Yeah I had to turn off injuries so Gaines could play. His Health pool was completely drained. Hopefully all the fixes they did with Dynasty this past weekend will let me turn it back on for next year.

There are some crazy matchups in Week 13 with #1 Florida playing FSU, #3 Penn State playing 24 Pitt and #4 Michigan playing Ohio State, so there is still a chance I could move into a Top-4 seed before Championship week. If Arizona State beats Arizona in Week 13 they should be ranked #10/#11 so I could also get a nice bump in Championship week. I don't really want to host a game in the 1st Round.

            CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK RESULTS

#21 Southern Miss won it's 2nd straight CUSA title with a (31-24) victory over Liberty to finish the regular season (12-1) however it doesn't look like that will be enough for the Eagles to make it to the CFP.

24 Toledo won the MAC with a (48-30) win over Western Michigan finishing the season with a (11-2) record but like South Miss, the Mudhens won't make the CTP

#19 Arkansas State finished their season a perfect 13-0 winning the Sun Belt with a (35-13) victory over Troy, but the theme is the same as the Red Wolves are denied a spot in the CTP.

FIU defeated UConn (31-28) to win the American Conference title. This marks the 2nd straight year the Panthers have hit double digit wins finishing (10-3).

UNLV has won it's 2nd Mountain West title since the departure of Boise State, San Diego State, Fresno State, Colorado State and Utah State to the Pac-12. The Rebels took down their instate rival Nevada (20-17). For Nevada it was their first loss in MWC play after a 7-0 regular season.

            SEC
#1 Florida holds onto the top spot in the rankings and earns the #1 seed going into the playoff as they defeat LSU (24-10)

            ACC
#2 Miami and Duke went to Overtime but the Hurricanes came out on top with a (37-34) victory to stay undefeated and hold onto the #2 going into the playoffs.

            BIG TEN
#3 Michigan kept things rolling after trailing 14-10 at the half the Wolverines mounted a comeback win (38-27) over Pitt. Michigan will enter the playoffs as the #3 seed.

            BIG 12

Texas led (21-7) at the half but Oklahoma scored 18 unanswered in the 3rd to take a (25-21) lead into the 4th before the Longhorns scored twice to pull off the victory (35-25) as SR QB Tommy Trout (320 yds 2 TD 2 INT) out played potential Heisman winner Lee Gooch (198 yds 1 TD 1 INT). With the win Texas jumps to #5 in the rankings and will host the 12 seed. The loss drops the Sooners from #13 to #14 in the rankings meaning they will likely miss the playoffs despite a 11-2 record.

BRONCOS WIN SHOOTOUT WITH SUN DEVILS TO CLAIM CROWN!!!

              GAME RECAP
After dominating the Mountain West for years, Boise State missed the Pac-12 title game their first 2 season's in the league falling to Oregon during the regular season. Despite a loss in the 2027 regular season the Broncos still managed to make the Pac-12 title game and take home the Championship with a victory over Arizona State.

Now both teams were back for a rematch boasting 2 of the best offenses in College Football and it showed tonight as they combined 101 points in a shootout.

BSU jumped out a (14-7) led in the 1st Quarter and led (28-13) at the half as Sire Gaines sets a new Boise State single season rushing record and a Pac-12 single season as well.

Gaines now owns the single season and career records for both Boise State and the Pac-12 for touchdowns and the Boise State career rushing yards record.

Arizona State RS SO QB Josh Bee (88 Ovr) did his best to mount a comeback attempt throwing for 4 touchdowns in the 2nd half including 3 in the 4th Quarter as the Sun Devils tie the game up (49-49) with under 2 minutes to play but Boise State turned to Sophomore PK Diego Gutierrez who connects on a 48 yd game winner as Boise State wins it's 13 straight game holding onto the #4 seed as they go into the playoffs with a 1st Round Bye.

                PAC-12 FOOTBALL IS BACK!!!

When Oregon, USC, UCLA, Washington all bolted for the Big Ten, Cal and Stanford to the ACC and Arizona State, Arizona, Utah and Colorado to the Big 12, it looked like the Pac-12 was done forever.. However Pac-12 Commish Bryan Jungling vowed to bring back the original members after singing some major TV deals as well as adding Mountain West powerhouse programs like Boise State giving the Conference Power 5 status once again and it showed as 4 teams from the Pac-12 will represent 12 of the teams playing for a chance at a National Championship this season.

The close loss to Boise State in the Pac-12 Championship game only drops Arizona from #9 to #11 in the rankings as the Sun Devils secure the #11 seed and a 1st Round matchup with fellow Pac-12 member #6 (11-1) Oregon whose only loss this season was to Boise State.

The biggest shock however came in the form of the 12 seed as the Cal Bears despite a (10-2) record jump from #14 to to 12 in the final rankings securing the last spot in the playoffs over (9-3) Georgia who falls from 12 to #13 in the final rankings and (11-2) Oklahoma who fell from #13 to #14 after their loss to Texas in the Big 12 title game.

Oklahoma and Georgia were not the only 2 noteworthy teams the Bears beat out for the final spot.

(10-2) Louisville seemed like a lock but a Week 13 loss to a unranked Kentucky team dropped them to #15.. SMU despite a (10-2) record is overlooked due to their (50-45) loss to N. Texas and their (33-0) shutout against Texas.

(13-0) Arkansas State, (12-1) Southern Miss and (11-2) Toledo join the list as well.

Here is a look at the Final Bracket.

12 (10-2) Cal vs #5 (12-1) Texas with the winner facing #4 (13-0) Boise State in the Cotton Bowl

#9 (10-2) Penn State vs 8 (10-3) LSU with the winner facing #1 (13-0) Florida in the Sugar Bowl

#11 (10-3) Arizona State vs #6 (11-1) Oregon with the winner facing #3 (12-1) Michigan in the Rose Bowl

#10 (10-2) Oklahoma State vs #7 (10-2) Tennessee with the winner facing #2 (13-0) Miami in the Orange Bowl.

**Some interesting matchups with Texas having to go through Boise State if they want a chance at a repeat run for a National Championship.. LSU possibly getting a rematch with Florida in what many could consider to be a home game at the Sugar Bowl.. Oregon/ASU battling for the chance to play in a Rose Bowl against Big Ten Champion Michigan who is looking to make a run at another National Championship and #2 Miami getting to play a home game in the Orange Bowl.

                  BRONCO NEWS

                  ESPY'S

JR QB Tavien St Clair finished 3rd in the Heisman voting after a stellar season that saw him pass for 4366 yds with 35 TD and 10 INT, well also rushing for a career high 773 yds and 9 scores.. St Clair's season isn't over yet though as he still can add to those #'s before the season ends but all signs point to St Clair as a 1st Round Draft pick and possibly the #1 QB taken in this year's draft despite still having a year of eligibilty.

WR Kelian Bettis joined St Clair at the Heisman ceremony finishing 5th in the voting. Bettis however didn't go home empty handed as the Redshirt Sophomore wins the Fred Bileinikoff Award" given to the "Best WR" Bettis in just his 2nd season has continued to put up record setting #'s as he surpassed last year's # of 104/1279/17 with 105 receptions for 1514 yds and 18 TD's this season #'s that like St Clair he can still add too come playoff time.

SR RB Sire Gaines will leave Boise State as one of the best RB's in school history and was rewarded for his record setting season by taking home the Doak Walker Award given to the nation's Top RB. Gaines enters the playoffs already with a record setting 31 TD's well rushing for 1450 yds. It was Gaines 3rd straight 1000 yd season since becoming the team's #1 RB.

SR TE Joey Olsen has played a major role in the Boise State offense this season posting 60 receptions for 842 yds and 6 TD's as he finished 3rd in the John Mackey Award.

                  FINAL GOODBYES

With a 1st Round/Top 10 projection it's pretty much a given that starting QB Tavien St Clair is playing his final games during this playoff run joining 17 Seniors including Gaines, Olsen, Cameron Bates ect.. as well. However reports coming out of Boise is several key backups are exploring their options with the Transfer Portal going into the playoffs. One of those players is backup QB Tanner Applewhite. (Playing time) Applewhite has appeared in 5 games this season completing 43/62 pass's (69%) for 628 yds with 4 TD and 1 INT. We are also being told that several players on the Defense are also exploring their options including MIKE LB's RS SO Maurice Nwangwu (Playing Style) and Devonta Cushenberry (Playing Style). Nwangwu and Cushenberry have combined for 114 tackles with 9 TFL, 3 Sacks and 2 INT's.

MILLER ON SHORT LIST FOR SEVERAL SCHOOLS
In just his 2nd season as Boise State's HC, Matt Miller has quickly made a name for himself across the nation as one of the Best Offensive minds in college football.. Even though Boise State has struggled during the regular season with Recruiting, Miller has also shown his ability to navigate the Transfer Portal landing several key players that have helped BSU finish in the Top-30 in Recruiting and to post a 25-2 record since taking over for Coach Danielson.

Reports are Miller is being targeted by Ohio State, West Virginia, Colorado and Utah as their schools next HC.. Ohio State has fired Ryan Day after a 7-5 season that included a Week 13 loss to Michigan. West Virginia's Rich Rodriguez is calling it a career well Utah has parted ways with former BSU OC Eliah Drinkwitz.

Boise State jumped out to a early (17-0) lead as Tavien St Clair finds Kelian Bettis on a pair of touchdowns early.. The Boise State Defense continued to put in work picking off former Heisman winner Tommy Trout (84 ovr) for a 2nd time setting up Sire Gaines 32nd rushing touchdown as Boise State takes a (24-3) lead into the locker room.

Known more for their high power Offense, the Bronco Defense continued to confuse Trout and held the Longhorns to just another 3 points as BSU goes into the 4th still leading (24-6)..

Trout would rebound from his 2 earlier INT's by throwing a pair of 4th Quarter touchdowns but St Clair would match him score for score as St Clair finds Bettis for the "Hat trick" (3rd score) and then finds Ezekiel Fogg on a nice 22 yd score as BSU makes it (38-20) with under 5 minutes to play..

Trout wasn't done though as he finds SO WR Edward Darnold (90 Ovr) on a 36 yd throw and catch and then takes it himself 14 yds to the house to make it (38-27) with 3:12 to play.

Then it was the Longhorn Defense coming up big as they stop St Clair on a 4th and 1 QB keeper play to get the ball back with 2:32 to play. After failing to find the endzone for 3 Quarters, the Texas Offense found some cracks in the BSU Defense as JR RB Kolin Wilson (87 Ovr) breaks free for a 27 yd touchdown run just 1 play after fellow RB SO Keshawn Davis (92 ovr) broke free on a 23 yd run as Texas covers 50 yds on 2 plays.

Down (38-33) Texas would elect to keep the Offense on the field and try for the 2pt play to make it a 3 point game, but SR SS Travis Anderson comes up big with a sack leaving it a 5 point game.

Texas out of timeouts and with just 1:12 to play on the clock had no choice but try the onside kick but BSU was ready as Dylan Riley recovers.. BSU would just run out the clock as the Broncos advance to the Semi Finals for just the 2nd time in school history.

                          BRONCOS HISTORIC RUN CONTINUES!!
                          Game Recap
After becoming the only team to make the College Football playoffs for 5 straight years (including their real life run in 2024) the Boise State Broncos made history yet again as they defeat LSU in the Semi-Finals to advance to the National Championship for the first time in school history.

BSU jumped out to a early (7-0) lead in the 1st Quarter and overcame (2) 1st half INT's by JR QB Tavien St Clair holding the Tigers to a pair of FG's off the turnovers as they took a (14-12) lead into the 2nd half.

                          Coach Miller
"Holding LSU to 4 FG's in the 1st half was huge especially after the 2 INT's.. We just need to do a better job of putting Tavien in position to make plays in the 2nd half"

St Clair would come out in the 2nd half and play like the star and #1 Overall pick many think he will be.. The Junior QB struggling with with some coverage reads played smart in the 2nd half tucking the ball and making plays with his feet in the 2nd half including rushing for 68 yds and 2 scores finishing the game with 90 yds on the ground to go with his 420 yds through the air as Boise State expands their lead to (28-19) going into the 4th. After hold Gaines out of the endzone for 3 Quarter the Tiger Defense got a healthy dose of Gaines inside the redzone in the 4th Quarter as the Senior RB delivers 2 more touchdowns as Boise State cruises to a 17 point win.

BOISE STATE TAKES HOME THE HARDWARE!!!
                            GAME RECAP
Head Coach Matt Miller has officially hit "Legendary" status in the Boise State history books as he becomes the first ever Boise State HC to win a National Championship doing it in just his 2nd year on the job

Boise State jumped out to a early (7-0) lead in the 1st Quarter and would lead (14-7) at the half as Senior RB Sire Gaines scores his 35th and 36th touchdowns of the season.

Michigan opened the 2nd half with the ball and quickly tied up the game (14-14) but JR QB Tavien St Clair would lead a 8 play scoring drive capped off by a 25 yd TD strike to SR TE Joey Olsen.. For St Clair it was his 41st passing TD of the season.. Then after forcing a Michigan punt, Boise State would add to the lead as Diego Gutierrez connects on a 46 yd FG to make it (24-14) going into the 4th.

Michigan would cut the lead to (24-21) on the open drive of the 4th as JR QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele (91 Ovr) throws his 2nd touchdown of the game but Boise State answers the score with another of their own as St Clair caps off a 11 play drive with a QB keeper taking it 13 yds to the house for his 12th rushing touchdown of the season.

Down (31-21) Michigan was forced to settle for a 33 yd FG with 4:41 to play in the game make it (31-24). Not looking to take any chances Boise State would stick to the ground game trying to remove valuable time off the clock but with 2:12 to play Boise State was forced with a decision to kick a 23 yd FG or go for it on 4th and 3. Miller elected to bring on Guiterrez who had only missed 4 FG's all season but the short kick hit the upright and bounces off giving Michigan a chance.

The Boise State Offense has been the hero almost all season but tonight the hero role goes to JR CB Kyle Marks as Marks picks off Sagapolutele inside the redzone as he seals the BSU victory..

                              END OF SEASON TEAM REPORT

                              ST CLAIR TURNS PRO
Former Ohio Stat Transfer Tavien ST Clair will forgo his Senior season and enter the NFL Draft after leading Boise State to the National Championship win.

St Clair followed up a 2027 season in which he threw for 4539 yds with 48 TD and 10 INT with a 2028 season in which he sets a new Boise State school record with 5363 yards with 41 TD and 13 INT.

St Clair also brought his ability to make plays with his feet this season, finishing just 55 yds shy of a 1000 yd season.. IN 2027 St Clair rushed for just 363 yds and 3 TD with a 3.2 avg per carry but this season St Clair averaged 6.7 yds per carry totaling 945 yds well scoring 12 TD's.

BATES AND OLSEN BOTH JOIN THE 1000 YD CLUB

SO WR Kelian Bettis set new Pac-12 and Boise State records with 128 receptions for 1808 yds and 21 TD's as finished 5th in the Heisman voting, but Bettis wasn't the only star of this year's receiving room.

Senior Cameron Bates posted a career season with 104 receptions for 1361 yds and 8 TD's. USC transfer Joey Olsen excelled in the starting TE role for the Broncos posting one of the best season's by a TE in school history as he finished with 76 rec for 1066 yds and 7 TD...

If you combine those #'s with the #'s BSU got from their #2 TE C. Loftin (33 rec 552 yds 3 TD) and you get over 100 receptions over 1600 yds and 10 TD's.

GAINES LEAVES BSU AS ALL-TIME BEST RB

When Sire Gaines arrived on campus everyone knew he was going to be special but I am not anyone expected the type of #'s Gaines put up in his career. Gaines posted 1052 carries in his career for a school record 5539 yds (5.3 avg) well scoring 90 TD's (Pac-12 single season, Boise State single season and Boise State career records).

                              BIG SHOES TO FILL
Boise State graduates 17 Seniors and says goodbye to several others via the Portal and NFL Draft however among those 17 Seniors are 5 members of the D-Line that produced some huge #'s with a combined 73 TFL and 40 Sacks..

                              E. Asiate-67 Tackles, 24 TFL, 10.5 Sacks
                              A. Martin-55 Tackles, 17 TFL, 11.0 Sacks
                              L. Sanusi-31 Tackles, 11 TFL, 6.0 Sacks
                              F. Solaita-22 Tackles, 11 TFL, 7.0 Sacks
                              M. Ta'ase-45 Tackles, 10 TFL, 5.5 Sacks

                              TRANSER PORTAL
Coach Miller and the Broncos came away pretty lucky with the transfer portal as they were able to retain several players who were looking elsewhere despite the school coming off a National Championship win.

However one area where Coach Miller was hit hard is QB. With Starter Tavien St Clair taking his talents to the NFL and 3rd string Brian Ridge set to graduate many thought that JR Tanner Applewhite (87 Overall) would take over as the team's starting QB. Applewhite appeared in 4 games this season throwing for 628 yds with 4 TD and 1 INT, but he has elected to join the portal as he looks for more PT. The former Florida State transfer is expected to be one of the Top-5 QB's available in the Portal.

Joining Applewhite will be a key player on the Defense. RS SO Mike LB James Keenroy (82 Ovr) finished the season with 84 Tackles with 4 TFL. He is also joined by reserve CB RS FR Keke Eze (75 Ovr). Eze appeared in 2 games this season recording 1 Tackle.

                              RECRUITING
Miller goes into the off-season with just 7 commitments (1-5*, 5-4* and 1-3*) to this year's class with 21 scholarships available. The Current class ranks #40 Overall and #6 in the Pac-12.

With a roster that returns just 2 scholarship QB's and no current high school QB's signed in this year's class, landing a backup QB in the Portal will be huge for Miller. Also the Top-5 D-Lineman graduating, that will be another key area of focus.
