Yeah it might be time to try some different sliders or something.. It's so random sometimes on when the CPU does good.. They ran the ball pretty solid in the 1st half then trailing by 11 they just stopped trying to run the ball...

      GAME RECAP

It didn't take long for Coach Clayton Dees to become a Gamecock Legend, as they young HC showed off his high power offense in his very first game setting a new Jacksonville State record for points in a game as the Gamecocks blowout the Roadrunners (69-20) in Week 1.

JSU looked every bit of FIU/OSU, as Jax State rushed the ball 39 times for 311 yds and was a perfect 8/8 on 3rd down conversions as Dees offense proved unstoppable..

Coach Dees never took the foot off the gas pedal either as JSU scores 27 points in the 4th Quarter including a pair of touchdowns by RS Freshman Vai Fotu who played most of the 2nd half completing 12/17 (70%) for 137 yds and 3 scores on the day. Starter Quincy Genus was just as effective in the 1st half completing 12/16 (75%) for 234 yds and 2 scores.

The hero of the day though was SR RB Landon Wahl who rushed 19 times for a career high 215 yds scoring 2 times.. Backup RB Eric Miranda show cased his ability to score inside the 5 yd line as he carries the ball 13 times for 63 yds and 3 TD's.

Both QB's did a great job of showcasing the entire WR room. SO WR Rashaud Hendricks led the team with 8 rec for 123 yds and 4 TD's

SR Kevin Boger (6 rec 76 yds), SO S. De Beer (4 rec 75 yds), J. Yates (4 rec 53 yds 1 TD) all turned in great games.

      UP NEXT

JSU moves up into the Top-25 at #24 with the win.. Jax State will travel to Auburn in Week 3.. The Tigers opened up their season with a (49-3) win over Alabama A&M. (FCS)

          GAME RECAP

1 Week after scoring a career high and setting a school record with 69 points in their win over UTSA, Jax State came away with a even bigger victory in Week 3 as the Gamecock's upset the Auubr Tigers with a last second score in the 4th Quarter.

Jax State led at the half (21-20) after Auburn takes the ball down and kicks a short FG but it was Jax State who got the last laugh as JSU scoers the go ahead touchdown with 9 seconds to play.
The 2nd half was back and forth, as both teams matched scores for scores.. Jax State scored with 1:37 to play and elected to kick the PAT to tie the game (42-42) giving Auburn a chance to still win it in regulation but 3rd string QB Jimmie Gunter (JR rated 78 ovr) would throw 3 incomplete pass's forcing the Tigers to punt with 1:07 to play.. Still armed with 2 timeouts, Coach Dees sent out the offense in a 5 WR set as Genus delivers a 25 yd pass to SO Steve De Beer followed by a 16 yd gain to SR Kevin Boger.. Converted RB Matt Semple then came up with a big play catching a 21 yd pass over the middle to put the Gamecock's in FG range but with 22 seconds on the clock, Coach Dees elected to run 1 more play and again Genus delivers as he hits converted QB SO Dalvin Smith on a 18 yd scoring strike as JSU takes the lead.

It was another big day form the run game as Wahl (21 carries 138 yds 1 TD) and Eric Miranda (8 carries 40 yds 3 TD) carry the load but at the end of the day it was QB Quincy Genus who was the hero as Genus throws for over 400 yds including the game winner TD to SO WR Dalvin Smith.

It was a big day for converted WR Jared Yates too.. Yates finished with a team high 11 rec for 134 yds including a Touchdown, well SO Steve De Beer grabs 8 rec for 122 yds.

For Auburn the outcome of the game could be tied to the fact they were on the 3rd QB.

Starter SO Jarrick Gatineau (82 ovr) was 14/19 (73%) for 173 yds with 2 TD and led the team with 8 rushes for 78 yds before exiting with a injury.. 2nd string SR Kenya Byrne (79 ovr0 came in and complete 4/6 for 48 yds with a TD before also leaving the game early in the 3rd leaving 3rd string Gunter to finish it out. Well Gunter did throw for 101 yds and 2 scores, he was just 8/15 on the day including 6 incomplete pass's in the final minutes.

            GAME RECAP

It was a tough game for the Ohio State Offense as the Buckeyes took on Oklahoma led by their former OC Nate Phenix. Phenix loaded the box early holding Ohio State to just 62 yds in the 1st half well believing his secondary could make plays 1 on 1 and they did as the Sooners forced (3) 1st half turnovers on Nick De La Rosa (1 Fumble and 2 INT's) to make it (24-21) at the half.

Well SR QB Chad Slay (86 Ovr) played a great 1st half (9/11) with 2 TD's his 2nd half wasn't so great as he goes just 8/18 with 2 INT's that helped the Buckeyes seal the victory..

With De La Rosa struggling, Coach Miller inserted SR QB Abdul Diabate in the 2nd half but Diabate would struggle as well throwing 2 INT's leading Buckeye fans to get their first glimpse at former 5* QB Fredrick Clemons.. Clemons debut wasn't great either though as he throws 2 incomplete pass's on his only 2 attempts.

Despite the Sooners playing the run well in the 1st half, the Buckeyes stuck with it in the 2nd half with their QB's struggling and Cameron McCracken finally broke free for a couple nice 10 yd runs before finally breaking free for a 16 yd TD run in the 3rd for the final score of the day.

The Buckeyes finished the day with 171 yds rushing but didn't record a single run over 20 yds on the day as RS SO Viliami Te'o was held to just 6 yds on 4 carries (1.5 avg) after posting a 16+ yd per carry last week against the Ducks.

            UP NEXT

Ohio State moves to 3-0 on the season and keeps it's #1 ranking as they will take on #2 (2-0) Penn State in Week 4 in Happy Valley.. The Lions opened up their season with a (34-29) win over Alabama to vault them to #2. Then beat Western Kentucky (31-0) in Week 2 before having a Week 3 "Bye" as they will come in fresh.

Last year Duke QB Percy Uzomah was in the Top-5 Heisman talks most of the season before his season was cut short with a injury.. Uzomah is back again throwing for 744 yds with 7 TD and 0 INT so far this season well also rushing for 87 yds and 4 TD's in the Blue Devils first 2 wins.

Both will be pushed by SR QB Karlos Friend (90 ovr) who despite a 2-1 record has thrown for 1038 yds with 11 TD and 2 INT so far this season.

Teammate SR RB Oscar Beach-91 Ovr (43 carries 239 yds 5 TD) however could be trouble though as he could pull votes away as both players are having great seasons.

Got a feeling Jax State is going to be winning a lot of shootouts outside of the division.

QBs really struggled without the punishing rushing attack, will be interesting if the CPU starts loading the box and forcing De La Rosa beat them. Or Diabate.....or anyone lol

                  BUCKEYES D DROPPING LIKE FLY'S!!

Coach Miller will have his hands full in the coming weeks as he looks to rebuild a Defense that gave up 60 points in the past 2 weeks after holding LSU to just 17 points in their Week 1 opener..

OSU willl be without 6 players including their Top-3 DT's (SO C. Talbot-90 ovr, SR G. Carmichal-86 ovr, A. LaPorta-85 ovr) Starting MLB Eric Clemens (89 ovr) backup DE Shakir Hartage (85 ovr)as well as backup FS Trevon Burfict (76 ovr).

                  C. Talbot-17 weeks Fracture Hip
                  G. Carmichael-10 weeks Partial ACL Tear
                  A. La Porta-6 weeks Quad Tear
                  S. Hartage-24 weeks Broken Tibia
                  E. Clemens-9 weeks Hamstring Tear
                  T. Burfict-1 week Upper Arm Fracture

Miller also has yet to name his starting QB for the Week 4 matchup with Penn State.. Starter Nick De La Rosa has 860 yds this season and 9 TD's in the first 3 games but also has 5 INT's and a lost Fumble. Backup QB Abdul Diabate hs completed just 6/13 pass's and thrown 3 INT's well 3rd string Fredrick Clemens was 0/2 on his 2 only pass attempts against Oklahoma.

Jax State's offense is feeling good.. Wahl and Miranda make up a great RB duo. It's sad they are both Seniors. Miranda has been a beast inside the goal line with 6 TD's already.. I also love the fact I don't have a true #1 WR that I feel like I have to try and force the ball too. Right now De Beer (12 catches) Yates (15 catches), Hendricks (9 catches) and Boger (9 catches) all have the ability to produce good games. and Mike Semple has come up with some big catches down the middle (3 rec 51 yds 17.0 avg) as well as D. Smith showing he might deserve some more looks.

I honeslty don't know what's up with De La Rosa.. He reminds me alot of "Hawk" from FIU.. He is just so inconsistent. He had a great game against LSU but choked at home., with 4 turnovers.. But for some reason Diabate who played great last year hasn't figured it out either.. It might be time to just role with Clemens and try and run the crap out of the ball..

I did do some slider tweeks and tried to improve the CPU's Offense as well as lowered my Run Block.. I want feel more pressure to win but at the same time I don't want to still win games when turning the ball over 6-7 times in a game. So I need to figure out away for the CPU to score more points.

                      GAME RECAP

Coach Dees and Jacksoville State have made it 3 straight wins, picking up another huge win defeating Top-25 ranked Tulane as the Gamecock's improve to 3-0 on the season under Coach Dees.

JSU ran wild on the Green Wave Defense rushing 43 times for a school record 420 yds with 4 TD.

Landon Wahl got things going early with a 74 yd TD run just 2 plays in to the game, and Walh continued to run wild as he goes for 265 yds on 22 carries. Fellow RB Eric Miranda also had a nice game going over 100+ yds on the day with 2 TD's and QB V. Fotu shoed his ability to run finishing with 33 yds on 4 carries.

The Game was pretty exciting in the 4th Quarter as both teams score on Pick 6's..

Tulane got things going as Stephen Zimmons scores on a 99 yd "Pick 6", but Jax State answers back with a "Pick 6" of their own in the final seconds.

#1 VS #2 IN A EPIC GAME DAY BATTLE!!

                        GAME PREVEW

The Stage doesn't get any bigger as #1 (3-0) Ohio State visits #2 (2-0) Penn State in Happy Valley for this Week 4 Battle.. The College Game Day crew in town as the Buckeyes looked to extend their winning streak to 20 games, well the Nittany Lions looked to find revenge for their 42-0 blowout loss last year in Columbus.

The Stadium was standing room only with the Penn State crowd dressed for the occasion in their white-out shirts bringing their hostile noise (ranked #6).

                        1ST HALF RECAP

Ohio State opened the game with the ball but the Penn State Defense stepped up on the opening drive forcing a punt and giving the PSU a chance to strike first and they did as QB Joey Priest finds Tyler Anders on a 5 yd strike to make it (7-0) early in the 1st.

Both Defenses continued to force early punts before Ohio State finally finds some offensive footing as Fredrick Tam ties the game (7-7) with 3:41 to play with a 1 yd run.

Ohio State opened up the 2nd Quarter with another huge defensive stop forcing yet a 4th punt in the early goings. With the Penn State Defense loading the box and continuing to keep Cameron McCracken and the run game in check, Coach Miller went with a new formation splitting McCracken out wide as a WR and putting RS SO Vilami Te'o in the backfield, and De La Rosa delivered hitting McCracken on a pair of throws (24 yds) and a 6 yd score as Ohio State takes the lead (14-7) with 6:12 to play in the game.

Penn State would look to drive the ball down field and tie the game but the Ohio State Defense gets a huge play from SR SS Paul Schofield who picks off Priest to set up a 30 yd FG to make it (17-7).

Priest would bounce back from his earlier INT completing 5/5 pass's on the following drive including a 9 yd score to Anders yet again to cut the lead to (17-14) with 3:53 to play.

Then it was the Ohio State Defense coming up with a huge play.. Ohio State lined up in a 5 WR set looked to make a big play as De La Rosa goes deep for Orlando Riggs, but SR SS Zach Epperson comes up with the big play picking off the pass.

Priest still in the zone leads the Penn State down field and with 9 seconds to play hits Drew Cook on a 15 yd score as the Nittany Lions take the lead (21-17).

With 7 seconds to play Ohio State took over on the 22 yd line. PSU had loaded the box all half holding Cameron McCracken to just 10 carries for 14 yds his lowest total in his career for a half of football but it didn't stop Coach Miller from looking for a big play out of his star to end the half and with the Nittany Lions Defense in the Dime expecting a big pass play, McCracken delivers as he take the snap and goes 78 yds for the score as Ohio State heads into the half dealing a huge blow to the PSU crowd leading (24-21).

Sideline Reporter Molly McGrath caught up with Coach Miller as the teams headed to the locker room... Coach that was a huge call for McCracken to take the last carry of the half after averaging just 1.4 yds per carry for his first 10.. Where you just trying to run out the half or did you expect a big play?

Miller "Well Molly with Cam, I never doubt anything he can do.. We have a great O-line and Louis DuBois is one of the best FB in the nation and does a great job of sealing off the outside.... Everyone did their part and Cam just took it from there."

Molly "Coach Nick De La Rosa ended the half with a INT but before that turnover he has played pretty great 14/20 194 yds 1 TD.. How short is his leash witht the struggles Abdul Diabate has had this season"

Miller "I trust all 3 of our QB's to get it done for us on the field and PSU is pushing for us to win the game through the air but I think that run showed we just have to be patient with the run game and the big ones will come"

Molly "Coach Penn State rushed the ball only 5 times in the 1st half, well Joey Priest was 15/23 with 3 TD and 1 INT in the first half.. Any plans to change the Defense and force them to maybe run the ball in the 2nd half or will we continue to see alot of Dime Defense"

Miller "To be honest Molly I am shocked they didn't try and run the ball. They got to very talented RB's (SR S. Hix 90 ovr and SR C. Wells 90 ovr).. I personally don't see why they don't.. Hix had 2 rushes for 8 yds (4.0 avg) and Wells only got 1 carry and took it 22 yds.. I would be running the crap out of those guys"

Molly "Well Coach.. Thanks for taking time to talk and good luck with the 2nd half"

                        2ND HALF

Penn State opened up the 2nd half with the ball but the Nittany Lions continued to struggle picking up 1st downs as they are forced to punt yet again and Ohio State does what OSU does going to the ground game to start chewing away valuable time off the clock as they run the ball 12 times on a 14 play drive ending with a Fredrick Tam 1 yd run leaving just 5:46 to play in the 3rd. (it was a almost 6 minute drive). After another forced punt, OSU went back at it taking the rest of the 3rd Quarter before Nick De La Rosa caps off a 14 play drive with a 13 yd TD pass to Nick Tull to give Ohio State a commanding (38-21) lead going into the 4th.

Penn State was forced to settle for a FG to open up the 4th Quarter as Sammy Metz connects from 44 yds to make it (38-24).. Well the run game still struggling to make big plays, Coach Miller never gave up as he continued to pound the rock taking 3 and 4 yds per carry as Ohio State again eats away at the clock.. Facing a 3rd and 10 from the 10 yd line, QB Nick De La Rosa did something he doesn't do very often as he tucks the ball and runs up the middle for his a rushing TD as Ohio State extend the lead to (45-24) with 6:42 to play in the game.

After forcing a turnover on downs, Ohio State got the ball back but instead of running out the clock, Nick De La Rosa went to the air and found Orlando Riggs down the sideline for a 51 yd bomb as Ohio State puts the dagger in the Lions hearts.. PSU would take on a late touchdown from Priest to Anders (19 yds) with 4 seconds left..FINAL SCORE OHIO STATE-52 PENN STATE-31

Ohio State improves to 4-0 with the win but things won get any easier next week as the Buckeyes take on #12 (2-1) Notre Dame.. The Irish fell (35-21) in Week 4 well ranked #3, so had they won it would've been another matchup of #1 vs #2..

                            GAME RECAP

Coach Dees has improved to 4-0 in his 1st year at the helm of Jacksonville State and with back to back wins over Tulane and Louisiana, he has the Gamecock's sitting atop the Sun Belt Conference with a 2-0 start.

JSU jumped out to (21-7) lead in the 1st half and with zero time on the clock added a short 19 yd FG to make it (24-7) as both teams headed to the locker room.

With both starter Landon Wahl and backup Eric Miranda battling some injury issues, Coach Dees took no chances inserting his backup RB's for the entire 2nd half including True Freshman Gregory Dobbins.

Dobbins would deliver on his 1st carry of the day taking it 21 yds for a 3rd Quarter score to extend the lead to (31-7) and late Dobbins would add another score finishing the day with 6 carries for 27 yds.

                            Coach Dees
"With every Freshman capable of playing 4 games and retaining their Redshirt status, I thought today was a great chance to give Dobbins some carries and allow Landon and Eric a chance to rest up. We still have along season and with no "Bye" weeks to break it up I didn't want to take any chances"

Despite playing just the 1st half, Landon Wahl still has 76 carries for 701 yds (9.6 avg) and 5 TD's through the first 4 games, well Miranda had 40 carries for 236 yds (5.9 avg) and a team high 9 TD's.

With both Juniors Ricky Vaughn an Spencer Coker getting some carries in the 2nd half, it appears Vaughn has solidified the 3rd string role as he now has 11 carries for 70 yds (7.0 avg).

                            Dees
"Ricky runs hard and he showed today that he wants to fight for the job next year to be the #1 guy. I though Dobbins did a geat job coming in and giving us another big back like Miranda near the goal line but he also had one of the best runs of the day with that 21 yd score. I think he also wants to be the #1 next year, so it's a battle that will I am sure continue all the way till the spring game"

Well the running game played well against the Cajun's the Passing game needs some work.. Starter Quincy Genus had 2 INT's and now has 5 on the season to go with his 6 TD's and backup Vai Fotu didnt fair any better throwing his 2nd INT of the season well also turning the ball over with a fumble.

Both QB's also have completed less then 60% of their pass's this year (Genus-59% and Fotu-54%).

                            Dees
"Quincy's stats would've looked a little better had Mike Semple gotten 1 more yard on that 48 yd catch (tackled at the 1 yd line) and actually scored, but yeah we need to do a better job at protecting the ball and not throwing into double coverage"
                            UP NEXT

Jacksonville State will return home to host the Arkansas State Red Wolves in Week 6.

                              GAME RECAP

Notre Dame got it's revenge.. The Irish lost to the Buckeyes last year during the regular season and again in the Big Ten Championship, but made sure that Ohio State didn't make it 3 in a row as they snap the Buckeyes 20 game win streak

Down (14-13) with 27 seconds to play facing a 4th and 2 from the goal line, Coach Miller elected to go for it instead of kicking the FG as Ohio State goes into the locker room trailing for the first time all season. Could that decision be the difference maker?

Notre Dame came out of the 2nd half with the ball and added another score but Ohio State tied the game up (21-21) as backup QB Abdul Diabate finds D. Lowe on a 62 yd bomb pass after relieving Starter Nick De La Rosa after his 2nd INT that resulted in a 74 yd "Pick 6" return for a touchdown.

The Irish leaned heavily on SR QB Cam Trahan (82 Ovr) as Trahan continued to deliver finding JR WR Brian Carver (82 Ovr) for his 2nd TD of the day as Notre Dame retakes the lead.

Then it as Diabate throwing his own "Pick 6" INT as Notre Dame extends their lead to 2 scores (35-21) with 8:57 to play in the game.

Diabate bounces back from his INT to find Orlando Riggs for a 38 yd score to cut the led to (35-28) still with over 7 minutes to play in the game, but Trahan and Caver hookup for the "Hat Trick" as the duo scores for the 3rd time to extend it back to (42-28) with 4:02 to play.

Ohio State wasted little time finding the endzone yet again as Diabate goes deep this time finding RS FR Cam Spain on a 75 yd bomb to make it a 1 score game (42-34). Coach Miller trying to catch the Irish off guard went for the 2pt play looking to cut the lead 6 and potentially give his team a chance to win it in regulation.

But Notre Dame takes over with 3:50 to play and is able to run out the clock as Ohio State fails to stop the Irish on several short 3rd down runs.

With the loss Ohio State drops to #10 in the Top-25 rankings and joins Notre Dame, Oregon, USC and Penn State all with 1 loss in the Big Ten well Washington (3-0) Pitt and Purdue (2-0) are sitting on top of the Big Ten Standings.

Ohio State will look to rebound their loss with a trip to Minnesota to take on the (1-3) Gophers. Minnesota has lost 3 straight (USC, Pitt, Nebraska) but all 3 loss's have been by a combined 13 points)

                                GAME RECAP

Jacksonville State defeated the Arkansas State Red Wolves, behind another solid rushing attack moving to 5-0 Overall and 3-0 in Sun Belt play in Week 6 but it didn't come without a cost.

SR RB Landon Wahl has been one of the biggest stories in college football this season as Coach Dees has unleashed his potential showcasing the 3rd year starter as his offensive focal point.

In 2034 Wahl finished the year with 182 carries for 895 yds (4.9 avg) well scoring 10 TD's. He followed it up with 184 carries for 784 yds (4.3 avg) and 5 TD's in 2035.

So far his season Wahl has 92 carries but has surpassed his 2035 season total rushing for 785 yds (8.5 avg) well scoring 5 TD's including 84 yds on 16 carries in the 1st half, but after missing the 2nd half of the Gamecock's Week 5 win over Louisiana, this time Wahl wasn't just done for the day..

Wahl left the field holding his wrist which was confirmed to be broken a injury that will sideline him 7 weeks (the rest of the regular season)..

With Wahl out of action, fellow Senior RB Eric Miranda posted his 2nd 100 yd game of the season and scored a season/career high 4 TD's to give him 13 TD's on the season..

3rd string RB Junior Ricky Vaughn was elevated to the #2 role for the 2nd half but Vaugh struggle coughing up the football in the 3rd Quarter finishing the day with 5 carries for just 14 yds (2.8 avg). RECRUITING UPDATE

Coach Dees added 2 more players to this year's class this week..

3* ATH/QB Dillion Holliday (#496 Overall/#9 SC/#46 QB) is from North Charleston NC.. Holliday listed at 6'2 205lbs has a solid arm (90 THP) but many think his 92 Speed and 91 ACC could best be utilized in the backfield as a RB with both Wahl and Miranda set to graduate.

3* ATH/WR Kevin Cleveland (#603 Overall/#21 MI/#83 WR) is from Southfield Michigan. Listed at 6'2 212 lbs, Cleveland caught Dees attention not on the football field but on the track (93 speed).. Cleveland however is quite raw (57 awareness) and will likely need a redshirt season before contributing and could likely use a year on Special teams before being considered for a Top-5 WR spot on the roster.

With 6 players the class now rank's #26 Overall and is #2 in the SunBelt (Troy is currently ranked #8 with 7-3* and 6-2* signed)

*We are getting reports that Coach Dees has been busy working the phones and reaching out to a trio of 4* Recruits this season and is making headway with all 3 including a pair of QB's (Jordan Awesome and Dillion Hawkins) and MLB Alex Draft.

Jordan Awesome is listed at 6'5 212lbs and is from Greenville TN.. He is rated #209 Overall and the #25 QB in this year's class well being named Tennessee's Gatorade Player of the Year (#1 recruit).. The Vols have offered but Coach Dee's has made Awesome his #1 target all season and so far Awesome has JSU #1 on his list as well. He will visit in Week 13.

Dillion Hawkins isn't as big as Awesome (6'3 213lbs) but he is the local kid playing in Mobile Alabama making him priority #2 as Dees looks to secure the best of the best from Alabama, and like Awesome, Hawkins is Alabama's Gatorade Player of the Year (#1 ranked) and is actually ranked higher nationally (#58 Overall/#10 QB). Hawkins already visited in Week 6 and well he has JSU currnently #1, he will visit LSU next week who is closing the game and after a visit to Baton Rouge many think the Tigers will most likely jump in his current rankings.. South Alabama is still in the hunt at #3 and is offering.

Well landing Awesome or Hawkins would give Dees a Field General on Offense landing Alex Draft would give him one on Defense. Draft listed as the #47 Overall Recruit in this year's class and the #2 MLB is 6'2 223lbs from Horn Lake Mississippi and is the #4 Recruit in the state.

Well Draft currently has Jax State listed as his #1 school after a Week 6 visit and has officially locked his list at 3 schools (Sorry Memphis and Ball State who are #4 and #5).. Draft still has campus visits scheduled with Southern Miss (#2 Week 12) and Ole Miss (#3 Week 14).
