So is 16 good with QB AI or no? I'm more confused than I was before lol.

I don't know if at retail QB's played differently, but in this video the ai play is indistinguishable to how they play in 18. In the video Cam has 3 carries for 3 yards.

Madden 16 had the best cpu QB ai of the series....

The scrambler QBs could hurt you running and with proper sliders, cpu and human qbs were not too accurate, it was just right...overthrows and underthrows eapecially the bad to mediocre QBs.

But was that good CPU QB play at release AND after all the patches?

I really think it was Madden 15 where QB's would scramble. I could be wrong though. I just remember playing as the Bears in CFM and having Cam Newton run through me in a playoff game.

EDIT: Went through Mr. Hurriicane's franchise series from Madden 15 and Madden 16 to look at stats and some selection of ai qb play (he tries to play as sim as possible). Cpu QB's like Russell and Kepernick would routinely have 4-5 carries for 20-70 yards.

My memory recalls 15 being an absolute sackfest. That was the one I returned in 3 days flat.

I will test this for sure....and I will also go through the other generic playbooks and check the star ratings etc.

'16 played really well after the final patch for certain. You could tell the difference between higher and lower rates qbs with their accuracy.

Scrambling seems to happen more later in games and after you get pressure and sacks but they certainly aren't statues and I've actually gotten burnt by qbs that have only moderate mobility.

Here is some data. User vs AI from Mr. Hurricane's CFM series' giving a sample comparing Madden 15 AI QB rushing performance per game. These are from user vs ai games and I've listed some sample AI QB rushing totals from his Madden 15 and Madden 16 CFM series.

I even went through a lot of the rushing attempts and the rushing totals in Madden 15 were mostly decent scrambles to escape pressure. Still too many sacks, but there was far more scrambling compared to the investigation into 16. Madden 16 resembled 17 and 18

Anyone got updated rosters for 16??? Id gladly go back to that game if 18 is not fixed by the dev team

That's fine and all but I'd invite anyone that has '16 to play and see the difference for themselves. Not that anything is consistently perfect,we're talking Madden here, but if nothing else the plays where the qb hits the line of scrimmage like a glass wall and chucks it downfield you'll instead see them take off.

Again, not perfect but far from the pocket awareness and movement we've seen since.

It might have been like that before all the patches, but at some point during that cycle I believe the QB's did start hitting the glass wall.

*sigh* I think I'll dig Madden 16 out and give it a test.
