AROUND THE NATION WEEK 5 UPDATE

TOP-25

Going into Week 5 we see several major changes in the Top-25 with 4 Top-10 teams losing this past week as well as 5 more in the Top-16, so major changes happened in the Media Rankings.

#1 (4-0) Ohio State stayed put despite being on a "Bye", the Buckeyes 4-0 start leads many to believe they could be on pace for yet another run at a perfect 12-0 season.

#2 (3-0) Boise State. The Broncos are coming off a 26-17 win over San Diego State but will face a much tougher test in Week 5 as they take on Fresno State. .The Bulldogs had climbed to #6 before their Week 4 loss to Utah State (30-17) and beat the Broncos last year at home but comin off a loss and traveling to "The Blue" might just be to much to overcome.

#3 (3-0) Texas A&M. The Aggies are coming off a 48-20 win over Oklahoma State.. They will take on Top-25 ranked K-State in Week 5 that could be a Big 12 Championship preview.

#4 (3-0) Kentucky. The Wildcats moved from the SEC to the CUSA and build the program into a winner. They then tried to move back to the SEC and failed yet again struggling to go .500 for 2 years before leaving again this time for the ACC, where they once again have found winning ways.. They beat USF (24-17) in Week 4 and will travel to South Carolina in Week 5.

#5 (3-1) FIU.. The Panthers lost in Week 1 but have bounced back to win 3 straight with a (23-20) win over Miss State in Week 4. They will host Top-25 ranked Auburn in Week 5.

#6 (3-0) Coastal Carolina.. The Chanticleers made a major jump in the rankings this week going from #17 to #6 after all the loss's.. They are coming off a 55-0 win over a FCS program but start CUSA this week @ FAU.

#7 (2-2) Georgia Tech.. The Yellow Jackets are the only team I know who moved up in the rankings despite coming off a loss.. They were ranked #9 but lost this past week (31-28) to #23 Tennessee but with all the other loss's in the Top-15, actually moved up 2 spots.

#8 (3-0) Boston College. Like Coastal Carolina.. B.C. made a major jump in the rankings as they go from #18 to #8 after a (45-21) win over Indiana. They will host Vanderbilt in Week 5.

#9 (2-1) Tennessee.. The Vols also made a huge jump from #23 after their win over G.T. Tennessee will play at Clemson in Week 5 before hosting Florida in Week 6.

#10 (3-1) Southern Miss. Another team who wins big by winning. The Eagles moved from #19 to #10 with a (22-17) win over Liberty. They will be on "Bye " in Week 5.

#11 (2-1) Arkansas.. The Razorbacks moved up from #20 with a (45-37) win over Georgia. They will take on Florida this week.. A win for the Gators could be just what it takes for Coach Dees to finally make the rankings.

#12 (3-0) San Jose State.. The Spartans moved from #21 to #12. If they can go undefeated in MWC play they should make the playoffs.

#13 (2-1) UCLA. The Bruins moved from #22 to #13 this week with a 24-20 in over Washington State.. UCLA will head for Corvallis in Week 5 for a matchup with Oregon State.

#14 (3-1) Nebraska. The Corn Huskers moved up 10 spots from #24 with a 24-16 win over Minnesota. They will head to Eugene this week for a matchup with the Oregon Ducks.

#15 (2-1) Rice. The Owls were ranked #7 but lost to Kansas 28-20. They will look to bounce back vs Iowa.

#16 (2-1) Kansas State. The Wildcats were #8 before losing to Texas Tech 27-19.. Can they rebound against #3 TAMU or will they continue to slide.

#17 (2-1) Fresno State. The Bulldogs were #6 but their loss to Utah State was a huge blow to their playoffs hopes and now a trip to Boise could end it.

#18 (1-2) Maryland.. How the Terps are still in the Top-25 with 2 loss's is beyond me.

#19 (3-1) TCU.. The Horn Frogs leap into the rankings after a (44-33) win over Iowa State.. They will host Oklahoma State in Week 5.

#20 (2-2) Notre Dame.. The Irish were ranked #11 before falling 20-10 to Washington. They will look to bounce back as they host Michigan in Week 5.

#21 (3-0) Auburn.. The Tigers were unranked in Week 4 before beating Clemson 36-35. But their stay could be short as they take on #5 FIU on the road in Week 5.

#22 (1-2) Alabama. The Tide were ranked #12 before losing 30-27 to Florida State in Week 4. They will host #25 Miami in Week 5.

#23 (3-1) Louisville. The Cardinals were ranked #15 before losing 35-10 to NC State.. They will look to rebound as they host Virginia Tech in Week 5. The Hokies are currently ranked (#27, 2nd most votes not in the Top-25)

#24 (2-2) Texas. The Long horns were ranked #10 before falling to Tulsa 21-17).. They will look to rebound against Texas Tech who already has a win over a Top-25 team beating K-State last week.

#25 (3-1) Miami. The Hurricanes were #13 before falling 38-35 to Ole Miss. Can they beat Alabama this week or will that be the blow that sends them packing.

#14 Duke and #16 Penn State both lost in Week 4 and dropped out of the Top-25. Duke is currently #26 as they have the most votes.

Ohio State is currently dominating the Heisman Watch..

SR QB Nick De La Rosa despite 7 INT's actually is #1.. He has 1375 yds with 15 TD's (13 Passing, 2 Rushing)

SR RB Ja'Quann Britton is #2 with 54 carries for 522 yds and 4 TD's through the first 4 games. But Britton will miss the next 2 weeks, which will likely drop him from the discussion until his return.

RS JR WR Orlando Riggs is currently #3 despite only 9 receptions this season. Riggs has taken 9 of those to the house for touchdowns and has 315 yds (35.0 avg)

RS SO WR Cam Spain is currently #5.. Spain has 14 receptions and 283 yds with 3 TD.

** Michigan State FR WR Elliot Nester is #4 and the only Non-Buckeye on the list. He has 29 receptions for 415 yds and 2 TD as well as 7 carries for 86 yds and 2 more scores.. Honestly I am not sure why he isn't #2 or even #1.

I am also showed that TCU SO QB Khalid Baker isn't #1.. Baker leads the nation in passing 1421 yds and has thrown 18 TD and 1 INT.

Miami SR QB Cortney Thorpe also should be in the talks.. Thorpe is 2nd in the nation with 1412 yds and has thrown 17 TD's and 0 INT

Also I feel Florida's Adrian Burden should be talked about.. He is a huge reason why the Gators are 3-0 and currently has 72 carries (#2 in the country) for 426 yds (also #2 in the country) and 5 TD's (#4 in the coutnry)

BUCKEYES MAKE IT 5 IN A ROW!!

1ST HALF RECAP

Despite missing RB Ja'quan Britton, Ohio State managed to carve out 74 yds on the ground in the 1st half led by Redshirt Freshman DeSean Pryor who carried the ball 10 times for 64 yds.

Minnesota scored the first and last points of the 1st half with a pair of FG's but Ohio State scored 3 times in the middle as QB Nick De La Rosa toss's 3 touchdowns on the day including a pair to RS FR Joe Wilbur (3 rec 63 yds 2 TD) and also 1 to Orlando Riggs (4 rec 85 yds 1 TD).

SO DE George Oruwariye returned from missing almost 18 weeks and had a great 1st half back recording 3 Tackles including 2 TFL and 2 Sacks.

2ND HALF RECAP

The De La Rosa to Orland Riggs show continued in the 2nd half as the duo connects on a pair of 40+ yd scores as Riggs finishes the day with a team high 6 rec for 166 yds with the Hat Trick (3 TD's).

Minnesota QB Maro Wear would manage to throw a pair of touchdowns in the 2nd half (1 in the 3rd and 1 in the 4th) but Ohio State poured it on in the 4th as De La Rosa hits Gabe Cobb on a 9 yd score and backup Frederick "Freddy" Clemons scores on a 8 yd run.

Clemons played most of the 4th Quarter but attempted just 2 pass's including 1 that turned into a INT.

Ohio State without J. Britton gave D. Pryor a career high 21 carries and he responded with 132 yds (6.2 avg).. Michigan Transfer Nick Alli got his first extended playing time as well as he carries the ball 6 times in the 4th Quarter to finish the day with 10 carries for 57 yds (5.7 avg).

GAME RECAP

Florida won their 4th straight as Coach Dees picks up his first win over a Top-25 ranked SEC opponent moving to 2-0 in SEC play.

Trailing (3-0) at the end of the 1st Quarter and (17-14) at the half after RS SO Kevin Feliciano failed to convert a 39 yd FG to tie the game with 38 seconds to play, Florida would take the lead in the 3rd Quarter on a A. Burden 41 yd touchdown run to make it (21-17). Then it was Arkansas who comes up short missing a 28 yd FG early in the 4th to try and make it a 1 point game. Still leading by 4 points, Florida would manage to get Feliciano another shot and this time from 37 yds out he connects to make it a touchdown lead with 1:12 to play.

Arkansas however down to just 1 timeout run out of time as Florida pulls off what has to be considered a upset.

Burden gets POG honors as he finished with 145 yds on 24 carries and the touchdown.

UP NEXT

Florida will now travel to Knoxville to take on #5 Tennessee in a rivalry matchup.. The Vols are coming off a (31-20) win over Clemson.

We are over 5 weeks into the season and Coach Dees has yet to sign a recruit and this week he lost 4 players on his Top-25 board in fact all 4 were in the Top-10

GAME RECAP

Florida's 4 game win streak comes to a end as #5 Tennessee mounts a 4th Quarter comeback scoring the 2pt conversion with 1:56 to play.

Florida led (14-7) at the end of the 1st Quarter as Florida's SO QB Mike Apple throws a pair of bombs (68 yd to Van Demark and 48 yds to McPherron) but Apple would throw back to back INT's in the 2nd Quarter leaving Florida up just (17-10) at the break.

Backup QB R SSO Baraka Ogundeji would enter the game to start the 2nd hafl but Ogundeji would struggle as he throws a INT on his first pass attempt leading to a Tennessee FG make it (17-13). Florida extended the lead to (20-13) going into the 4th and would extend it again to (27-13) early in the 4th as David Mateo scores on a 2 yd run.

Tennessee fire back though as Marco Paredes hits Rick Claus on a 9 yd score to make it (27-20) with 4:52 to play.

Facing a 4th and 6 Coach Dees was faced with a tough decision and ended up punting the ball late in the game and again Tennessee delivers as Paredes (86 Ovr) hits Roman Hufanga on a 4 yd pass on a 3rd and Goal with 1:56 to play.. Trailing (27-26), Tennessee elects to go for the 2pt conversion and try and win the game in regulation and it pays off as they convert the 2pt play and take the lead (28-27).

Florida still armed with 2 timeouts had a chance to retake the lead but on a 3rd and 8 from the 50, Ojundeji tucks the ball and takes off picking up the 1st down but as he goes to slide the defender knocks the ball lose as Florida recovers.. Coach Dees challenged the fumble hoping his QB's knee was down before the ball popped out, but the Zebra's didn't see it that way.. Out of timeouts now all Florida could do is watch the Vol's kneel out the remaining time.

GAME RECAP

In a Typical rivalry game you can throw out records and after the 52-14 beatdown by the Buckeyes last year you could figure Penn State was coming to town looking for revenge.

But Penn State's season has been a struggle. After winning their opening game over a FCS Program in Week 1, PSU had lost 3 straight including a pair of Big Ten loss's at home to Cincinnati (20-13) and Michigan State (31-28) and now facing the #1 team in the country the nightmare became a reality.. They just are not that good this season.

Scoreless after the 1st Quarter of play, Penn State was held to a pair of FG's as Ohio State dominates the 2nd Quarter scoring 4 touchdowns to take a (28-6) lead. DeSean Pryor got things going with a 2 yd score for his 9th TD of the season and Nick De La Rosa hooked up with Orlando Riggs twice in the final minutes of the half for a pair of touchdowns giving Riggs 9 TD's on the season as well.

Penn State would fail to find the endzone again in the 3rd Quarter settling for a FG to make it (28-9) before Ohio State adds on 2 more scores in the 4th as De La Rosa throws his 4th TD of the game and runs for another..

De La Rosa would be named POG.. For the season De La Rosa now has thrown for 2048 yds with 23 TD and 8 INT well adding 3 rushing TD's as well.

UP NEXT

The Buckeyes will have their 2nd "Bye" Week of the season in Week 7 before hosting (3-3) LSU in a Week 8 non-conference matchup.. Ohio State will return to Big Ten play in Week 9 @ Nebraska.

FIU has taken over the #2 spot in the rankings at the Panthers win their 5th straight improving to 5-1 on the season with a (45-13) win over #4 Georgia Tech in Week 6.. The Panthers will play @ Florida State in Week 7.

Boise State drops to #3 despite a perfect (5-0) record.. The Broncos defeated Fresno State in Week 5 and followed it up with a (35-32) win over Stanford this week.. They will play @ Arizona State in Week 7

Tennessee moves up to #4 after their win over Florida.. Now (4-1) on the year, the Vols will play @ #15 Arkansas in Week 7

K-State is back in the Top-5 at #5 with a (18-17) win over #10 Rice.. The Wildcats are now (4-1) on the season and play @ Colorado State in Week 7

The Tulane Wave are making Waves as they improve to 6-0 on the season. They have yet to play Jacksonville State (currently 4-2)

San Jose State lost to North Texas (33-23) in Week 5 but rebounded with a (34-0) win over Houston in Week 6 as they look to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Coastal Carolina's Top-10 stay was short lived as they fell (37-31) to FAU in Week 5 but they rebounded with a (35-14) win vs Air Force in Week 6 as they took will look to make a playoffs if they can win out.

HEISMAN TALK

Ohio State's Nick De La Rosa and Orlando Riggs are currently #1 and #2 in the Heisman votes, but TCU QB Khalid Baker has taken over #3 well FIU SR QB Faitele Lutui has moved into the #4 spot, with Michigan State FR WR Elliot Nester #5.

Lutui (80 Overall) a 3 year backup to NCAA Record Holder Kevin Pounds was solid in 2036 throwing for 3490 yds with 34 TD and 12 INT well rushing for 3 TD's.. So far this season he is on pace to improve on all of those #'s.. He has thrown for 1415 yds with 10 TD and 2 INT so far this season and has already surpassed his rushing stats with 286 yds and 4 TD's on the ground.

RECRUITING UPDATE

LT Jose Mili (#6 Overall) is still the only Top-10 recruit to have signed. He is joined by fellow 5* RT D Bullocks (#29) and C M. Sturgis (#30) giving the Tide what looks to be one of the most dominating O-Line for the next 3-5 years.

5* MLB Randy LeCounte (#25 Overall) signed with LSU well 5* DT Alex Olvera (#31 Overall) signed with FIU and 5* Athlete (DE) Jose Mauch (#32 Overall) signs with FIU.


Alabama currently has the #1 ranked class with 10 signings (3-5*, 7-4*).

Miami is #2 with 12 signings (8-4*,4-3*)

Louisville is #3 with 10 signings (8-4*, 2-2*)

Tennessee is #4 with 9 signings (8-4*, 1-3*

Ohio State is #5 with 8 signings (2-5*, 5-4*, 1-3*) I will have a more in depth report coming up.

USF is #6 as they now have signed 15 players (10-3*, 5-2*)

Since Matt Miller arrived in Columbus the Ohio State Buckeyes have been dominating Big Ten Opponents.. Miller has lead OSU to 5 straight Big Ten Titles and 3 National Championships in his short tenure.. In 2025 after posting a 40-5 record with 1 Nattty and 3 Big Ten titles, Miller signed a 5 year extension making him one of the highest paid coaches in College Football and now 2 1/2 years later Miller has rewarded the program with 2 more Natty's, 2 more Big Ten titles and a 37-1 record counting the Buckeyes 6-0 start this season.

Miller is currently 168-23 Overall in his career and is has the highest winning % (.880) among active coaches.. He has never had a losing season in 12 years and is 18-1 vs School Rivals and 24-6 in Playoff/Bowl Games. Of his 23 loss's 15 of those have come against teams ranked in the Top-25.

NICK DE LA ROSA

INT's have plagued Nick De La Rosa's career with 63 including 8 this season. However after throwing 56 TD's last season and already on pace for another strong season (23 so far). De La Rosa is well on his way to putting his name in several record books. With 143 and count Passing TD's, De La Rosa already has the Big Ten and Ohio State record and His 13,738 career yards

Can a Heisman/Maxwell and a 3rd National Championship pave his way into the Buckeye Hall of Fame.. I feel like he is already there.

ORLANDO RIGGS

For the past 2 seasons the Buckeyes have lost their #1 WR early to the NFL Draft.. 2 years ago it was Ezekiel Tandy and last season it was D'Angelo Lowe.

This year it will most likely be RS JR Orlando Riggs.. Riggs broke out last year leading the team with 55 rec for 1740 yds well catching 22 TD's.. His 1740 yards were both Big Ten and Ohio State single season records and his 22 TD's tied Notre Dame's Dallas Fasano (2029) for the Big Ten record and set a new Ohio State record.


This season De La Rosa has done a better job of spreading the ball around

RUN GAME

When Ohio State lost it's Top-3 RB's that included 2 time Heisman/Maxwell/Walker Award winner Cameron McCracken and All-time Touchdown leader Fredrick Tam, many assumed their would be a major drop off.

Instead the duo of RS SR Ja'Quan Britton (54 carries 522 yds 4 TD) and RS FR DeSean Pryor (85 carries 409 yds 9 TD) have combined for 931 yds and 13 TD's.. Add in Michigan Transfer Nick Alli's 86 yds and in 6 games Ohio State has a 1000 yd rusher...

OFFENSE

Ohio State is dominating once again leading the nation with 3309 yds well leading the nation in both passing (2156) and rushing (1147) well putting up 52.8 PPG (Also #1)

DEFENSE

The Ohio State Offense isn't the only side of the ball the Buckeyes are dominating.. The OSU Defense currently ranked #2 in the Nation against the Run with 283 yds (48.7 yds per gam) and their 107 points allowed (19.2 PPG) allowed ranks #2 in the Big Ten behind Purdue (106 points allowed)

RECRUITING

Ohio State got off to a hot start signing 5 players in Week 1.. Well they have only added 3 players in the past 2 weeks, they are good ones.

5* QB Eric Russo (#15 Overall/#4 TX/#1 QB) was this year's #1 QB Recruit.. With former 5* Recruit RS SO Freddy Clemons expected to take over for De La Rosa next season. Russo could easily redshirt next year and then backup Clemons for a season before becoming a 3 year starter for the Buckeyes.

5* MLB Johnny Trapp (#8 Overall/#1 MO/#2 MLB) could very well be a Day 1 instant starter for the Buckeyes.. With SR Eric Clemens set to graduate, Ohio State currently has True Freshman Layne Cole (former 4*) #2 on the Depth chart... Cole in 6 games has posted 8 Tackles with 1 TFL.

4* ATH/RB Allen Kelly (#118 Overall/#15 CA/#10 RB) fit's everything Miller loves in a RB.. He is big (6'2 232 lbs) and he is fast (90 Speed/89 ACC)..


Miller

"I know alot of people probably don't think we needed to add another RB to our room but after losing 3 players last year with Te'o leaving early I feel it's better to be prepared then caught with a lack of depth. With Britton and Alli both set to graduate, We will have Pryor and RS Robert Rourke as our Top-2 RB's with George Kircus as the #3/receiving back and current Freshman Xaiver Segal and Quinton Nailor coming off their redshirts.. Kelly can redshirt a season well the rest of the depth chart sorts itself out with potential NFL early entries and transfers."

Well Ohio State did land it's first 2 5* Recruits this season, it also lost 2 in the process. with LT Jose Mili (#6 Overall/Alabama) and 5* ATH/DE Josh Mauch (#32 Overall/FIU)



Miller

"Losing out on Mili is a pretty big blow.. We will lose 8 players from the O-Line his season and were trying to be proactive in rebuilding our line for the future.. Now we will probably need to look at the Transfer Portal as a stop gap until we can land some future starters from the high school ranks.. Losing Mauch doesn't hurt in terms of depth at DE/DT, but as the #2 recruit in Ohio it hurts. Our goal has always been to keep the best of the best Ohio kids here in Ohio and more in Columbus at Ohio State."

With Mili and Murch off the board, and the 8 signings Miller has, there is now 17 players left on the Top-25 Big Board unsigned. Whatever players don't sign will be replaced by potential Transfer additions as Coach Miller doesn't plan on bringing on any more high school recruits at this time.

With Russo and Carneige signed as well as Kelly reports are Ohio State will not recruit another QB or RB for this class.. We are being told with Riggs being NFL bound as well as #3 WR Gary Cobbs set to graduate, Ohio State is targeting 4 WR's including a Trio of 5* Recruits including the #2/#4/#5 WR's in the nation and a 4* in the Top-10

Yeah the Buckeyes just keep rolling.. Florida has been fun so far.. I am not in love with my QB situation which I am about to post, but Burden is a solid workhorse at RB.. However if he goes down, my depth is pretty week. So hopefully we can keep everyone healthy.. Finding a QB is Priority #1 and depth at RB #2.. I like my WR's and I got some decent depth there.. The Defense has been pretty solid I feel like so far and I got decent depth..

I actually don't play Alabama unless we both manage to meet in the SEC title game..

My Divisions are Georgia, Georgia Tech, Clemson, FIU, FSU, Miami and us.

Then Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Miss State and Tennessee

This year we drew Arkansas,LSU, Ole Miss and Tennessee for our out of Division games. I assume Tennessee might be a yearly thing because of the rivalry and possibly the same with LSU.. I would be okay with that and then just rotate Arkansas and the Ole Miss games out and bring in Alabama and Auburn every other year kind of deal, but I don't know what the CPU will do.

FSU is obviously my Week 13 matchup but I am really looking forward to the Miami and FIU games..

DEES LOOKING FOR STABILITY BEHIND CENTER

With last year's backup Greg Leber currently in Fort Collins (Colorado State), Dees went into the season with a QB room who had never attempted a pass in a real game.

Redshirt Sophomore Mike Apple (79 Ovr) won the job after the spring game and has had moments of looking like a starter.. But after 5 games, Apple has 1219 yds passing with 11 TD's and 8 INT's and completing just 58% of his passes..

Florida fans got a glimpse of Redshirt Freshman Trent Cartwright (74 Ovr) against UCF but Cartwrights 2 INT's sent him to the bench and we havn't see him since.

Redshirt Sophomore Baraka Ogundeji (73 Ovr) has played okay in a relief role so far completing 65% of his pass's (13/20) for 174 yds but he has only 1 TD and has turnoved the ball over twice (1 INT and 1 Fumble) including the last drive against Tennessee with the game on the line.


Word is Coach Dees is still undecided on who will start at QB against Ole Miss in Week 7.

With the current depth chart in question reports are Coach Dees has 4 incoming targets on his radar and has plans to try and sign as many as 3 incoming Freshman in this year's Class if needed.. Here is a look at the 4 QB's in the Top-20 Board

4* QB Terrelle Mohamed (#191 Overall/#6 AL/#19 QB)-Alttala Alabama
Mohamed is listed at 6'5 202lbs and is a dual threat QB who could challenge for the starting role should he sign... He currently has Florida #1 but Auburn and Southern Miss are #2/#3 and both are offering.. Mohamed is scheduled to visit in Week 8.

4* QB/ATH Antonie Traore (#264 Overall/#22 FL/#27 QB)-Tallahassee Florida.
Traore is 6'2 202lbs and could very well move to RB should he sign.. Like Mohammed he has Florida #1 and has a Week 12 visit scheduled, but Georgia has just jumped into the race offering a scholarship and could make a push.

4* QB Larry Goldberg (#72 Overall/#10 CA/#7 QB)-Santa Ana CA
"A later addition to the Top-25 board, Goldberg wasn't being heavily recruited so Florida after offering a scholarship jumped straight to #1.. He has a visit scheduled in Week 8 with Mohammed. Goldberg like Mohammed is a dual threat QB listed at 6'3 195lbs.

4* QB KJ Hillman (#240 Overall/#45 TX/#24 QB)-Plano Texas
"Listed at 6'5 209lbs he is bascially a clone of Mohammed.. Like Goldberg he is a late addition and like Goldberg, Florida has jumped quickly to #1 after offering a scholarship. He still has Texas, Alabama and TAMU as well as Ohio State listed in his Top-5 but so far the Gators are his only scholarship offer.

GATORS PICK UP HUGE HOME WIN!!

1ST HALF

Ole Miss won the toss and when the Florida Gators took the field RS SO Baraka Ogundeji was under center making his first career start.

It was a rocky start for the Redshirt Sophomore, as the Gators were forced to punt on their opening drive.. The Gator Defense would hold though getting the ball back. But again the drive would stall forcing Florida to bring out PK Kevin Feliciano for a 42 yd FG to make it (3-0).

Ole Miss now with a chance to take the lead didn't fail as QB Damion Karapates extends the drive twice picking up first downs with his feet before finding Marvin Mahoney on a 22 yd score to make it (7-3).

Florida would take the lead early in the 2nd Quarter as Adrian Burden dives in from 1 yd out on a 3rd and goal to make it (10-7).

Karapates and Mahoney continued to work over the Defense though and 2 minutes later they were in the endzone on a 12 yd score to make it (14-10).

Ogundeji would settle down completing his next 4 pass's but pass #5 finds a Rebel Defender in the endzone as the scoring drive comes to a halt.

The Gator Defense holds Ole Miss to a 39 yd FG though making it (17-10) with 31 seconds to play in the half.

Unfazed by his early INT, Ogundeji fires a bomb down the sideline for SR Matt Van Demark who has a step on the defender and Van Demark does the rest taking it 80 yds for the score as Florida and Ole Miss go into the locker room tied up (17-17).

2ND HALF

Ole Miss started with the ball in the 2nd half but quickly punted, but Florida followed suit doing the same.. The Rebels however didn't fail to put points on the scoreboard on their next try as Karapates throws his 3rd touchdown of the game hitting Ron Hebb from 27 yds out to make it (24-17).

Florida though would answer back as Ojundeji hits TE Arnold Volk on 9 yd score to tie the game (24-24)

Still tied (24-24) going into the 4th, the Gators Defense continued to play strong forcing the Rebels to a punt yet again. but again the Gators Offense fails to capitalize as they miss converting a short 4th and 2..

Ole Miss however struggles to move the ball and instead is forced to try a 49 yd FG but Roderick Doubs kick is wide left.

Florida with 4:03 to play in the game would take the lead a Ogundeji goes back to the well finding TE A. Volk on a 20 yd score to make it (31-24).

Ole Miss despite trailing would punt with 3:12 to play rather then try for it on 4th and 8.. With the lead, Coach Dees looked to ride the ground game to victory but facing a 4th and 3, Dees put the ball into the hands of his QB and Baraka Ogundeji delivered firing a 1 yd strike to Josh Parker as Florida gets the win.

5* DE Alex Uche (#20 Overall/#1 LA/#2 DE) is joining him.. List at 6'3 235 lbs from Jennings LA, Uche is a huge addition to the line.. Uche had scholarships from Georgia, Tulane, TCU and LSU

4* CB Cortez Muti (#442 Overall/#44 FL/#40 CB) is the 3rd to sign.. Listed at 6'0 198lbs from Homestead FL.. Muti had scholarship offers to both Miami and Tulane.

Coach Dees didn't bat 100% this week though as 4* RB Anthony Corr (#90 Overall/#4 PA/#7 RB) has decided to stay close to home signing with Penn State.

The 4 Horseman WR group wasn't the only additions in Week 7.. Miller also landed a huge addition for the O-Lline signing 5* RT Akeem Okeafor (#19 Overall/#1 AZ/#1 RT) from Mesa AZ.. Okeafor had scholarship offers from Oklahoma and Washington with visits scheduled to both schools


With the additions of these 5 players, Ohio State now has 13 commitments and has climbed to #1 in the Rankings with (6-5*, 6-4*, 1-3*) as they continue to build a Dynasty in Columbus.

WEEK 7 AROUND THE NATION UPDATE

We have a new #1.. With Ohio State off on their "Bye" Week voters decided to move FIU coming off a (27-17) win over Florida State to #1 in the rankings dropping the Buckeyes to #2.

It wasn't the only changes to the Top-5, as #4 Tennessee moves to #3 after their (35-27) win over #15 Arkansas.

Boise State drops to #4 despite moving to 6-0 with a (33-20) win over Arizona State.

K-State stays at #5 after their (49-21) win over Colorado State.

#6 Southern Miss falls to Appalachian State (24-23) and with it sees their playoff dreams come to a crashing halt as they drop to #20 with their 2nd loss of the season.

#7 UCLA's playoff dreams are also on life support after losing (17-14) to Cal as the Bruins fall to #15 in the rankings.

#9 Kentucky joins them as they drop to #13 after a (27-10) loss to NC State.

#16 Auburn manages to stay in the Top-25 after dropping it's 2nd game of the season to LSU (21-14) but the same can't be said for #13 Rice, #14 Coastal Carolina #18 Georgia Tech, #22 Alabama and #23 Louisville who all drop from the rankings this week.

Baker has thrown for 2398 yds with 29 TD and 3 INT so far this season well also adding 190 yds and 2 rushing scores.

GATORS DOMINATE YELLOW JACKETS

Florida is making a strong case for some votes in the Top-25 after improving to 6-1 Overall winning their 4th SEC matchup of the season..

1ST HALF

Georgia Tech opened the game with a nice 11 play drive ending with a 1 yd TD run by Eric Brink to make it (7-0) but after that it was all Florida as the Gators score 4 times in the 2nd Quarter including 2 scores in the final minutes of the half as Baraka Ogundeji connects on touchdowns to Jordan McPherron 5 yds with 1:24 to play and Matt Van Demark on a 56 yd bomb with 36 seconds on the clock.

Ogundeji making his 2nd start completed 10/15 (66%) throwing for 229 yds with 3 TD's.

RB Adrian Burden was solid on the ground carrying the ball 10 times for 57 yds (5.7 avg) and True Freshman Devin Boyett scored his first career TD with a nice 4 yd run.

SO WR Josh Parker led Florida with 4 rec for 77 yds and a Touchdown.

2ND HALF

Defense reigned in the 3rd Quarter as both teams fail to add to the scoreboard. Florida would extend their lead to (34-7) early in the 4th with a 33 yd FG by Kevin Feliciano and then a Tyrone Cheridor INT, Ogundeji would tack on 7 more with a 1 yd dive into the endzone to make it (41-7).

Georgia Tech finds the endzone with 3:06 to play in the game as QB Miles Babers hits Cortez Freeman on a 4 yd pass to make it (41-14) but Florida answers right back with another 45 yd FG by Feliciano as Florida rolls to the 30 point victory.

BUCKEYES MAKE IT 7 STRAIGHT!!!

With SR RB Ja'Quann Britton back in the starting lineup and the Buckeyes coming off a Bye, the team looked well rested and ready to attack.

1ST HALF RECAP

Britton showed no ill effects from his injury coming back and scoring 2 1st Quarter touchdowns including a 74 yd run with 4:46 to play as Ohio State takes a early (14-7) lead. LSU would open up the 2nd Quarter with a 45 yd FG to make it (14-10) but Ohio State answers back with a 7 yd TD pass from De La Rosa to Gary Cobb to make it (21-10) with 2:23 to play in the half.

LSU wasted little time finding the endzone though as JR QB Roy Seubert (79 ovr) hits FR Juan Aquino (82) on a 22 yd score to make it (21-17) with 56 seconds to play.

Seubert would end the half 12/15 for 161 yds with the 1 TD.

Still armed with all 3 of their timeouts, Ohio State wasn't going to just kneel out the clock, as De La Rosa steps back and launches a bomb down the sideline to Orlando Riggs who does the rest the rest taking it 76 yds to the house. making it (28-17) at the half.

De La Rosa finished the 1st half 10/13 for 204 yds with 2 TD's. Ja'Quan Britton would finished the half with 10 carries for 103 yds (10.3 avg) and 2 TD's.

2ND HALF

LSU dominated the 3rd Quarter.. The Tigers opening drive went 13 plays before they settled for 23 yd FG to make it (28-20).. Then after forcing Ohio State to a quick 3 and out, LSU ran another double digit drive ending in a 1 yd TD by Jamerson Chartlon.. The Tigers would then go for the 2pt play to tie the game (28-28) with just 36 seconds left in the Quarter.

Ohio State opened up the 4th Quarter scoring as FB Lee Dubois rumbles in from 2 yds out to give Ohio State the lead (35-28).

Somewhere during the 3r Quarter LSU QB Roy Seubert left the game with a injury leaving RS SO Dalvin Bolen (78 Ovr) to take over.. Bolen would play pretty well completing 15/21 for 200 yds but but he would throw a costly INT to FS Max Michaud midway through the 4th that sets up another Ja'Quan Britton TD run as Ohio State extends their lead to (42-28) with 4:23 to play. LSU would then turn the ball over on downs twice as Ohio State tacks on another score as DeSean Pryor scores his 10th Touchdown of the season..

With FIU on their "Bye' the Buckeyes retake the #1 spot in the rankings after the win.. Ohio State now (7-0) Overall and 5-0 in Big Ten play will hit the road for a trip to Lincoln as they take on (4-3) Nebraska.
