Ack, another Divisional collapse. Sorry to hear that.

Who were the award winners, and are you importing draft classes (too lazy to check to see if you already answered that).

            OFF-SEASON

            RELOCATED!!
Despite a decent season last year, the Arizona Cardinals have packed up and moved. They have relocated to Los Angeles to become the Sharks. This could lead to an SF/LA rivalry.

            Coaches
In need of a new Offensive Coordinator, the 49ers signed Tom Rathman to the job with a 2 year contract worth $800,000.

            Retirements
WR Antonio Freeman - 34 years old.

            Re-Signings

            Notable Releases
LT Derrick Deese - Too old for the amount of money demanded.
OLB Jamie Winborn - Considered expendable.
OLB Saleem Rasheed - Considered expendable.
TE Aaron Walker - With backup Kendall Johnson improving, Walker also expendable.
WR Cedrick Wilson - Let go due to cap reasons.
RG Ron Stone - Held out and 49ers unable to pay amount demanded.

            Hold Outs
QB Jeff Garcia is currently holding out on his contract which has two more years left. No comment from 49ers brass thus far.

            DRAFT DAY

            Rnd 1 - WR Donald Evans - SIGNED - 4 years, $2.78 mil, $520 K bonus
            Rnd 2 - LT Germaine Danielson - SIGNED - 5 years, $4.29 mil, $650 K bonus
            Rnd 3 - OLB Hank Harrison - SIGNED - 1 year, $500 K, $150 K bonus
Rnd 4 - QB Kevin Horton - UNSIGNED
            Rnd 5 - TE Billy Harrison - SIGNED - 1 year, $300 K, $50 K bonus
            Rnd 6 - OLB Lester Cameron - SIGNED - 1 year, $300 K, $30 K bonus
            Rnd 7 - C Charlie Stuart - UNSIGNED

            Free Agency
WR Antwaan Randle El - SIGNED - 6 years, $18 mil, $5.04 mil bonus
QB Seneca Wallace - SIGNED - 3 years, $9.51 mil, $2.76 mil bonus

            Notable FA's
WR Joe Horn - Signed with the Seattle Seahawks

            Straight From the Owner
"There have been a lot of questions concerning the free agent signings we made. First of all, Randle El was a surprise to us that he was available, and with the retirement of Freeman, it appears he is a perfect fit for the type of offense we run. We needed another WR, and we found our man. He will be the third string WR behind Owens and Lloyd."

"Also, there have been questions about the signing of Seneca Wallace after recently giving Dorsey a new contract. Fact is, we don't know if Ken Dorsey is ready to start for this team. Seeing Wallace in free agency was another surprise. Given the fact that we don't have the money to negotiate with Garcia, we needed another quarterback, and thus we signed Seneca. He will battle Dorsey for the starting job during training camp and pre-season. As for Garcia, like I said, unfortunately we don't have the cap space to negotiate a big deal with him. It's a tough situation as he is a tough and valued competitor, but he is also 36. We'd let him try his luck in free agency, but then we would have to eat the cap hit from that as well. So, it's up to him. If he wants to hold out, he can sit the season out. If he wants to hold out for the last two years of his contract, so be it."

            Training Camp Notes
            - (R) LT Germaine Danielson - Appears stronger than we thought he was.
            - (R) WR Donald Evans - Showing us that his agility is better than he showed at the combine.
            - WR Brandon Lloyd - Quicker off the snap and is jumping even higher.
            - QB Ken Dorsey - Throwing it deeper and with better accuracy.

            Pre-Season Simmed

            - SF 1-3
            - Seneca Wallace awarded QB job for now.

            Injuries
Cleveland RB William Green - Broken Elbow - Season
Kansas City QB Trent Green - Broken Wrist - 9 Weeks

Yeah, for some reason I haven't been playing so hot in the Divisional playoffs. D'oh! I forgot about the Award winners. I'll see if I can still access that, but I don't think I can now that I've started the new season. I do remember Corey Dillon was MVP and Garcia was Best QB. Sorry, this is the second time in 3 seasons I've forgotten the awards.

And I use madden generated draft classes.
