Tovarich: Luckily our big guys dominated. Kovacevic was tremendous breaking the press. We allowed a lot of 3's to keep them in it. The bench was pretty brutal outside of Deren.

Reporter: Is this a team of destiny coach?

Tovarich: Well, that phrase is less bad than Game of the Century, but no, I still expect to lose somewhere. Tennessee on the road. Alabama's still in the top 10 despite their loss the other night. The whole SEC tournament has been awful for us so far. I don't think there's a 40-0 in our future. I hope to get a loss out of the way before the NCAA tournament.

Reporter: We're almost to the final week of recruiting. Do you expect the class to come together?

Tovarich: I think we're a lock for 3 or so guys. We're chasing Tennessee on one. UNLV and USC can steal one if they open up a scholarship. USC has a guard who could go to the NBA early if he wanted. I think we're safe on UNLV getting us unless they have someone unhappy who wants to transfer. Plenty of backup plans, but that's most likely the next coach's problem.

Tovarich: 19 assists is crazy. I've seen opposing PG's put up some crazy numbers, but that's a new high. We tried to leave him in there for 20, but after his touch being magic for everyone else in the 1st half, it was a curse for most of the 2nd, or he could've had Steve Nash-like numbers. Good win though. Rebounding was awful, but they never really threatened despite being 7/10 on 3's in the 1st half.

Reporter: He's only averaging 2.8 assists per game. What was different today?

Tovarich: They played a little zone, so we were able to get some open 3's and we hit them. Assists are largely dependent on other people making shots. Normally we hit the guard or SF outside and they dump it down to the post when we want to do that, but with the zone, it seemed better to maneuver Sanderson around and get a more direct passing lane down low, and they made a lot of their layups in the 1st half. I think he went to halftime with 13. Then suddenly no one could hit anything he threw them after. Who knows.

Reporter: If you can get by Tennessee and Alabama, should you go into the SEC tournament undefeated?

Tovarich: Those are definitely the two hardest. I'm not sure why Florida is so awful. @ Vanderbilt won't be a cakewalk most likely. But Alabama is obviously the toughest. Tennessee I see just fell out of the rankings after climbing into them, but that's a road game, so it won't be easy.

Tovarich: Waking the tightrope again. 77-77 there with 2 1/2 minutes to go. We made 4 in a row. They missed 5 in a row, and that was that. Easily could've gone the other way. Maybe they got tired at the end from only playing 7 people. Still killed us on the boards though.

Reporter: You can clinch the SEC with a win over Alabama, is it important to do it now?

Tovarich: We'd have to lose all 3 not to win it as we have the tiebreaker over them even if they beat us in the only matchup. Nonsense, I know. So, no. I thank the pollsters for voting them 4th instead of 2nd, so I don't have to hear the magic phrase.

Reporter: How much of a challenge was a dominant center like Hellenga?

Tovarich: Yeah, he killed us. Boards, scoring, blocked a handful. I think he got shorted by the statkeepers on blocks. Makes a huge difference. More teams should take note.

Tovarich: The luck was due to run out, and there it did. Can't allow 12 3's while shooting 4/20. Can't get outrebounded like that on top of that. Not much we did well tonight. That PG was out of his mind shooting, really impressive for a guy who averages 8 PPG. Glad to get the inevitable loss out of the way. We'll come back Wednesday for Senior Day with Florida, who's struggling and hopefully bounce back immediately.

Reporter: Should you still be ranked #1?

Tovarich: Yes, and I'd be stunned if we're not. Everyone else still has 3-4 losses more than us.

Reporter: Is it important to win the SEC tournament now so as not to feel like you're going into the NCAA tournament having lost 2 of your last 5 or 6?

Tovarich: Nope, still don't care about that thing. If we win it, great. If we don't, I won't lose any sleep.

Tovarich: OK bounceback I guess. Good to win on SR night. We started all 5. We didn't do a good job on defense again, 9 3's they made. They outrebounded us too. We shot well from 3 this game too though unlike the other day. They got to the line more than us, which hasn't happened to us much. Hopefully we're slumping at the right time and get out of it soon.

Reporter: Why do you think Florida is so bad?

Tovarich: They're rated in the middle of the SEC, so it's a little surprising. Maybe Billy Donovan is finally mentally checked out and ready for an NBA job. You'd assume he'd have gone for one of those a long time ago.

Reporter: Congrats on clinching the SEC championship coach. That's a big deal still, right?

Tovarich: I think I probably ordered that banner before the season. It's not like it's bad. It's just not something I'm interested in celebrating. We expect to win it. We did, great. We're after a far bigger prize.

Tovarich: Still some poor 3-point defense. We shot well from out there too though so as not to make it too interesting. Rebounded decently for once. Got the bench a few extra minutes. They played well too. Hopefully the opponents are getting all the good shooting out of their system.

Reporter: Can you still be the overall #1 if you don't win the SEC tournament?

Tovarich: That should be locked in already in my opinion.

Reporter: Will you try to actually win it though?

Tovarich: Not caring about winning it doesn't equate to not trying. We try to win every game we play. But I'm less upset about these.

Tovarich: Terrible defense. Below average shooting. Sad rebounding. Other than that, we looked awesome.

Reporter: Why should your fans show up to the SEC tournament if you don't care about it?

Tovarich: I didn't tell them to go.

Reporter: Is your disdain for conference tournaments why you're 1-3 here?

Tovarich: I don't think that had anything to do with it. Park destroyed us. We got him in some foul trouble so he didn't go for 20 and 20. Couldn't score in the paint while he was in there. Started 2/13 on 3's before we hit a couple late. Started 1/11 after halftime, and by then we were too far behind. They were better. They need the game, we don't. We'll be a 1 seed, maybe THE 1 seed. They need to win 2 more for their season to continue. They're desperate and we're not.

Reporter: You're not going in just 2-2 in your last 4. How do you fix your slump?

Tovarich: That's what 16 seeds are for.
