The season got off to a good start for the Irish with a road win over the Drake Bulldogs. Freshman Moses Wafer scored 11 points on 5-5 shooting in the 1st half, and finished with 16 on 7-9. The Irish shot 58.5% from the field for the entire game. Luke Harangody picked up where he left off, recording a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Kyle McAlarney scored 14 points on 6-12 shooting.

Notre Dame will face Bucknell in their home opener.

Notre Dame took care of business in their home opener with a big 1st half. After Bucknell came back to take the lead at 21-20, Notre Dame went on a 21-2 run to end the half that put the Bison away. Luke Harangody led the way with another double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Tory Jackson scored 10 points, while freshman Moses Wafer scored 9. The Irish were able to play their bench a lot in the second half which allowed some of the players who normally don't see action get some playing time.

Notre Dame will face Hampton at home next.

Not much to say other than Lionel Pehoua for Hampton was AWFUL! He scored 0 points, and went 0-17 from the field, including 0-14 from 3. Whenever he got the ball, he shot it. Didn't matter where he was on the court. I was literally laughing at some of the shots he was taking.

McAlarney scored 19 points, including 3-6 from deep. Wafer scored 13, and Harangody and Ayers each had 11. The only highlight for Hampton was a 4-point play by Vincent Simpson.

Notre Dame hosts Stephen F. Austin next.

I really like your game reports. I might use something similar to them for my WVU dynasty. I understand you not wanting to do the full box scores, because, even though they are cool, they take forever to do. I tried to do that for my Devil Rays dynasty, but I got rid of it quickly after spending 30 minutes on it and only getting like halfway through, LOL!

I really like your game reports. I might use something similar to them for my WVU dynasty. I understand you not wanting to do the full box scores, because, even though they are cool, they take forever to do. Glad you like the reports! They're nothing special, but I feel they get all the important stuff across. The boxscores do take forever... I finished the first game recap with them and told myself I don't ever want to do that again.

I really feel I have a legitimate shot at a Big East championship this year, maybe a National Championship. But its only been 3 games, and I really haven't been tested. I can't wait for the A&M, Washington St, and Xavier games. Those should be good OOC tests for me.

Notre Dame easily took care of another inferior opponent, beating Stephen F. Austin by 21. Notre Dame took control early, and never allowed SFA to get close. Luke Harangody dominated down low, scoring 25 points, while Zach Hillesland dominated the glass, grabbing 15 rebounds. Kyle McAlarney and Moses Wafer each had good games, with McAlarney scoring 15 points and Wafer scoring 14.

The Irish will host Air Force at home next.

Great read, it'll be interesting to see how the conference play goes with the Big East looking as strong as it is right now.

With the start of signing period, Notre Dame was able to sign two 4-star recruits, Brent Mayers and WR North. Mayers is 6'6" small foward, and North is a 6'2" shooting guard.

The Irish once again took control of a game against a lesser opponent, outscoring Air Force by 15 in the 2nd half. Moses Wafer led all scorers with a career-high 24 points, including 3/5 from distance. Kyle McAlarney also had three 3's while scoring 15 points. Luke Harangody had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Tory Jackson scored 8 points and dished out 8 assists.

The Irish will travel to face Texas A&M next.
