    OHIO STATE RECRUITING RECAP

MILLER ADDS 7 FROM PORTAL LANDS #1 CLASS

Coach Matt Miller added to his class of 19 High School Recruits with the addition of 7 players from the NCAA Portal bringing the 2036 Class to a Total of 26 players (6-5* and 20-4*) earning the #1 Class in the Country and in th Big Ten in the process.

The 7 Portal Additions included 4 of the Top-20 players in the portal including a pair of Strong Safeties to replace graduating starters G. Robinson and P. Schofield.

4* Ralf Garrison (Ranked/#5 from Marshall) and 4* Lenny Tonges (Ranked #20 from Cincinnati) will each have 1 year left to play for the Buckeyes... Garrison is from Columbus Ohio originally.

4* LG Cornell Konz (Ranked #4 from Kentucky) and 4* FS Damarious Hurt (Ranked #13 from Cincinnati) are also former Ohio High School Recruits. Konz played in Cincinnati well Hurts is from Cleveland.

The other 3 signings all have interesting implications to the roster as well.. Ohio State lost starting LT Dennis Howden early to the NFL Draft but Miller managed to snag away RS SO RJ Meeks away from Coach Dees and the Florida Gators. Meeks was a 4* Ranked #29 in the Portal from The Villages Florida.

4* CB RS SO Torri John (Ranked #25 from Ole Miss) joins a very young CB room that saw 3 True Freshman take snaps last season.

With the departure of McCracken/Tam/Te'o, the RB room took a big hit as FB Louis Dubois is last year's leading returning rusher with 23 carries for 121 yds and 3 TD.

RS SR Ja'Quann Britton is expected to take over as RB1.. The former 4* from Akron has 16 career carries for 133 yds and 2 TD's..

Despite having several young and talented options like 5* RS FR DeSean Pryor and former 4* RS SO's Andy Bortles and Robert Rourke as well as 4* RS FR George Kircus and incoming 5* Recruit Quinton Nailor (#15 Overall/#1 OH/#4 RB) Coach Miller added another talent to the mix.

4* Nick Alli received just 8 carries last season for Top rival Michigan.. A RS SO Allie was the #39 ranked Recruit in the Portal and will head to Columbus giving Miller another option in the backfield.

    Coach Miller
"It's a pretty steep task to replace a trio like McCracken/Tam/Te'o, but we believe we have the talent in the RB room to do it.. We got a great mix of power and speed.. Ja'Quan has put in the work and I am excited for him to finally get his shot but to be completely honest. I think DeSean Pryor could be the best mix of power and speed I have seen since coaching Tavon "The Wolverine" Logan... I am also a huge fan of 5* Quinton Nailor but I think fan's and myself will need to wait a year before we see exactly what he can do"
MCCARGO MOVES FROM TE TO FB

Not much will change with the roster positions going into the Spring Game other then 4* TE Phil McCargo will move from TE to FB... Listed at 6'2 238lbs, McCargo was the smallest of the 3 TE's in this year's class as both Niles Thomas and Devin Bilukidi are both listed at 6'5.

      FLORIDA GATORS RECAP

Coach Clayton Dees was a busy man in the Off-season adding 11 more players to the 2036 class bringing the total to 29 players (14-4*, 15-3*).. Despite all the late additions, Florida didn't move up in the final rankings finishing the year as the #12 Overall Ranked Class and the #5 Ranked Class inside the SEC.

Of the 11 players added to the class, only 3 players come via the Portal with 4* FS Tyrone Cheridor (#32 Ranked) being the Top Recruit added.. Cheridor comes via Florida State.. A RS FR Transfer, Cheridor is 6'3 193lbs from Zephyrhills Florida.

Both of the other transfer portal additions are also former Florida High School Recruits.

3* CB Donnell Merling (#88 Ranked-Syracuse) is originally from Lakeland FL well 3* DE David Lacy (#75 Ranked-Miss State) is originally from Bradenton FL.

With now traditional FB on the Gators roster and Coach Dees expected to be adding the I-Formation run plays that have been so popular at both FIU, Ohio State and even last year at Jacksonville State, Coach Dees was busy giving himself options as he signs 3 FB's in this year's class.

3* PJ Janovich (#594 Overall/#16 LA/#3 FB) from New Orleans Louisiana
3* TY Rabe (#669 Overall/#86 FL/#7 FB) from Dunnellon Florida
3* Dakota Benedict (#696 Overall/#18 LA/#9 FB) also from New Orleans.

HENERY JOINS INCOMING FRESHMAN IN FB DUTIES

Senior Pat Henrey will move from TE to FB and is expected to push for the starting role this season allow the 3 incoming Freshman to potentially Redshirt as Dees looks to filter out his future starter.. Henery (72 Overall) is listed at 6'1 250lbs and was 3rd on the depth chart at TE.

      9 PLAYERS JOIN SPRING PORTAL

RS JR QB Greg Leber (80 Ovr) was the only one noteworthy who will look for a new home and a shot at being a starting QB after taking just 3 snaps last year as the team's #2.

RS SO Mike Apple (78), RS FR Trent Cartwright (74), RS SO Baraka Ogundeji (73) and RS FR Cedrick Harvey (72) are expected to battle it out this Spring for the starting job and their position on the depth chart.. Apple and Cartwright are the favorites with Ogundeji and Harvey potentially making the move to WR next season.

        NATIONAL RECRUITING RECAP

Well Ohio State finished #1 and Florida finished #12.. Here is a look at the rest of the Top-25 schools as well as some Note Worthy classes.

        5*/4*/3*/2*)

        #2 FIU- 27 players (4/14/9)
        #3 Texas A&M-33 players (2/27/4)
        #4 Miami-35 players (2/27/6)
        #5 Alabama-24 players (2/17/5)
        #6 Notre Dame- 29 players (4/13/12)
        #7 Penn State- 27 players (2/15/10)
        #8 UCLA- 35 players (0/21/14)

        #15 Duke- 21 players (0/11/10)
        #16 Texas- 28 players (0/16/12)
        #17 Georgia Tech- 25 players (0/10/15)
        #18 TCU-23 players (1/8/14)
        #19 Oklahoma 23 players (1/8/14)

        #22 Maryland 33 players (0/8/14/11)
        #23 Wisconsin-31 players (0/7/10/14)
        #24 San Jose State- 27 players (2/5/15/5)
        #25 Southern Miss-35 players (1/12/6/16)

        Other noteworthy
        Auburn #26, LSU #27, Washington #28, Kentucky #29, Purdue #30, Arkansas #31, K-State #32, Jacksonville State #34 with 34 players (3-4*, 31-3*) , Boise State #43 with 18 players (5-4*, 11-3*, 2-2*) and Florida State #45 with 19 players (3-4*, 13-3* and 3-2*)

Coach Valdez continues to do a solid job at FIU and with the success of winning the SEC Championship in the schools first year in the conference I would expect them to continue to stay among one of the Top-10 teams in the country..

Jacksonville State added on to a already impressive recruiting class signed by Coach Dees.. It will be interesting to see how this class impacts the school for the next 4 years.

It's super cool to see San Jose State landing 5* Recruits after several strong finishes in the Mountain West, The Spartans could be on the verge of moving to the Pac-14, as they are now a 3 1/2 star Overall which is actually tied with Boise State and higher then Stanford, San Diego State and Fresno State all who currently reside in the Pac-14.

          2037 TOP-25 PRESEASON RANKINGS

          (Overall/Offense/Defense)

          #1 FIU (90/90/91) (43 votes)
          #2 Ohio State (94/95/94) (41 votes)
          #3 Notre Dame (90/90/91)
          #4 Penn State (89/89/89)
          #5 Texas (89/89/90)
          #6 Washington (86/86/87)
          #7 Boise State (86/86/86)
          #8 Texas A&M (89/89/90)
          #9 Duke (84/85/84)
          #10 Kentucky (86/86/86)
          #11 Maryland (84/85/84)
          #12 Alabama (91/92/91)
          #13 Fresno State (81/81/82)
          #14 Georgia Tech (86/86/86)
          #15 Rice (80/81/81)
          #16 UCLA (84/84/85)
          #17 K-State (89/89/90)
          #18 Oklahoma (89/90/89)
          #19 Arkansas (80/82/80)
          #20 Southern Miss (83/82/85)
          #21 Rutgers (84/84/84)
          #22 TCU (90/89/91)
          #23 Tennessee (88//90/87)
          #24 Nebraska (89/89/90)
          #25 Louisville (82/82/82)

I think the biggest surprise is seeing Fresno State #13.. The Bulldogs had a pair of big wins last year beating both Boise State and UCLA but failed to make the Pac-14 Championship.

I also find it interesting that even with FIU, Miami and Georgia Tech leaving the ACC, the ACC still has 3 teams ranked in the Top-11 and 4 in the Top-25 which is the same # of teams the SEC has.

The Big 12 starting with 6 teams in the Top-25 beats out the Big Ten with 5, but the Big Ten with 4 of their teams in the Top-6 still makes it the toughest conference in college football..

Also noteworthy is that USC and Oregon are both 90 Overall's and Michigan and Wisconsin are both 89 Overalls and yet all 4 are not starting in the Top-25 despite being higher ranked then teams that are.

Same with the SEC.. Georgia is a 91, Miami is a 90, LSU/Ole Miss are 89's and Clemson and FSU are both 88 Overall yet are not in despite Arkansas and Tennessee being in.

*Florida starts out as a (87/85/90)

            2037 OHIO STATE MEDIA GUIDE

            THE SCHEDULE

Ohio State will look to defend their 2 straight National Championships with a Week 0 matchup with the Ohio Bobcats.. For the MAC Champs this is the type of matchup the school dreams of and after a disappointing Week 1 loss to #7 Seed Texas in Round 1 of the playoffs last year, Ohio is looking to prove it can play with the big boys as it hosts the Buckeyes at Peden Stadium

Ohio State will then kickoff Week 1 starting with Big Ten play as we get a chance to see a rematch of last year’s Big Ten Championship as the Buckeyes head to Seattle for a matchup with the Huskies.

Ohio State will host Oregon in Week 2 in their season home-opener.. Here is a look at the full schedule

            Week 0 @ Ohio (Last season 12-2)
            Week 1 @ Washington (Last Season 11-3)
Week 2 vs Oregon (Last Season 7-6)
            Week 3 @ Pitt (Last Season 3-9)
            Week 4 “Bye”
Week 5 vs Minnesota (Last Season 4-8)
Week 6 vs #4 Penn State (Last Season 11-3)
            Week 7 “Bye”
Week 8 vs LSU (Last Season 7-6)
            Week 9 @ #24 Nebraska (Last Season 6-7)
Week 10 vs Cincinnati (Last Season 2-10)
            Week 11 @ Wisconsin (Last Season 7-6)
Week 12 vs Michigan State Senior Day (Last Season 5-7)
            Week 13 @ Michigan (Last Season 6-7)

The Roster (Overall) (R)=Redshirting (RS) means already Redshirted

            QB
SR Nick De La Rosa (93)
            RS SO Freddie Clemons (86)
            RS SO Julius Breida (81)
            RS FR Cory Pears (80)
            ® FR CJ Sisk (79)

Outlook- De La Rosa and Clemons are both forme 5* Recruits.. De La Rosa returns for his 4th season as the Buckeyes Week 1 starter and is coming off his best season yet throwing for 4869 yds last season with a career high 56 TD’s and 18 INT..

Clemons saw limited action but is considered the front runner to take over next season and give Coach Miller 3 seasons to find his next long term starter. Clemons completed 8/18 pass’s last year for 108 yds well throwing 4 TD’s.

            RB
            RS SR Ja’Quan Britton (89)
            RS FR George Kircus (87)
            RS FR DeSean Pryor (84)
            RS FR Robert Rourke (84)
            RS SR Nick Alli (83)
            ® FR Quinton Nailor (81)
            ® FR Xavier Segal (81)

Outlook-Britton has waited his turn and is ready to prove he is NFL ready.. Redshirt Freshman DeSean Pryor is considered to be ready to step in and fill McCracken’s shoes as the Buckeyes next potential Heisman winner. RS FR George Kircus had a huge spring (jumped from a 81 to 87) and will look to handle 3rd down plays and could split out wide and play some WR similar to sharing the the field like McCracken and Te’o did last year. Michigan Transfer Nick Alli will push for some goal line carries and could fill Tam’s role but at this point looks like a insurance policy for Britton.

            FB
            RS JR Lee Dubois (86)
            ® FR Phil McCargo (77)

Outlook-DuBois is a former 5* who moved from RB to FB and has helped the run game flourish.. With 55 career carries for 280 yds (5.2 avg) and 5 TD’s he looks ready to show he can play bigger role then just blocking.

            WR
            RS JR Orlando Riggs (91)
            RS SO Cam Spain (90)
            RS SR Gabe Cobb (88)
            RS JR Khalid Ahlers (83)
            RS FR Joe Wilbur (82)
            RS FR Britton Pilgram (79)
            RS SO Nate Pettis (78)
            ® FR Emanuel Murphy (80)

Outlook-Lowe and Tull are gone, but Riggs showed he is more than capable of being the #1 as he set school records for yards and TD’s in a season.. This will most likely be his last season as he will follow Tandy and Lowe in declaring for the NFL Draft early. Depending on the season Cam Spain has he could join him if not he is the next man up. SR Gabe Cobb best season came in 2034 when he caught 52 balls for 728 yds and 7 TD’s. He is the only non-5* Recruit in the WR room..

            TE
            RS SO Baraka Cobbs (82)
            RS FR Jason Braham (82)
            RS SR Gabe Harper (81)
            ® FR Niles Thomas (76)
            ® FR Devin Bilukidi (74)

Outlook- The TE hasn’t produced huge #’s in Coach Millers Offense since his days at FIU, but last season Cobbs did manage to pull in 23 receptions for 335 yds and 3 TD.

            O-Line

            LT
            RS JR Taylor Ring (93)
            RS SR Vince Perkins (91)
            RS SR Javonte Tipton (89)
            RS JR RJ Meeks (85)
            ® FR Zach Darnold (80)

            LG
            RS SR Cornell Konz (91)
            RS SR Adrian Morton (90)
            RS SR Greg Castonzo (86)
            RS FR Danny Cummins (86)

            C
            RS SR Cam Bauman (94)
            RS JR George Edmunds (89)
            RS JR Laron Middlebrooks (84)
            ® FR Ben Knowles (78)

            RG
            RS SR Jamal Cruise (95)
            RS SO Devonte Cisco (82)
            ® FR Leo Vaughn (79)

            RT
            RS JR Jay Abbott (97)
            RS SR Jamal Hayden (89)
            RS SR DeAndre Gore (88)

Outlook-For the 4th straight year, the Ohio State Buckeyes have probably the best O-Line in the nation with all 5 starters rated higher than 90 Overall and their Top reserves 89 or better. However with Ring/Abbbot and Cruise all potential early entries this unit could lose 11 players next season, making rebuilding the line a top priority for Coach Miller.

            D-Line

            DE
            RS SO George Oruwariye (90)
            RS JR Alex Malveaux (88)

            RS JR Warren Colombo (88)
            RS JR Shakir Hartage (88)
            RS SO Nyles Simms (84)

            ® FR Alan Levine (79)
            ® FR Taylor Eddy (77)

            DT
            RS SR Cole Small (88)
            RS JR Malcom Shaw (85)
            RS FR Alex Generals (83)

Outlook- The Buckeyes graduated their top pass rushers, and former 5* recruit George Oruwariye will start the year on the IR after missing almost the entire last season. Hopefully someone can step up and help produce a pass rush.

            LB

            OLB
            RS SR Phil Rossi (88)
            RS SO Rodney Newcombe (88)
            RS FR Afa Cummings (86)
            RS FR Levi Popek (78)
            ® FR George Body (80)
            ® FR Monty Hicks (75)

            MLB
            RS SR Eric Clemens (94)
            (T) FR Layne Cole (78)

Outlook Newcombe and Cummings are former 5* who take over as starters.. Rossi is a former 3* who had a great Spring game but will backup all 3 spots in his final season.. Eric Clemens also a former 5* is a Defensive Captain and has 111 Tackles with 5 INT in the past 3 seasons.

            DB

            CB
            RS SO Onaje Onwuasor (84)
            SO Salsi Kelikipi (84)
            JR Torri John (84)
            RS FR Gregory Palardy (83)
            RS FR Joe Schaffer (83)
            RS FR Devonta Doubs (81)
            RS SO Eli Grimes (80)
            ® FR Cornell Spears (80)
            ® SO Mile Hargrave (79)
            ® FR Bryce Akbar (77)

Outlook- Torri John is the old man of this group after transferring from Ole Miss. This unit had 10 INT’s between them last season including 3 by Salesi Kelikipi who finished with 58 Tackles as well as a True Freshman.

            FS
            SR Damarious Hurt (86)
            RS SO Max Michaud (83)
            RS SO Trevon Burfict (80)
            ® FR Camern Buggs (75)

Outlook- Hurt was a 2 year starter at Cincinnati recording 100 tackles the past 2 seasons.. Michaud is a former 5* LB Recruit who moved to FS and started last season recording 62 tackles

            SS
            SR Ralph Garrison (88)
            SR Lenny Tonges (85)
            RS FR Sua Gupta (84)

Outlook- Garrison (Marshall) and Tonges (Cincinnati) are both 3 year starters for their former teams and both will start for the Buckeyes. Garrison has 8 career INT’s well Tonges has 166 career tackles. Gupta is the starter in waiting.

            Roster Breakdown (85 Players)
            (20) Seniors (15) Juniors (17) Sophomores (33) Freshman

With 8 Seniors on the O-Line and 3 very highly rated JR’s that will be a Key target this season… LB Depth is also priority #2 along with SS.

In an ideal draft class, I would hope to land 8 0-Lineman, 4 LB’s and 2 SS’s leaving me like 5-8 scholarships for depth at QB/RB/WR/D-Line if someone jumps out at me if not it will likely be the best players available. I also need to sign a PK to replace Dugans.

Outlook-This group is talented but raw as all 3 starters are new.. Striker and Trahan will start on the outside with Pepper in the middle.. Craig and Woodhead are super talented backups. Striker did have 38 tackles last year as a reserve and was one of the players who entered the Transfer Portal that Coach Dees convinced to stay.

              FS
              RS SO Tyrone Cheridor (84)
              RS SO Jamaal Claybrooks (82)
              RS FR Coco Prince (78)

Outlook- Bass leads the team in career INT’s with 4 but had zero last season as a Junior. Cheridor transferred from Florida State after recording just 5 tackles last season. Claybrooks will join Cheridor and Bass in the Nickle Defense and will push for starting snaps if Florida does run a 3-3-5.

              SPECIAL TEAMS

              ® FR Ezekiel Maduburike (65)

Outlook- A completely new unit as both starters graduated. The Previous Coach had already signed the 3 players currently Redshirting.. Eriving and Maduburke will have a chane to earn the starting job next year.

              ROSTER BREAKDOWN (85 players)
              (7) Seniors (14) Juniors (27) Sophomores (37) Freshman

Of the 85 players 68 are from Florida and 9 are from Alabama

With only 7 Seniors this year’s class will likely only feature 10-15 recruits.. There is still a couple players who will likely get a suggest transfer at the end of the season and a few that will make position changes. Overall I think the priority is to find another RB or 2 and to build Depth on the O-Line and D-Line..

BUCKEYES DOMINATE BOBCATS IN WEEK 0 OPENER!!!

                1ST HALF RECAP

For those wondering how the Buckeyes run game would look with the Law Firm of McCracken/Te'o and Tam gone, Redshirt Senior Ja'Quan Britton answered all the questions taking his first carry 33 yds.. Britton would end the 1st half with 7 carries for 127 yds including a 74 yd TD run in the 2nd Quarter with 2:39 to play in the half.

Ohio State would actually score 4 times on the ground with 5* RS FR DeSean Pryor getting his first career TD ending the half with 6 carries for 45 yds.. FB Lee DuBois added 2 carries for 10 yds including a 4 yd TD as he looks to take over for Tam in the goal line role and even QB Nick De La Rosa added a 6 yd TD run on a 3rd and goal opportunity.

De La Rosa and Riggs picked up where they left off last year when they connected on 22 TD's as a duo with a nice 26 yd TD pass and catch and De La Rosa found another big play WR in his arsenal as he hits RS FR Joel Wilbur on a 52 yd bomb for another score as the Buckeyes dominate the 1st half (42-6)

Not all was perfect for De La Rosa though as the Senior QB continues to struggle with INT's as he throws 2 but the Buckeyes Defense holds the Bobcats to a pair of FG's on both turnovers and and get's 2 INT's of their own as RS FR Gregory Palardy and SO Salesi Kelikipi both pick off JR QB David McCracken (76 and no relation to Cameron).. McCracken finished the 1st half 11/19 for 118 yds with the 2 INT's.

                2ND HALF

The Ohio State Run game continued to attack and dominate the 2nd half as DeSean Pryor scores 2 more touchdowns to give him a "Hat Trick" as Ohio State extends the lead to (56-9) in the 3rd Quarter.

Coach Miller would insert the 2nd String Offense and Defense for the 4th Quarter but it didn't stop the scoring as backup QB Fredrick "Freddie" Clemons throws 1 TD and runs for another as Ohio State shows their Offense is still super talented despite the loss of their Top-3 RB's and 2 of their Top-3 WR's from the past 2 seasons.

                FINAL SCORE OHIO STATE-70 OHIO-16

                KEY BUCKS

                QB N. De La Rosa-11/18 204 yds 2 TD 2 INT, 1 Rushing TD

FS M. Michaud CB G. Palardy CB S. Kelikipi-1 INT each.

                UP NEXT

Ohio State will hit the road and head Northwest as the Buckeyes travel to Seattle to take on the #6 ranked Washington Huskies in a rematch of last year's Big Ten Championship.

                INJURY REPORT

With Star DE George Oruwariye (88 Ovr) still recovering from a Torn Pectoral for the next 3 weeks, the Buckeye Defense took another couple hits. Key Reserve LB SR Phil Rossi (86 Ovr) will miss the next 7 weeks with a Dislocated Hip and Starting FS Damarious Hurt (Cincy transfer) will miss the next 4 weeks with a Torn Labrum.

                    GAME RECAP

Coach Dee's is now 2-0 in HC Debuts after winning his HC debut last year with Jacksonville, Florida was able to overcome 5 turnovers by creating 4 turnovers of their own as the Gator Defense held the Golden Knights scoreless through the first 3 Quarters of play.

Lead (17-0) at the half despite (2) 1st Half INT's by starting QB Mike Apple, Florida would turn to Redshirt Freshman Trent Cartwright early in the 3rd Quarter after Apple's 3rd INT of the game.. Cartwright wouldn't fare any better though as he completes just 2/4 pass's unless you count the 2 INT's he threw then all 4 balls put up were caught.

UCF would manage to finally put points on the scoreboard after INT #5 as they settle for a FG to make it (17-3). Florida would extend their lead as 3rd string RS SO Baraka Ogundeji throws his first career touchdown as he finds Jordan McPherron on a 8 yd score to extend the lead to (24-3).. UCF answers with their first TD of the game to make it (24-10) but Freshman QB Jose Chunn (74) would throw back to back INT's that led to a pair of rushing touchdowns by Adrian Burden as the Gators seal the victory.

Burden was named POG as he rushed the ball 25 times for 128 yds well scoring the 2 TD's.

                      BATTLE IN SEATTLE PART II

#2 Ohio State cruised in their Week 0 win over Ohio but going to Seattle to play the #6 ranked Huskies was a whole different story, as Husky Stadium ranks #13 in Toughest places to play in the country.

                      1ST HALF RECAP

Ohio State took the early (7-0) lead in the 1st Quarter as Desean Pryor scores his 4th TD of the season showing he could be the perfect combination of McCracken and Tam.

Washington would tie the game early in the 2nd Quarter as QB Fredrick Ballage hits Matt Minnich on a 15 yd score to make it 7-7) but Ohio State answers back in 1 play as De La Rosa finds Cam Spain on a 71 yd pass and catch to retake the lead (14-7)..

Ohio State would extend their lead to (28-7) as De La Rosa fires touchdowns to Britton Pilgram (39 yds) and Joe Wilbur (89 yds) but a pair of INT's late in the 2nd half allow the Huskies to charge back as Ballage caps 1 drive with a 1 yd TD run and then hits Andres Kalil on a 8 yd score as time expires to make it (28-21) at the half.

De La Rosa finished the half 8/14 for 275 yds with 3 TD and 2 INT

Ja'Quan Britton led the ground attack with 9 carries for 41 yds (4.5 avg).

                      2ND HALF

De La Rosa's INT struggles continued in the 3rd Quarter as the Senior QB throws not 1 but 2 more INT's to finish the day with 4 turnovers, but despite the turnovers, the Buckeye Defense holds strong forcing punts as the Huskies fail to convert them into points.

Still leading (28-21) going into the 4th, Ohio State would extend their lead to (31-21) early in the 4th as Lamar Dugans connects on a 46 yd FG..

Despite only recording 1 sack, the Buckeye Defense did a solid job of forcing Washington QB Freddy Ballage to use his check down receiver bringing up back to back turnover on downs and off each Ohio State manages to extend their lead.

First it was Ja'Quan Britton breaking his longest run of the day taking it 41 yds to the house to make it (38-21) and then with just over 5 minutes to play QB Nick De La Rosa keeps it himself as he runs in from 6 yds out on a 3rd and goal for the final score of the game.

Ballage finished the game 17/33 for 210 yds with 2 TD and 1 INT.
SO RB Iosefa Battle led the Huskies on the ground with 15 carries for 51 yds (3.4 avg)

                          GAME RECAP

Florida jumped out to a early (10-0) lead but a Mike Apple INT gives the Bulls solid field position as they score a touchdown to make it (10-7), however after that it was all Florida as the Gators score 30 unanswered points to close out the game to come away with the win and improve to 2-0 in the Coach Dees era.

Apple who struggled with 3 INT's last week against UCF struggled again throwing a INT in each half but still managed to complete 60% of his pass's well throwing for 359 yds and a pair of touchdowns to JR WR Oscar Spriggs.

He also showed off his ability to run as the carried the ball 6 times for 21 yds.

Starting RB Adrian Burden had another solid day with 17 carries for 95 yds and 2 TD well backup RB RS FR David Mateo is making a case for more touches as he adds 34 yds on 4 carries (8.5 avg) but those # are slightly misleading as 25 yds came on 1 carry

Florida will have a "Bye" Week in Week 3 before starting SEC play hosting LSU in Week 4.

                            BUCKS VS DUCKS

Oregon started the year out of the Top-25 rankings and lost in Week 1 but don't discount the talent that's on the sidelines.. Oregon continues year in and year out to recruit a Top-10 class every year giving them the ability to challenge for Big Ten titles and playoff berths.

                            1ST HALF RECAP

Ohio State dominated the 1st Quarter jumping out to a early 21-0 lead including the opening drive in which Ohio State used 6 run plays to cover 80 yds including a 20 yd TD run by DeSean Pryor.

A Oregon Fumble set up the Buckeyes 2nd touchdown as De La Rosa finds TE Baraka Cobbs on a 2 yd TD pass and then it was Ja'Quann Britton punching it in from 7 yds out for the 3rd score of the game.

Ohio State facing a 4th and 2 midway through the 4th, decides to go for it as De La Rosa delivers a short pass over the middle to Cam Spain and the RS Sophomore does the rest taking it 84 yds to extend the lead to (28-0) but like I said Oregon has talent on both sides of the ball.. First Oregon responds to the big play with a big play of their own as JR QB Gio Rudd (79) delivers a 43 yd bomb to SR Evan Rubin (85).. Then after picking off De La Rosa, the Ducks strike again as Rudd hits SO WR Jayden Ramsay (82) on a 49 yd bomb to make it (28-14) at the half.

De La Rosa ends the half 8/16 for 144 yds with 2 TD and 1 INT, well Oregon's Rudd was 10/17 for 211 yds with 2 TD and 1 INT as well.

The Buckeyes finished the half with 141 yds on the ground and the 2 TD's. J. Britton had 7 carries for 92 yds and 1 TD, well D. Pryor had 4 carries for 54 yds and 1 TD.

Oregon's SR RB Taulia Joy (89) had 8 carries for 37 yds

                            2ND HALF RECAP

Leading by 2 scores, Ohio State knew the best way to win the game was to keep the ball on the ground as Britton and Pryor combine for another 140+ yards in the half and another 3 scores as Britton finishes the day with a season/career high 219 yds and 2 scores and Pryor goes for the Hat Trick scoring 2 more times to finish the day with 3 TD's..

Pryor just 3 games into the season already had 7 TD's on the season, well Britton just 3 games in is just 2 yards away from 500 (46 carries 498 yds 10.8 avg) well scoring 4 TD's as well.

It's been a quite season so far for Orlando Riggs who finished last season with a record breaking 22 TD's.. But Riggs comes up big to day catching a 76 yd bomb in the 4th Quarter to help seal the Buckeyes victory.

                              GAME RECAP

Ohio State dominated the Pitt Panthers but not in typical Buckeye fashion.. Ohio State lost SR RB Ja'Quann Britton early in the 1st Quarter and played most of the game without backup DeSean Pryor as well.. With their Top-2 RB's on the sidelines, Coach Miller didn't risk losing a 3rd and challenged SR QB Nick De La Rosa to win the game with his arm.

De La Rosa delivered throwing 5 TD's without a INT but did cough up 1 Fumble. Orlando Riggs broke out with another big game catching 2 TD's well SR Gary Cobb also added 2 with both players going over 100 yds receiving on the day.

Pryor's injury turned out to just be for the game as the Medical staff expects him to be ready to go in Week 5 after the "Bye" but Britton will be out at least 3 weeks with a Upper Arm Fracture meaning he will miss home games vs Minnesota and Penn State before returning to the field in Week 8 with the Buckeyes face off against LSU.

Britton isn't the only Buckeye that will miss a extended amount of time.

RS FR Gregory Palardy (81 Ovr) will miss the next 2 weeks with a Torn Labrum and DE SO Nyles Simms (81) will miss the rest of the season and likely most of next (39 weeks) with a Complete ACL Tear.

                                GAME RECAP

Coach Clayton Dees improves to 3-0 on the season with a gutsy call facing 4th and 3 with under 2 minutes to play in the game.

Florida jumped out to a early 7-0 lead as RB Adrian Burden takes it 59 yds to the house.. Florida would go on to extend the lead to 14-0 at the end of the 1st Quarter and 24-14 at the half kicking it a 18 yd FG with just over a minute to play.

LSU would open the 2nd half settling for a FG to make it (24-17) and after forcing the Gators to punt would tie the game up (24-24) with 2:38 to play in the 3rd Quarter.

RS SO QB Mike Apple would have his best game of the season as he throws 4 TD's on the day with no turnovers including his 3rd touchdown hitting SR Matt Den Mark for his 2nd score of the day to give Florida the (31-24) lead going into the 4th Quarter.

Den Mark the teams leading returning receiver only got 2 balls on the day but took them both to the house for scores finishing with 109 yds

LSU would manage to tie the game (31-31) with 3:59 to play in the game but Florida facing a 4th and goal with 1:56 to play in the game sends out the offense vs settling for a short FG and giving LSU a chance to take the lead.. Apple would deliver hitting RS SO Josh Parker on a 4 yd pass for the go ahead TD.

LSU would turn the ball over on downs with 42 seconds to play in the game, but rather then just try and run the clock off, Dees ends up sending out FG Kevin Felicanio as he connects on a 29 yd FG with 8 seconds to play to seal the 10 point victory.
