Re: 2 Teams=2 Dreams (BSU and EWU Quest for Perfection)
It was Week 1 so not everyone played. You will have a game this week.
By the way their is 1 SR and 1 SO ahead of you on the depth chart, so I am guessing that you will be a starter next season but should see some minutes this year.
The game was crazy. My controller shook the entire game, not sure if it was just because the Swamp is crazy or if I had a FR QB... I was really proud of how the guys came through with big plays. Both INT's were picked off by RS FR and Haas,Howard and Lykell were the key to the Offense.Comment

Re: 2 Teams=2 Dreams (BSU and EWU Quest for Perfection)
WEEK 2
GAME PREVIEW
Last year the Eagles struggled losing to both WSU and Washington in the Battle for the Evergreen Cup. So this year Coach Baldwin made it his #1 goal even more then repeating as WAC Champions
Coach Baldwin "I think making EWU known as Washington's team is a big deal to our fans, players and Alumni. It is also a big deal to incoming recruits.. WSU has struggled the past couple of years and UW isn't the powerhouse they use to be, so winning this trophey is a big deal to the instate kids who want to stay close to home"
GAME RECAP
It was a Defensive Battle from start to finish. UW would get on the scoreboard 1st on a 19yd pass from N. Montana to M. Barnett with 1:04 to play in the 1st Quarter. But S. Davis would miss the PAT making it 6-0.
Davis would make up for the miss PAT hitting a 19 yd FG in the 2nd Quarter to give the Huskies the 9-0 lead, but EWU would answer back with a Field Goal of their own (36 yds by FR E. Lewis) to make it 9-3 at the half.
EWU would get the ball to start the 2nd half, but wouldn't need to keep it very long as FR RB D. Stewart again shows big play ability going 42 yds for the score to give EWU the 10-9 lead. UW would battle back though as QB N. Montana would connect on his 2nd TD pass of the day. The Huskies would go for 2pt and fail though to make it 15-10 with 4 minutes to play in the 3rd. Again EWU would keep the ball on the ground and again Stewart would deliver scoring on a 5 yd run to make it 16-15. With a PAT no good to them, EWU would go for 2pt but the pass would be knocked out of Kauffman's hands as the game would go into the 4th.
The Huskies would take the lead with 2:51 to play as S. Davis again comes up big hitting a 27 yd FG to make it 18-16. But the Eagles stayed calm using the run and pass, EWU would drive the ball 80 yds in the final 2 minutes to set up a 24 yd FG by FR E. Lewis with 35 seconds to play. The kick was up and it was perfect as the Eagles pulled out the upset win!!!!!
FINAL SCORE EWU-19 UW-18
KEY PLAYERS
RB D. Stewart-29 carries 99 yds (3.4 Avg) 2 TD's.
WR B. Kauffman-11 rec 179 yds
K E. Lewis-2/2 FG 2/2 PAT
POST GAME COMMENTS BY COACH BALDWIN
"I really felt like the Defense played great tonight. They made some big stops and even though C. Polk had a big day on the ground (26 carries 124 yds) we kept him out of the endzone. I felt like Stewart did a great job of eating up yards and clock, with QB B. Wilson struggling (17/38 245 yds 2 INT) and I can't say enough about Kicker E. Lewis. We knew going into the season, that he would have to come up big and make some huge kicks for us, and he delivered today."
**I Screwed up and saved my BSU highlights over the EWU ones. I totally forgot you could only have so many saved ones at a time, so I don't have any highlilghts for this game**

Re: 2 Teams=2 Dreams (BSU and EWU Quest for Perfection)
WEEK 2
THE 4 HORSEMAN RIDE AGAIN
GAME PREVIEW
After the Broncos big win over #17 Florida in the Swamp in Week 1, everyone around the nation couldn't stop talking about the talented core of Freshman starting for the #7 Boise State Broncos, earning them the nickname "The 4 Horseman". Even though there is more then 4 players who are producing at a big time level, this unit still represents what the 4 Horseman are all about. Conquest (Beating their Opponents) War (Willing to all out Battle the oposing team), Death and Destruction (the Ability to Run, Pass and Play Amazing Defense).
For UTEP 1st year Head Coach Brian Eastridge things wouldn't get any easier. Coming off a 56-0 loss to TCU, the Miners new coach has high expectations replacing Mike Price and needs to show that he has the abilities to turn around a program that won just 1 game last year and finished 0-8 in the MWC.
GAME RECAP
UTEP would strike 1st as QB C. Meger hits S. Smith on a 19 yd TD pass, BSU would then get a slight scare as FR RB R. Howard was forced from the game after a 22 yd run on their opening drive. Howard would be replaced by SR M Kaiserman who would deliever scoring 2 TD's in the 1st (2 yds and 8 yds) to give BSU the 14-7 lead with 3 minutes to play. Then it was FR Corey Haas and Matt Lykell showing their big play abilities once again as the duo hooks up on a 64 yd TD pass to make it 21-7 at the end of 1.
Turnovers would plague the both teams in the 2nd Quarter. UTEP would get on the scoreboard after a C. Haas INT as QB C. Meger hits C. Trisby on a 40 yd strike to make it 21-14. Then after another Haas INT the Miners would drive down looking to tie the game but instead CB B. Moss would get a INT in the endzone to keep the Bronco lead alive.
BSU would open the 3rd Quarter with a 42 yd FG by FR Kicker H. Hill to make it 24-14 and then with 3:23 to play C. Haas would find SR C. Potter on a 80 yd bomb to make it 31-14.. UTEP's QB C. Meger wasn't ready to give up though and would show big play ability as well throwing a 81 yd pass to M. McClure to make it 31-21 with 2:52 to play in the 3rd. However with 12 seconds to play it was Haas again throwing his 3rd TD of the day as he hits SR M. Burroughs on a 64 yd pass to make it 38-21 going into the final Quarter.
Boise State would open the 4th with a huge option play in which FR R. Howard would go 45 yds for the score to make it 45-21, but UTEP woudl answer right back as M. McClure breaks lose and goes 92 yds on the Kickoff to make it 45-27 (2pt fails). With the 2 score lead the 2nd Unit would come in and SR RB M. Kaiserman would make the most of his PT scoring his 3rd TD of the day (34 yds out). But again a Special teams breakdown by the Broncos would allow L. Williams to go 93 yds for the score as UTEP just wouldn't give up (52-34) Coach Pete would answer UTEP's run, by putting FR C. Haas back in the game and Haas would deliver throwing his 4th TD of the day hitting M. Burroughs for his 2nd TD catch (39 yds) to make it 59-34. With Howard still battling injuries and Kaiserman on the bench, RS FR M. Justice would make the most of his only carry on the night going 16 yds for the score with 18 seconds to play as BSU delivers a knockout blow.
FINAL SCORE BSU-66 UTEP-34
KEY PLAYERS
FR QB C. Haas-15/26 426 yds 4 TD 2 INT, 3 carries 27 yds
FR RB R. Howard-16 carries 181 yds (11.3 Avg) 1 TD
SR RB M. Kaiserman-13 carries 104 yds (8.0 Avg) 3 TD
SR WR C. Potter-5 rec 151 yds 1 TD
FR WR M. Lykell-4 rec 103 yds 1 TD
SR WR M. Burroughs-3 rec 124 yds 2 TD
POST GAME COMMENTS BY COACH PETE
"I am really proud of how the running game produced tonight. All 3 backs and Corey did a great job of waiting for their blocks and it worked (Team high 326 yds on the ground with 5 TD's) Howard was amazing playing just 2 Quarters yet producing 181 yds is an amazing feet. He continues to run hard, which can be a benift but also hurt him and us at times as well (Had another big Fumble). Our Special Teams struggled tonight (2 Kickoffs for TD's)
and we gave up some big play's on Defense. I would really like both units step up next week.. It was also great to see Corey distribute the ball and get 3 WR's over 100 yds.. Last week he really built a connection with Matt Lykell, but I was glad to see him go to his Seniors tonight. Moore/Potter/Burroughs have all produced for Kellen and they can do the same for Corey."

very nice blowout win over UTEP man, the 4 horsemen angle is awesome, I like it. Very unique. Can't wait to see how the rest of this season shakes out. Things are looking well so far.Virginia Tech Hokies NCAA 2011 Dynasty Thread :

Re: 2 Teams=2 Dreams (BSU and EWU Quest for Perfection)
Thanks. When I had a BSU Basketball Dynasty I had 4 Big Men who were 7'1, 7'0 6'11 and 6'10 that flat out dominated and won 3 National Titles for me. So hopefully this group of 4 Horseman can produce the same kind of results.Comment
