Re: UNF Ospreys Football: The Newest Addition to the Sunshine State

Meant to get the guide out today but I had to finish up some school work after practice. I've added some more stuff to it and I'll probably continue this weekend which is a three day meaning hopefully I'll have the first game up!

That being said, here's to probably the last call if anybody else wants to make CAPS. I've got the current ones all made as of now. Heres the template:

Thanks man. I actually really wish I would've gotten an actual UNF logo to put on the chest like UCF and USF do, would've been pretty cool. But like I said before, these are definitely my favorite uni's I've made with TeamBuilder. Hate to spoil the surprise but I also made another set for the future but they probably won't be unveiled for quite some time.

Can Ohio State Turn in a Three-Peat?
                • They did in 2014, they did it again in 2015. The Ohio State Buckeyes have a shot at becoming just the third team in college football history to accomplish a three-peat with a trip to the national title game. The No. 1 ranked Buckeyes enter the season with a splitting of first place votes with both LSU and UCLA, they'll open their season against Navy at the Ohio Stadium.

                Ezekiel Elliot; Trophy Man
                • Back in 2015 Ezekiel Elliot brought back to Columbus four postseason trophies including the Heisman. In a move that surprised most, the junior halfback decided to forgo the NFL Draft and return for his senior year at Ohio State. After a dominant 1925 yards rushing, 23 touchdown campaign, everybody will have an eye out for Elliot as he looks to top his season before.

North Florida Plays First Game Next Week
                • UNF made a bold decision by joining the FBS right off the bat. The program will face a difficult task at hand going up against #14 Texas A&M and #13 Florida State to open their inaugural season headlined by over 15 true freshman starters.

                  Poinsette a Commanding Presence

                  Aug. 28, 2016

                  Caleb Poinsette
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Opsreys' success is directly related to the play of the QB, Caleb Poinsette, according to an online report scouting UNF.

The true freshman quarterback will suit up next Saturday as a starter against the No. 14 ranked Texas A&M Aggies. Despite being labeled as a dual-threat quarterback in high school, Poinsette has since adjusted his play to correlate with Coach Jenkins' successful BCU pro styled offense that focuses solely on the pass and handoff.

“It’s different, sure, but sometimes change is good,” said Poinsette. “One of my main goals I had when I came to college was to become a better passer. I think I’ve done just that, I can’t wait for Saturday.”

UNF’s released depth chart shows Poinsette leading an offense of seven fellow true freshmen. Poinsette's will have an offensive line complied of all freshman at his protection, this being a scary sight against the Aggies' top-tier SEC roster featuring Myles Garrett who collected 69 tackles and 3.5 sacks last year as a sophomore.

Over the top of the UNF offense will be TAMU's All-American free safety Armani Watts who joins a ball-hawking secondary.

“It'll be tough, of course, but we're going to give it our all out there.”

Caleb Poinsette will have a trio of senior receivers to work with, all experienced who initially played under Coach Jenkins at Bethune-Cookman. 6'4" Trumaine Tyson leads the core while undersized but speedy brothers Brandon and Henry McNamara conclude the short depth of game-ready receivers. As of now, the depth chart shows tight end Aaron Dobbs, cornerback Brice Hoyte, and strong safety Tyler Douglas fulfilling the final slots at receiver.

UNF will meet with Texas A&M on the road next week at the Kyle Field, Sept. 6 where kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

Your media guide is beautiful. I literally laughed out loud when I got to the bottom and saw you included those ridiculous ads that are everywhere. Specifically the "sexy Asian singles" one haha. I did notice at the top you have "offensive formation" twice instead of one being defensive formation. But other than that it looks great

Thanks for reading that. I think I may do it every season, it really gets a lot of stuff out of the way. And I didn't put those ads lol, those are just what the site generates I guess. Glad you liked it, stay tuned for game one!

Yeah I didn't realize this at first but we actually got a lot of recruiting steals. They're going to develop well but we're still very low on overall. And I let the CPU generate that schedule outside the USF game, I figure the school needs all the money it can get to continue to cover its expenses and stadium project through year one

Tomorrows' game against Texas A&M will be UNF's first ever fielding of their inaugural football team. The Opsreys entered the season ranked ahead of both Idaho and Georgia State in the Preseason Poll at No. 124, the Aggies by far have the upper hand as they tipped the scale at No. 14 and now 13 after a 35-19 win over Texas State last week.

Note: I'm playing every UNF game, but I'll probably be watching the defense because I hate the pass D in this game... seems like the middle of the field is constantly wide open and QB's hit receivers every single play. It'll probably be the same in watch mode but at least it won't be my responsibility lol

                                UNF Receives First Ever Commitment

                                UNF Drops Debut, 30-0

                                Sept. 6, 2016

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — North Florida waited two long years to field its football team. After today, they will have to wait a bit longer for their first victory after losing a 30-0 decision to the No. 13 ranked Texas A&M Aggies in front of an announced crowd of over 80,000 at the Kyle Field on Saturday afternoon.

Apart from taking the tough loss, UNF’s coaching staff will likely name Antoine Bowers as starting halfback next week against Florida State after Myles Flanagan was carted off the field following a hit in the third quarter. Trainers announced that Flanagan, a true freshman, suffered a broken ribs injury that will keep him off the field for at least two months of duration.

"It was an emotional day, especially after losing Myles (Flanagan)," said UNF quarterback Caleb Poinsette. "But this was a historic game. I just wish we could have played better. We know we're going to be good in the future."

Texas A&M’s high paced, Air Raid offense gave in all of its dirty work in the first quarter where they posted 21 of their game’s 30 points in the period alone. Aggies quarterback Kyle Allen came up with two touchdowns; first on a 1-yard QB Draw play, then on an 8-yard pass to Edward Pope that came just 0:34 seconds after cornerback Priest Willis blocked and recovered a UNF punt inside the end zone for the game’s second score.

“It was an honor for us to play against this team (UNF) in their first ever game,” said Texas A&M Head Coach Kevin Sumlin. “It was a tune up for us, I told my guys we’d come out quick, give UNF a feel of FBS football before taking our foot off the gas pedal.”

Sumlin’s Aggies followed suit as the pace of the offense slowed down for the game’s remainder. Texas A&M would find the end zone on eight occasions, converting 62% of the time with its two first quarter touchdowns and three field goals that followed up. Kyle Allen posted 284 yards, going 35-of-47 while slot receiver Speedy Noil hauled in eight of the passes for 104 yards receiving.

For UNF, the offense was a big issue early on. The offenses’ pro-style offense saw a combination of the pass and run, both which brought little success as Myles Flanagan averaged just over two yards per carry before his injury. It wasn’t until the third quarter before the Ospreys broke their prolonged spell of under-100-yards of total offense.

“We were playing as if we were intimidated,” said Head Coach Brian Jenkins at the half. “Sure that’s understandable against a good team like (Texas) A&M, but by no means is it tolerable.”

In an attempt to counter the Aggies’ blitz-happy defense, Coach Jenkins altered the offense to quicker passes. The adaptation would be a brief success as Poinsette, who finished the game 19-of-31 for 164 yards, passed 6-of-6 for 60 yards on a 16-play drive that was faltered by a holding penalty and an eventual missed field goal from 34 yards out by Seth Hughey.

Despite his early game struggles, Poinsette had made a good impression of controlling the game from the turnover standpoint. The freshman made it all the way to the fourth quarter without turnover fault before he had his end zone heave picked by the Aggies’ corner Victor Davis.

Notably, the defense held Texas A&M scoreless in the third quarter. Freshman defensive end Ronnie Hurd, a former high school linebacker, got to the quarterback twice in the period, each time resulting in a sack and punted drive. Hurd finished with five tackles in the defensive category paced by outside linebacker Lukas Stephens who tacked on eight tackles.

“They (TAMU) made it to the end zone eight times,” said Brian Jenkins. “We could’ve lost this game 56-0, our men on defense did a good job of containing them in the second half.”

North Florida moves to 0-1 on their inaugural season, they will be back in Florida next Saturday to take on the No. 12 Florida State Seminoles who are currently 2-0 with wins coming against both Oklahoma State and Fresno State to open the year.

Note: All special team plays are simmed in order to create scenarios like the one that happened with the blocked punt in this game. Can't say I've ever seen something like that happen in the actual gameplay. and as said, that also goes for the defense (in watch play)... although I think the pass rush in watch play defense is significantly better than user D (probably because I'm not calling the plays lol), the first time I played and play-called this game for testing purposes we lost 63-0... probably a bit more realistic for a 59 OVR team vs a 93

And if you don't like the box score on the side of the text, let me know and I'll change it. I did it mostly because I didn't want my posts to be so long in height, it's also a new look.
