Excited to see what DEES can do for the Gamecocks. Are we going to see an Alabama rivalry develop in the non-conference slate??
I agree.. Pounds had some amazing plays in the game but also some stupid one as well. The CPU kept having him throw the ball out of bounds despite wide open running lanes, and on another series when facing a 4th and 8, they took off and then had him slide 2 yds shy of the 1st Down.. I wasn't happy with their choices for some of his throws either.

Its crazy he was a 92 Overall during the season but dropped to a 88 which I think was a huge reason why he slipped in the draft.. Either way he should have a career in the NFL hopefully for awhile, but I get what you are saying now.. I would love for Dees to return to FIU someday when Valdez retires.. We will see what happens.. It will be interesting to see if they can maintain in the SEC or not.. I am curious to see what happens at QB.. Had I stayed I probably would've rolled with a younger QB with a lower Overall, but my guess is the CPU ends up starting what will be RS SR Lambo who has been a backup his entire career.. Being how the CPU typically doesn't run, not sure what will happen to the dominating run game.

I am for sure putting Alabama and Auburn on the schedule at some point.. I might rotate them.. Do a Home/Away series with each maybe giving me Alabama on the road in Year 1, then Auburn at home in Year 2, Alabama at home in Year 3 and then Auburn on the road in Year 4.. By then I am hoping to maybe just move to the SEC fulltime.

For now though I am excited for the Sun Belt.I havn't spent any time there, so Jax State should get pushed inside the Division by South Alabama and on the other side both Louisiana and Tulane are going to be tough come Conference Championship time..

      CHANGES FOR 2036!!

FIU, Georgia Tech and Miami are officially leaving the ACC for the SEC starting with the 2036 season, with South Carolina and Kentucky joining the ACC as replacements.. Missouri is also sent out from the SEC but settles into the American Conference along with Rutgers who is exiting the ACC after a 2-10 season. CUSA runner up Louisville is leaving the conference to join the ACC and instate rival Kentucky.

Here is a look at the new Conferences that were affected..

      AMERICAN

Rutgers joins the North along with Boston College, Buffalo, Syracuse, Temple, UConn and UMass.

Missouri joins the South along with Illinois, Indiana, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Northwestern and Vanderbilt.

      ACC

Louisville and Kentucky join the North Carolina schools (UNC, NC State, Duke, Wake Forest and ECU)

South Carolina will join the the Virginia Schools (West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Virginia) as well as UCF, USF and Maryland

**If UCF and USF continue to struggle they could be replaced by pretty much anyone in CUSA**

      THE SEC

FIU, Georgia Tech and Miami all join the Sunshine Division along with Florida, Florida State, Georgia and Clemson

Tennessee moves to the Deep South joining Ole Miss, Miss State, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn and LSU.

        SAYING GOODBYE

Well one could say Ohio State won the transfer portal this past off-season signing 8 players which in turn help Coach Miller land the #1 Recruiting Class. It also means that Ohio State must say goodbye to 8 players as OSU goes into the spring game with 93 players. Here is a list of the 8 players

RS JR QB DeMarco Killings (79 Ovr)-signed with Kentucky
RS FR RB Charlie Emery (85 Ovr)-Couldn't find on a roster
RS JR FB/TE Kalen Tabor (78 Ovr)-signed with Kentucky
RS JR WR Greg Lanier (76 Ovr)-couldn't find on a roster
RS JR WR Manny Trueblood (80 Ovr)-signed with Marshall
RS SR RT Vilami Bee (80 Ovr) signed with Georgia Southern
RS SR DE/DT Juan Rico (82 Ovr)-couldn't find on a roster
RS FR MLB Sinilau Nchami (68 Ovr)-Couldn't find on a roster

          TOP-25 2036 PRE-SEASON POLL

          (Overall/Offense/Defense)

          #1 Ohio State (93/96/92)
          #2 Alabama (91/92/91)
          #3 Notre Dame (91/91/92)
          #4 FIU (90/90/91)
          #5 Oregon (90/92/90)
          #6 Penn State (88/87/89)
          #7 Duke (83/82/85)
          #8 Tennessee (88/90/87)
          #9 Boise State (88/87/89)
          #10 Georgia Tech (86/86/86)
          #11 Miami FL (90/91/90)
          #12 Kansas State (89/89/90)
          #13 LSU (89/89/90)
          #14 TCU (90/89/91)
          #15 Texas (89/89/90)
          #16 Oklahoma (87/87/87)
          #17 Louisville (82/82/82)
          #18 Stanford (80/80/81)
          #19 Arkansas (80/82/80)
          #20 Miss State (84/84/84)
          #21 USC (90/90/90)
          #22 Cincinnati (81/81/81)
          #23 Marshall (82/82/82)
          #24 Rice (80/81/80)
          #25 Virginia Tech (89/89/90)

The Top-10 doesn't really shock anyone as all 10 teams were apart of last year's 12 team playoff..

With FIU, Miami and Georgia Tech now in the SEC, Alabama/LSU/Tennessee will all have a tougher road to the SEC Championship as well as the Playoffs..

Duke appears to be the favorite probably to win the ACC but Louisville moves over from CUSA and joins them in the Top-25 along with Virginia Tech who also has to be considered a favorite, well Marshall now looks to be the favorite in CUSA also starting in the Top-25.

The Big 12 has 4 teams that should battle it out for the title and a playoff spot or too, but with 8 team from the SEC and 6 teams from the Big Ten including 4 in the Top-6 it appears that Ohio State and FIU going to face their toughest road yet in making a repeat run at the Natty.

The biggest surprise isn't who is in the Top-25 but who isn't. Honestly the entire SEC is rate higher then at least 10 teams that made it and why Arkansas who is a 80 Overall is in but Florida (90 Overall) and Georgia (90 Overall) are not confuses me.

            2036 OHIO STATE MEDIA GUIDE

            TEAM SCHEDULE

            Week 1 @ #13 LSU
            Week 2 @ #5 Oregon
            Week 3 vs #16 Oklahoma
            Week 4 @ #6 Penn State
Week 5 vs #3 Notre Dame
            Week 6 @ Minnesota
            Week 7 "Bye"
            Week 8 vs Pitt
            Week 9 "Bye"
            Week 10 vs Nebraska
            Week 11 vs Wisconsin
            Week 12 @ #22 Cincinnati
            Week 13 @ Michigan State
            Week 14 vs Michigan

The Buckeyes quest for a repeat starts with one of the most brutal schedules a team could face as they will play their first 5 games against Top-25 opponents including 3 games on the road including trips to Tiger Stadium, Autzen Stadium and Happy Valley.

The Buckeyes havn't face Michigan in 4 seasons but finally the Wolverines are back on the schedule as they will come to Columbus in Week 14 for "Senior Day".

            THE ROSTER

            Player Overall ()

            QB

JR N. De La Rosa (88)
            RS SR A. Diabate (88)
            RS FR F. Clemson (86)
            RS FR J. Breida (80)
            (R) FR Cory Bears (79)

The Buckeyes return both De La Rosa and Diabate from last season as the duo combined to lead the nation in Passing Yards and Touchdowns. De La Rosa is the favorite to start Week 1 but if he struggles with the hostile crowd at Tiger Stadium, Coach Miller won't hesitate to insert Diabate.. We also could see former 5* Frederick Clemons get some snaps in blowouts as Coach Miller looks to get some eyes on his future signal caller.

            RB/FB

            SR C. McCracken (90)
            RS SR F. Tam (89)
            RS SO V. Te'o (99)
            RS JR J. Britton (86)
            RS FR R. Rouke (81)
            RS FR A. Bortles (79)
            (R) FR D. Pryor (79)
            (R) FR G. Kircus (77)

FB RS SO Lee Dubois (83)

Heisman/Maxwell/Walker Award winner Cameron McCracken returns after a 2000 yd 20 TD season and is joined by fellow SR Frederick Tam who who is coming off back to back seasons of 700+ yd seasons and 24 TD's... For his Career Tam has 67 TD's including 2 in 2032 as a True Freshman.

However the player that people can't stop talking about is RS SO Viliami Te'o who had a huge spring game (Training boost) as he looks ready to push the duo for more then just 63 carries he got last season (356 yds 5.7 avg 5 TD)

            Coach Miller
"Te'o was a rockstar this spring and earned a ton of respect from his teammates with how hard he trained this off-season.... Having 3 of the Best RB's in the nation is a blessing though not a curse.. We have worked very hard installing some new packages that will hopefully allow all 3 players to showcase their abilities to the NFL scouts and keep them fresh and injury free all season"
With the Top-3 spots taken RS JR J. Britton and incoming RS FR R. Rouke and A. Bortles will continue to serve on special teams, well 5* Recruit DeSean Pryor will redshirt along with 4* George Kircus.

Dubois will embrace the FB position as the teams fulltime starter with Kalen Tabor transfering to Kentucky.. Dubois played a huge role last year in paving the way for both McCracken and Tam well also showing he can still run the ball too with 32 carries for 159 yds (5.0 avg).

            WR/TE

            RS JR D. Lowe (93)
            RS SR N. Tull (83)
            RS SO O Riggs (90)
            RS JR G. Cobb (87)
            RS FR C. Spain (86)
            RS SO K. Ahlers (83)
            RS FR N. Pettis (78)
            (R) FR J. Wilbur (80)
            (R) FR B. Pilgram (77)

            SR Joe Trejo (92)
            SR K. Poole (83)
            RS FR B. Cobbs (82)
            RS JR G. Harper (81)
            (R) FR J. Braham (77)

            E. Tandy is gone but the Buckeyes still return (2) 1000 yd receivers in D'Angelo Lowe and Nick Tull. Well Tull isn't as highly rated as some of his fellow WR's he has showed his ability to play above his rating posting 3 straight 1000 yd seasons well averaging 8 TD's per year. 5* Orlando Riggs and Cam Spain are ready to step up and contribute as well.. Both players will also serve as the team's primary Kick and Punt Return.. Spain actually beat D. Lowe in the spring game in a sprint race and is now considered the fastest player on the team (98 SPD/95 ACC/96 COD/93 AGI)

Tulsa transfer Joe Trejo struggled as the teams starting TE recording just 17 rec for 191 yds and 1 TD after posting 33 rec for 489 yds the previous season.

Poole actually had 8 rec for 99 yds and 2 TD last year as TE #2 but look for RS FR Baraka Cobbs to push both players for PT as he is viewed the future..

            RS JR J Haden (89)
            RS JR D. Gore (87)

This unit despite losing 2 starters is still the best in the nation.. 4* Transfer C. Baumann (UNC) moves over from RG to Center giving the Buckeyes all 5 starters as well as their Top-2 reserves all rated 91 or better.

            RS JR C. Small (85)
            RS SO M. Shaw (82)

Another unit that is completely stacked with talent.. There is a reason why opposing teams don't run on the Buckeyes and it all starts up the middle with Talbot who is joined by Carmicheal (Syracuse transfer last season) and LaPorta (transfer from Cincy this season)

With Perez gone, RS SR Mafu Vakapuna is the leading sack leader with 6.5 sacks last season and 16.5 in his career. Look for 4* Transfer Sharkir Hartage to get some looks.. He posted 8 sacks last season for Northern Illinois.

            LB'S

            LOLB
            RS JR P. Rossi (87)
            RS SR R. Selvia (74)

            RS SR S. Hoffman (82)
            (R) B. Holliday (66)

The Buckeyes will have 2 new starters at OLB but Newcombe is a former 5* who should shine. He will join another former 5* in Eric Clemens at MLB who has struggled with injuries but did manage to post 67 Tackles last season.

            DB'S

            CB
            RS FR O. Onwuaor (83)
            FR S. Keliikipi (79)
            FR M. Hargrave (78)

            (R) FR G. Palardy (76)
            (R) FR J. Schaefer (76)
            (R) FR D. Doubs (70)

            FS
            RS FR M. Michaud (83)
            RS SR T, Dinapoli (83)
            RS FR T. Burfict (78)

            SS
            SR G. Robinson (88)
            RS SR P. Schofield (84)
            (R) FR S. Gupta (76)

With their Top-4 CB's all gone to graduation this unit became very young very fast. Former 5* SS Greg Robinson is the veteran leader of the group and will be joined by fellow SR and backup SS Paul Shofield whose 3 career INT's is now 3rd on the team.

Fellow SR Toby Dianpoli started his career at Missouri before transfering to Iowa State the past 2 seasons where he lead the Cyclones with 73 Tackles.

Another former 5* Max Michaud will be asked to step up and play big this season.. Originally recruited as a MLB, Michaud moved to FS last season and will start this year.

            KICKING

            PK-JR Lee Dugans (79)

Dugans connected on 10/14 FG's including a 54 yd long as a Freshman and made 85/86 XPT. Then last season he performed even better hitting 18/23 (78%) including a new career long 55 yds well hitting 70/70 XPT.

            P-FR Denton Herrman (62)
The 3* Recruit takes over Punting duties.. Hopefully he won't be needed very often, but he does have a solid leg (84 KPW)

            RECRUITING PREVIEW

Ohio State has a full roster of 85 players including (19 Seniors, 18 Juniors, 15 Soph's and 33 combined Redshirt/True/Redshirting Freshman)

With several Juniors and even a couple RS Soph's rated high enough to turn Pro early, Coach Miller will most likely look to use 20 Scholarships in season and fill the roster out with transfers to replace underclassman declaring early.

Look for O-Line and D-Line to continue to be the priority on both sides of the ball as well a OLB and SS.

            Coach Miller
"I feel like our Offense is pretty well set for the future but that doesn't mean we won't look at 5* Recruits at QB/RB/WR it just means that should we not sign anyone we won't be pressed to find players capable of stepping up.. I do believe our entire O-Line is more then capable of playing on Sundays and would not be shocked if every starter was gone next season."

**I will have a more indepth look at the Top-25 Big Board and were Ohio State rankes nationally in Recruiting in a later update.**

I will have my phone and will be following other threads as well as have the ability to comment on here but the Jax State Media Guide will have to wait till Monday before getting done.

The Gamecock's are the among the favorites to win the Sun Belt this season (86 Ovr/86 Off/86 Def) but it won't be a walk in the park as South Alabama (85/85/85), Louisiana (84/84/84) and Tulane (82/82/82) are all capable of winning big games. Last season the Green Wave went undefeated snagging the #4 seed in the playoffs and beat #12 seed Georgia Tech to advance to the Semi Finals before falling to Ohio State..

                THE SCHEDULE

Coach Dees said the day he arrived on campus he wanted to play against the big boys (Alabama/Auburn).. However scheduling didn't allow a game against the Tide this season, the Jax State will head to Jordan-Hare in Week 3 to face the Tigers.

                Week 3-@ Auburn

                SPRING GAME

After the Spring Game, Coach Dees allowed several players who wouldn't see playing time to hit the Portal well several others made position changes to see the field earlier and help the team in some areas of weakness.

The biggest name to watch for this season is former QB Jared Yates.. The RS FR from Parker Colorado moved to WR this spring along with another former QB Dalvin Smith and Yates was the star of the spring game vaulting himself to the #1 WR position..

                Coach Dees
"What is perfect about Jordan is he knows how a QB thinks.. He played WR in high school as a Freshman and Sophomore so running routes and taking hits are not new to him and at 6'4 215lbs, He is a matchup nightmare for smaller DB's.. He and Quincy Genus were hitting on all cylinders and I expect we will see big things this year from this duo.
                ROSTER BREAKDOWN

Coach Dees will go into the 2036 season with 80 Scholarship Athletes including 15 Seniors/11 Juniors/27 Sophomores and 27 Freshman (Red/Redshirting).. Giving him 20 open scholarships for next season.. With potential transfers and early entries, Coach Dees will look to take full advantage of his Top-25 Board as he looks to find the talent to take Jax State to the next level.

                Dees
"I am excited.. Coach Valdez and Coach Miller were both great Recruiters and I learned alot from them on how to build a roster and how to make the team a family.. I feel like we have some great veteran experience who have won alot of game but deserve a chance to make the playoffs and win a Sun Belt title and I think we have alot of solid foundation pieces as well to build on for the future, but I am excited to bring in more guy's ready to take his program to that next level not just for a season but to build it into a FIU type Dynasty. Obviously that starts on both sides of the ball but QB/RB/WR will be key targets for me this season as well the D-Line.."

Man... that OSU schedule is going to be a gauntlet. Good luck in the tournament this weekend.

As you said, brutal schedule to open the season, but it definitely lightens up towards the back end. Even if you lose two games in the opening you should be fine as long as you don't slip up later

Excited to see how Dees first season in Jax goes

Because I only glanced over the Jax schedule post. It really isn't a cupcake schedule either. It isn't a Death Valley like schedule that OSU has. But having their bye weeks back to back to start the season? Ouch. Hope they don't get the injury bug. That is going to be a long season. I'm looking forward to it. [emoji23]

Yeah I figure if I can come up 3-2 I will still have a shot at the playoffs but I will pretty much need to win out.. Honestly with Te'o jumping to a 99, I might not throw a pass all season.

Jax State's first 4 games are pretty much the toughest games they will play all season. I wanted to sorta pick a cupcake game for Game 1 so I could get a feel for the team but UTSA is actually a 84 Overall vs my 86, so they are not really a cupcake..

Took 5th place at the tournament.. Went into the last hole with a chance at 3rd but I took a bogey and another guy got a birdie to jump me and then a card that finished 45 minutes after us had a had a guy birdie 4 of the last 6 holes to jump to 3rd knocking me to 5th out of 14.. It was fun though..

OSU schedule is brutal but my offense is pretty loaded.. With All Freshman CB's.its going to be interesting to see how my Pass Defense does especially being how I am also trying to find a pass rush at the same time.

Jax State's scedule is tough. But I think if I can get through the first 4 games at .500 (2-2) I think I could get them ranked high enough to make a playoff push especially if they can pull off a Sun Belt title.

I have struggled with injuries in the past but I feel like I got some good depth pieces..

                            QB

JR Quincy Genus started last season leading the Jax State to 10 wins including a bowl victory throwing for 2783 yds with 25 TD's and 12 INT well completing 61% of his pass's. He also showed his ability to escape the pocket with 345 yds rushing with 1 score.

SR Stephen Penny has never seen a snap and will most likely be the team's #3 QB as Coach Dees looks to see if RS Freshman Vai Fotu can develop into his next starting QB. Fotu doesn't run as good as Genus or Penny but has a strong arm and at 6'2 234lbs is the biggest fo the 3 QB's. Dees also has 3* Terrelle Day redshirting..

Senior Landon Wahl has 366 career carries for 1679 yds (4.6 avg) with 15 TD's.. He will be the primary RB this season well fellow Senior Eric Miranda be will be RB #2 and also at 6'2 228lb most likely the goal line back filling a role similar to Frederick Tam/Tim Trinidad has done in past Miller/Dees Offensive schemes.

                            R. Vaugh and S. Coker provide depth at the position and could push for a starting job next year but odds are Dees will be looking hard at this year's recruiting class for his next star RB.

                            WR/TE

The WR room lost it's Top-4 targets last season and was infused by several players making position changes this Spring as Jared Yates/D. Smith both converted over from QB and Mike Semple left the RB room.

RS SO Rashaud Hendricks is the leading returning receiver with career #'s of 20 rec for 321 yds and 2 TD's. SR Kevin Boger had 5 career receptions but 2 of them went for scores.

JR Greg Kiselak is a true blocking TD who has 6 career catches for 70 yds and 1 score. RS SO Skyler Addison is a 6'5 receiving TE who could help in the passing game..

                            O-LINE

The O-Line not only has a solid starting 5 but also some pretty good younger backups ready to step in.. Both LT D' Proche and RT Barry O'Callaghan will graduate at the end of the season, but Kasheem Felix and Frank Spann as well as Lamar Smalls could start for half the teams in the Sun Belt.

                            D-LINE

Like the O-Line, the D-Line not only has some solid Senior leaders starting but some nice depth pieces ready to step in. SR Robert Hardrick led the team with 8 sacks last season after posting 5.5 in 2034.

                            LINEBACKERS

SR MLB Quandre Singletary posted a career high 75 Tackles last season including 3 TFL and 2 Sacks. He will look to finish his career with another strong year.

Seniors Alex Westbrook and Josh Rudd are 1st year starters in their final season... Coach Deeds will need to find some depth and potential starters at all 3 MLB spots next season.

                            SECONDARY

JR Allen Wooleyhand is a Team Captain and a 2 year starter averaging over 58 tackles the past 2 years. He also has 5 career INT's including 3 last season making him the returning leader in that department.

SR Nick Chunn (Auburn) and SR Deshaun Urbik (Kentucky) will join him as starters as both will look to help solidify this unit that will feature 4 new starters

                            SPECIAL TEAMS

SO Jason Schouman had 62 punts last season for 2744 yds (44.3 avg) including 9 downed inside the 20 yd line and 8 TB's.. He has a strong leg and will look to add FG duties to his resume this season despite the presence of RS SO Marcus Wedington on the roster.

                              GAME RECAP

Ohio State fresh off their 2035 16-0 National Championship win, showed why they are the favorites to beat yet again in 2036..

LSU kept things somewhat close in the 1st half scoring a touchdown in the final seconds to cut the lead to (28-17) but Ohio State in the final seconds out of timeout manages to tack on a 21 yd FG to go into the half up (31-17).

The LSU offense struggled in the 2nd half as JR QB Cameron Ponder throws 2 INT's..

Going into the season with the emergence of Viliami Te'o as RB (led the team with 12 carries), most assumed Ohio State's offense would be built around the run game and well The Buckeyes did rush for 197 yds and score 3 TD's on the ground, JR QB Nick De La Rosa was a huge reason for today's win.. De La Rosa complete 22/27(81%) throwing for 397 yds with 5 TD's well throwing 1 INT.

Despites Te'o career high 12 carries, SR Cameron McCracken showcased Heisman type #'s in Game 1 carrying the ball 10 times 87 yds (8.7 avg) with 1 TD well also adding 5 rec for 79 yds and 1 score.

                              Coach Miller
"I think we probably would've saw a little more of Cam today, but a foot injury was limiting how many carries and how many snaps I wanted him to play.. I was very happy with his production in the passing game and it's my hope that he can be a great outlet for Nick or whoever is at QB"
Coach Miller did putt in backup Abdul Diabate in the 4th Quarter but the Senior threw just 3 pass's including a INT but the Buckeye Defense got it right back picking off backup QB Conner Yeboah in his only pass attempt of the game.

                              UP NEXT

Ohio State will head west as they open up Big Ten play in Eugene in Week 2 as they take on #5 Oregon.. The Ducks opened up their season with a (38-6) win over Memphis.

                              RECRUITING NEWS

Coach Miller landed his first 2 commitments for this year's class getting instant commits from 5* WR Emanuel Murphy (#19 Overall/#3 GA/#2 WR). Murphy is 6'3 202lbs from Alpharetta Georgia.

LSU tried its best to hang, but ran out of gas out of the break. Hopefully De La Rosa learns from last season and keeps the INTs down
