GATORS QB TYLER MURPHY
STOMPED AT THE SWAMP
Gainesville, Florida - And then there were none. Florida upset Florida State last night to knock off the last undefeated team in all of NCAA FBS football. Florida State was ranked number one in the coaches poll as well as the BCS rankings. Their loss will likely drop them out of the top five in both.
Florida’s Tyler Murphy was the star of the game for the Gators, passing for 184 yards and two touchdowns while running for an additional 80 yards in the win.
Jameis Winston struggled once again, completing just 10 of 29 passes for 166 yards. Winston threw two touchdown passes but also had a pair of passes intercepted. Florida held the Seminoles rushing attack to under 100 total yards.
The Gators must have watched Idaho’s near win over FSU as they used a similar run heavy offense, running the ball 57 times for 200 yards and having Murphy throw just 24 passes.
Florida State will face off against Virginia Tech for the ACC Championship.
Florida is now 8-4 overall and will await a bowl invite
