Week 11: San Francisco (7-2) at New York (3-6)
New York's head coach, Dave Wannstedt, had this team doing poorly so far this season. A lot of the blame was placed on his decision to start rookie QB Rob Woods over Kerry Collins.

      1st Quarter
On the opening drive, the Giants gained a couple of first downs by running the ball, but then Woods threw a ball that was intercepted by Bronson at the New York 46. The 49ers made use of the turnover, reaching the six yard line before Garcia found WR Brandon Lloyd for the score. After forcing the Giants to punt, San Francisco again drove downfield and this time Garcia found Lloyd for a 20 yard score as the 49ers took an early 14-0 lead.

      2nd Quarter
New York's offense could not move the ball at all, and were again forced to punt. The 49ers kept rolling, however, and Barlow added a 2-yard touchdown run and Chandler added a 41-yard field goal to make it 24-0 at the half.

      3rd Quarter
On the opening drive of the half, a 12-yard touchdown reception by Eric Johnson gave San Francisco a huge 31-0 lead. New York finally got something done as Woods found WR Tim Carter beating the secondary for a 79-yard score. The 49ers then drove to New York's 25 before Kevan Barlow fumbled the ball. The fumble was returned all the way to San Fran's 27 and led to an eventual 6-yard run by QB Rob Woods to make the score 31-13 after New York failed to convert the two point conversion.

      4th Quarter
Both teams trade three and outs before San Francisco continued their offensive domination. Garcia connected with Brandon Lloyd once more, this time for a 24-yard score to make the score 38-13. On the ensuing drive by New York, Tiki Barber fumbled at the Giants 40 and a 10 yard run by Fred Beasley was just icing on the cake.

FINAL: San Francisco stomps New York 45-13.

      Player(s) of the Game
      QB Jeff Garcia - 136.3, 24/32, 247 yards, 4 TD
WR Brandon Lloyd - 6 rec, 60 yards, 3 TD

      Key Performances
      RB Kevan Barlow - 26 att, 131 yards, TD - 3 rec, 22 yards
WR Terrell Owens - 7 rec, 78 yards

      San Francisco: 8-2

      Next Game: at Colts (3-7)

Week 12: San Francisco (8-2) at Indianapolis (3-7)

            1st Quarter
After two initial first downs, Indy's opening drive ended in a punt. The 49ers drive took up the rest of the quarter, and ended when Garcia found Owens for a touchdown to give the Niners a 7-0 advantage.

            2nd Quarter
After forcing a punt, CB Drew Jones returned the ball all the way to the Colts' 30 yard line, setting up a short, scoring drive for San Francisco that saw Barlow rush it in off tackle from 3 yards out. Manning then made a mistake and Boulware intercepted the ball at midfield, resulting in yet another drive with a touchdown, this time to TE Eric Johnson, as SF took a quick 21-0 lead. Another interception, this one by Zack Bronson, set up a 31 yard field goal by Chandler to make it 24-0 at the half.

            3rd Quarter
Indianapolis started off the second half with some offense finally, as they drove down the field and Peyton hit Reggie Wayne for a 27-yard strike. A two point conversion by James left the score at 24-8. That score was upped to 31-8 when Garcia hit Barlow out of the backfield for a 7 yard score to end a 9-play, 4:48 drive. Indianapolis followed that up with a 76-yard bomb to Reggie Wayne. This time the two-point attempt failed, and we had ourselves a game at 31-14.

            4th Quarter
San Francisco's offense showed no signs of lifting their foot off the proverbial gas pedal as they made it the length of the field once again. Garcia rolled out and found a wide open TO for the short, 3-yard touchdown. Within two minutes, Drew Jones recovered a fumble at the Indy 36, but after a booth review, the refs determined that the ground had caused the ball to pop loose, and thus Indianapolis retained possession. They were able to draw a little bit closer thanks to Manning hooking up for a third time with Wayne, this for 11 yards. Another failed two point conversion left the score at 38-20.

            FINAL: San Francisco wins 38-20!

            Player of the Game
            QB Jeff Garcia - 127.2, 24/35, 252 yards, 4 TD

            Key Performances
RB Kevan Barlow - 22 att, 92 yards, TD - 4 rec, 56 yards, TD
WR Terrell Owens - 10 rec, 100 yards, 2 TD

            San Francisco: 9-2

            Next Game: vs Eagles (4-7)

Week 13: Philadelphia (4-7) at San Francisco (9-2)
Philadelphia's record was not lying. Part of the reason for the lack of wins, however, was due to McNabb being injured. In his place was rookie QB Darren Maddox, who couldn't quite fill McNabb's shoes.

                              1st Quarter
On Philadelphia's opening drive, they were held to a 3 & out by a wicked San Francisco defense that yielded just one yard on a run on first down. The 49ers took the ball and didn't give it back for another 5:27, as they put together a touchdown drive culminating in a 12-yard reception by TE Eric Johnson.

                              2nd Quarter

On the next play, Mike Rumph came around the end and tackled rookie HB Adam Odewumi for the safety. San Francisco still couldn't muster another touchdown, but their defense in turn also forced a punt from the Eagles, which Drew Jones returned 60 yards for the touchdown to make the score 26-0.
