Tovarich: That was looking nice and easy for a while, 20 point lead. The backups were pretty disappointing. Every time I put them in, the lead would shrink to about 11 or 12 and I'd have to sub the starters back in. They got a couple baskets here and there, but I didn't care much for their defense or their shooting.
Reporter: Were you making a statement by never pressing?
Tovarich: No. Just never felt necessary. I almost put it on a couple times in the second half when the lead shrunk.
Reporter: Why fewer 3's than normal?
Tovarich: They pressed a lot, so that leads to some layups. They were almost exclusively in man, not as easy to get open 3's against that, so we mainly shot those when they were in the occasional zone. Only Tamayo really hit any though. Thank goodness for him.
Studbucket: Was Boston College your biggest win?
Tovarich: According to the rankings, they are. Most of the power schools I've always scheduled turned out to be disappointing. On paper, we're allegedly just slightly better than Boston College(86-85). Georgia Tech was better than us and that was on the road and the margin was similar, so I'd say Georgia Tech was our best win, just slightly over this one. We may see top-5 Marquette who's rated 93 in Hawaii and then we get Texas A&M at home, who's rated at 89, so either of those will end up being our best win if we can get it.
