i had a similar game like that with colgate (which I accidently saved over so it is now done). I came in 22-3 against Holy Cross near the end of the regular season. They pressed the whole time and I had 27 turnovers. They beat me by 41.Rutgers Basketball Legacy: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2038691845Comment

Hawks Edge Penn in OT
Volume 1, Issue 36

Jawan Carter uses the crossover to create for two of his 25
Philadelphia, PA - The Penn Quakers and St. Joseph's Hawks hooked up in a classic Big 5 matchup, and Martelli's group of youngsters stomped onto the Ivy League campus with nothing but confidence. Although Joe's dropped a big game to George Washington only two nights prior to this contest, the Hawks were more than ready to bounce back.
Jawan Carter did his usual Superman impression in the first half, knocking down a couple of threes and making some key steals on the defensive end. The freshman phenom dished off a couple of assists, and really got in sync with his big men. Rob Ferguson had a tremendous first half, and Ahmad Nivins was a beast on the block. Although he didn't provide much scoring, Pat Calathes also contributed on the boards, and played good defense. Despite what was going well for the Hawks, the Quakers just wouldn't roll over, and Ibriham Jaaber hit numerous big shots to keep Penn in the contest. At the end of the first half, St. Joe's held a seven point lead.
The second half was completely different, as Penn hit several three pointers that eventually put them in front by a good margin. Mark Zoller, a Quakers' forward, created matchup problems for the Hawks, as his size made him a rebounding threat, and his range made him nearly impossible to guard. Because of their shooters, Penn jumped out to a seventeen point lead at one point in the second half, and Coach Martelli was forced to take a couple of timeouts along the way. The Hawks guards had struggled mightily until this point in the second half, most notably Carter. However, things quickly started looking up for Joe's, as Nivins and Ferguson threw down a couple of big dunks. Obviously feeding off of the momentum, Darrin Govens and Carter each knocked down a three pointer, and Joe's was well on their way to a comeback. With only two minutes remaining, the Hawks were still down by seven. On their next possession, Ferguson drove the lane and was fouled. After hitting one of two from the line, Joe's came up with a big defensive stop. Nivins got the ball on the other end, and slammed it home, bringing St. Joseph's within four. Another big defensive stop followed, and Carter took the ball upcourt. Immediately, the youngster pulled the trigger from deep, and hit the huge shot to bring the Hawks within a single point of Penn.
The Quakers called a timeout and attempted to regroup after the comeback by St. Joseph's. The conference proved to be successful, as Penn scored a quick bucket in the paint. With only 45 seconds remaining, Joe's stormed up the court and set up their offense. Carter crossed his man, and found Ferguson wide open in the corner for a three pointer, and he nailed the shot. The game was tied, and the most important possession of the game was coming up for the Quakers. Penn inbounded the ball, and raced upcourt. Nivins gambled on a pass, and came up with a huge steal for the Hawks. Holding for the last shot, Carter dribbled around near the halfcourt line. When the clock reached four seconds, he made his move, but clanked the shot off of the iron, sending the game into overtime.
In overtime, it was obvious that both squads were physically drained. The teams exchanged misses the first couple of trips down the court, and the overtime period looked to be a matchup of who could make the least amount of mistakes. Carter nailed a three pointer, giving Joe's the early lead in overtime, and Penn was able to answer back with two points of their own. Govens, who had been particularly quiet until this point in the game, hit two consecutive three pointers to give St. Joseph's their biggest lead in quite some time. Penn had to resort to fouling in the last minute, and the Hawks pulled off the overtime victory, 74-67.

Rob Ferguson drops the tough basket against two SLU defenders
Philadelphia, PA - Early on, the hometown Hawks took care of business, as they jumped out to a twelve point cushion halfway through the half. Jawan Carter set up numerous teammates with easy buckets, but managed to drop a few easy buckets by way of the fast break. Pat Calathes and Rob Ferguson played great inside the perimeter, and really outhustled the St. Louis frontcourt. At the end of the half, Joe's led the Billikens by ten.
The second half started out well for St. Joseph's, as Carter continued to score and dish in front of the home crowd. However, a few minutes into the half, after Joe's had jumped out to a huge lead, the subs came into the game. Afterwards, St. Louis hit shot after shot, and came within four points of Joe's at one time. Once the Hawks' starters returned, though, it was all over, and the Billikens fell 81-70.

Joe's Takes Care of Dayton
Volume 1, Issue 39

Pat Calathes knocks down the leaner for two of his six points
Philadelphia, PA - The Hawks stayed at home for their second straight conference contest, and the visiting Dayton Flyers always pose a problem. The first half went just as predicted, with the two teams trading baskets at a very high pace. The two freshmen guards took over for the Hawks, as Jawan Carter and Darrin Govens put on a show both from behind the three point line and on the break. On the other side, a very balanced attack kept the Flyers at a competitive level. Jimmy Binnie dropped six to lead Dayton, but the Hawks were ahead by four at the half.
After the intermission, Carter and Govens continued to put on a show. Both of the young men finished with over 20 points, and helped Joe's pull away early in the second half of play. The Flyers attempted to comeback with a couple of minutes left, but to no avail, as the Hawks put this one away, 65-56.

Hawks Take Out Villanova
Volume 1, Issue 41

Darrin Govens goes up for an easy bucket on the break
Philadelphia, PA - On Villanova's home floor, the St. Joe's Hawks took on yet another Big 5 opponent. The Wildcats stood at 14-5, good enough for #6 in the nation.
If you were to watch the first half of this game without any knowledge of the 2006 college basketball season, you would have sworn that St. Joe's was the team ranked #6 in the polls. The Hawks ran up and down the floor with confidence, and all of their starters contributed in big ways. Rob Ferguson led Joe's in scoring in the first frame with 12 points, and grabbed two rebounds as well. Although behind by nearly ten points for the entire half, Villanova's Scottie Reynolds played solid basketball, and knocked down a couple of three pointers against the zones of St. Joe's. At the break, the Hawks led by a slim but comfortable margin.
The second half saw the 'Cats rally and comeback several different times. However, everytie Reynolds and Mike Nardi would hit a couple of threes to bring Villanova back in the game, Jawan Carter & Company would pull right back away. In the end, Villanova made the Hawks earn their win on the line, and they did just that, winning 79-66.
