That’s well known. It’s essentially punishing the user for being impatient when they get the handoff. It’s in part to reduce the ability to just use sprint all the time

I play All Pro, never liked All Madden and i adjust the sliders. Biggest thing to me is a competitive game. Ive only played 4 games with 2019 and the first three i couldnt run a lick. Barely ave 1 YPC. The 4th game i adjusted the sliders to 60% for run blocking and i finally had a carry over 10 yards lol. Had a couple, one for 13 and one for 16 with Melvin Gordon. Still in search of a solution to the weak CPU AI game I had an interesting experience. While playing against the Texans, all of there HBs went down with an injury (ridiculous, but I do sometimes see this where all HBs get injured).
This actually may have been a good thing. Prior to this all 3 HBs were averaging less then 3 ypc and making bad decisions and making unnecessary moves in the backfield.
In comes the FB and all of a sudden the CPU has an effective run game! On 6 carries he averaged better then 4 ypc! The starter comes back in and it's back to the same old issues.
On the FB's runs he was running straight through lanes, not trying to make any moves. He hit the holes quickly. I didn't go in and compare player ratings, but I'm thinking that until EA patches a solution, player editing is a must.Comment

Even when I break through the line, the defense is always a step faster. I'm using the Panthers and McCaffrey is getting walked down from behind by LB's.
I don't mind the tougher play at the line, but when I find a seam and break through with a fast RB I shouldn't feel like I have ankle weights on.Comment

Ever since the last patch I'm experiencing a much improved cpu running game. It seems like a couple of drives a game and especially in the 1st qtr, the cpu run game will be totally jacked up, the blocking will blow my team off the field and I'm forced to just do damage control with the user defender. The back moves faster than during the rest of the game and will throw all the crazy strung together spin moves.
The rest of the game it plays like before the patch, thankfully, or I would give up 400 yds a game.Comment

Madden needs to fix defenses being able to stop run while in the dime or quarter defense. No one should be able to consistently stop the run game with three down lineman and the ends in wide 5s or 9s and only two LBS in the box. I understand a few plays but doing that consistantly against primarily run formations, there needs to be some type of penalty against the defense for that.Comment
