It should then be easier to score on the backup. And somehow it wasn't really.
Reporter: You always say your goal is to be hyper aggressive and go for steals, you forced 21 turnovers, how do you feel about the defense?
Tovarich: Tremendous. The press was moderately effective, but a lot of that was half court passes we stole too.
Reporter: How about your guard fouling out?
Tovarich: I've never seen a guy get called for 5 ticky tack reach in fouls. Luckily of all the people on the floor for it to be, it's best it was him. I can't lose Stivers or Tamayo but it seemed like the refs were determined to foul him out on anything they could find.
Reporter: Next up is the Cajuns. You had a pretty easy time with them with both games in the regular season. Does that mean anything here?
Tovarich: No. Their season is on the line and even when it's not, we get some superhuman performances. I expect them to do the same.
Reporter: You're ranked in the top 5 by the media, but only 20 by the coaches. How do you feel about that?
Tovarich: The coaches are probably more accurate, but that seems like a crazy disparity.
