AROUND THE NATION
TYLER TETTLETON HAS THE BOBCATS PLAYING AT A HIGH LEVEL
OHIO IMPROVES TO 7-0, LOOKING FOR LOVE IN THE POLLS
Ypsilanti, Michigan - With a convincing 33-14 win over Eastern Michigan the Ohio Bobcats are now 7-0 and they’re looking for some love in the upcoming coaches top 25 poll.
“A lot of you guys (the media) say we haven’t faced any real tough opponents. All I can say to that is that we’ve beaten everyone we’ve had on the schedule and that’s all we can do.” Head coach Frank Solich said after the win.
Ohio has beaten two opponents with winning records in Louisville and North Texas. Central Michigan, who Ohio beat 37-28 last week, is now 4-4. The Bobcats’ other four opponents all have losing records.
Aside from hoping to crack the top 25 Solich is also hopeful that quarterback Tyler Tettleton will start getting some Heisman hype.
“Just look at what he’s done. Look at the numbers and then look at the clutch factor.” Solich says.
Tettleton has thrown for 1,666 yards and 18 touchdowns along with six interceptions. His passer rating of 139.3 is second only to Northern Illinois’ Jordan Lynch in the MAC. Lynch’s rating is 139.4.
“We’re just going to keep going out there and beating whoever’s across from us. We can’t control our conference schedule so all we can do is keep winning and hope we can get some love.” Tettleton explained.
Buffalo (6-1) and Bowling Green (4-3) are Ohio’s only remaining opponents with winning records.

Idaho continues their road trip with a game at Ole Miss. The Rebels are the toughest opponent the Vandals have faced thus far. Chad Chalich has been cleared to play after suffering a concussion against Arkansas State two weeks ago but Coach Wilkerson never named a starter.
Players to Watch
BO WALLACE CAN’T WAIT TO FACE THE IDAHO DEFENSE
Quarterback Bo Wallace is probably the best passing quarterback the Vandals have seen to this point. He’s not a big runner but against this defense he probably won’t have to. Runningback Jeff Scott is faster than anyone the Vandals have on their roster, posing a potential problem on the outside. Receivers Donte Moncrief, Vince Sanders and Ja-Mes Logan are all matchup problems for the Idaho secondary. The entire Ole Miss offensive line is very good. Defensively linebackers Mike Marry and DT Shackelford should have a field day.

SLIPPED AWAY
When Ole Miss jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter Idaho could have rolled over and nobody would have held it against them. The Rebels were heavy favorites and this was considered a practice game for them.
Idaho didn’t roll over, scoring 10 straight points to start the second quarter. Their first points came when James Baker capped a long drive with a one yard TD run. After Delancy Parham picked off a Bo Wallace pass Austin Rehkow hit a 42 yard field goal later in the quarter.
Rebels receiver Donte Moncrief took a jet sweep 16 yards for the next score and Ole Miss held a 21-10 lead at the half.
Jerrel Brown scored the only points of the third quarter, a four yard touchdown run. Looking to make it a three point game Idaho went for two and failed. Ole Miss led 21-16 going into the fourth quarter.
Early in the fourth Ole Miss spread the lead with a 13 yard Jeff Scott rushing touchdown. Chalich led his troops back into scoring position and put up the points himself on a four yard run. The point after made it 28-23 Rebels.
Chalich runs it in for six points
Idaho forced an Ole Miss three and out, giving Chalich and the offense the ball with just over four minutes to play.
On fourth and eight Clayton Homme dropped a wide open pass that would have been a first down.
Ole Miss wasted no time scoring on their second play, a 31 yard Wallace pass to Moncrief.
Idaho’s next possession ended with a fumble and Bo Wallace ran it in for four yards out, making it 42-23 Rebels.
Idaho had one last chance to make the score closer but Chalich was picked off by Senquez Golson in the end zone. Ole Miss kneeled on the ball.
The loss drops Idaho to 2-6 and all but eliminates them from bowl competition as they would need to run the table and Florida State looms large in three weeks.

He has 26 receptions for 458 yards, a 17.6 yard average. On defense it’s been mostly a team effort. Safety Xavier Daniels is the top player on that side of the ball. He has picked off two passes. Scoreboard 1st 2nd 3rd 4th Final
Texas State [2-6] 7 3 13 7 30
Idaho [2-6] 22 11 8 8 49
ROUGHSHOD
On the first offensive play of the game Chad Chalich kept on a read option and went 77 yards for a touchdown. It set the tone for the entire game.
Texas State answered with a 75 yard screen and run by tailback Terrence Franks. It looked like Idaho was in for another down to the wire shootout.
That wasn’t the case. Idaho pounded the ball on the ground to the tune of 274 yards and five scores, four of which Chalich was responsible for. Texas State didn’t have much trouble moving the ball through the air but four picks by Idaho’s defense was enough to help the Vandals secure a 49-30 win.
“I think we more than doubled their time of possession. We’ve always hoped to be a little run heavy so maybe we’ve got something to build upon from here on out.” Head Coach Wade Wilkerson Jr. explained after the win.
Idaho ran the ball 47 times and threw it just 20. They converted on four of four two point attempts.
Williams’ TD-saving pick
“It doesn’t matter to me that much.” Chalich said about the run bias of the offense. “As long as I’m a part of it and we win.”
Chalich totaled 157 yards through the air with one interception and a touchdown. He completed 13 of his 20 attempts. On the ground he finished with 137 yards and four touchdowns on 23 carries. He was sacked six times and likely had closer to 200 yards on actual rush attempts.
Idaho is now 3-6 and will host Old Dominion next week.

AROUND THE NATION
UTEP SCORES THEIR FIRST TD AGAINST A&M
UTEP TRAMPLES #3 A&M AT KYLE FIELD
College Station, Texas - In what was supposed to be a rout by Texas A&M over UTEP the tables were turned as the Miners smoked the Aggies by a final score of 35-13.
After jumping out to a 6-0 lead on a pair of field goals by Taylor Bertolet the Aggies gave up two touchdowns in the final five minutes of the first quarter. The first was on a seven yard Jameill Showers to Craig Wenrick pass. Just a few minutes later, following an interception by Aggies QB Matt Davis, UTEP runningback Nathan Jeffery found the endzone from three yards out.
UTEP added two more touchdowns in the second quarter, via a four yard Josh Bell run and a 70 yard Showers pass to receiver Malcolm Trail. UTEP took a 28-6 lead into halftime.
A&M scored their first touchdown of the game late in the third quarter when Matt Davis connected with Mike Evans for a 12 yard touchdown. That would be the Aggies only touchdown of the game.
Katrae Ford scored the final points of the game early in the fourth when he ran in a touchdown from six yards out for UTEP, making the final score 35-13.
“This is just a huge win for our program. We’re all very, very proud of our players.” UTEP head coach Sean Kugler said after the historic upset.
UTEP is now 7-1 overall with a 4-0 conference record. A&M drops to 7-2 overall and likely out of the top 10.
