The most anticipated mobile game of all time it will be. Seriously my bet is it will be closer to NFL backyard football or maybe NBA Jam for football, a swipe game. This game will be targeted at children not 40 year old dudes who own 2k5. Ask your 8 year old nephew what game he likes, that is the target market not Operation Sports. The NFL wants them some of that Fortnite money I guarantee.

I was so excited to hear this news. This has been the best sports game news in decades. The non simulation is a bummer but I believe there is a way around it. Call it something else create your own genre or whatever. Go with "Authentic football game" but that would be too close to simulation. Just come up with a different term that won't violate EA's exclusive "Simulation Football" rights.
Hell if anything just include the shot meter in NFL 2k. Green releases for perfect passes lol.
I think the casual stuff is just to throw us off. They could probably be talking about the NFL 2k version of Park/Pro am/rec.
Whatever they end up releasing I'm supporting it and buying it Day 1. As long as it's not terrible.Last edited by zello144; 03-10-2020, 10:53 PM.Comment

Re: NFL 2K Coming Back in 2021!!
I seriously doubt this will be anything like WWE Supercard. This is going to be a legit playable game of football.
Now what exactly what it will be, not sure. My guess is NFL Street esque. Which would still be pretty awesome.
Also, this could be a power move by 2K to blow the NFL's doors off with an offer for exclusivity when EA's expires.Last edited by Darth Aegis; 03-10-2020, 10:58 PM.OS needs a Thumbs DOWN button

this is so exciting I've dreamed of this for years! the non simulation thing has me puzzled but I have faith that even if this is not exactly what we hoped for at first, this is the first step down the path to another era of 2k football video game greatness.Comment

I personally don't care if it's called "Mel Brooks/Benny Hill/Dave Chappelle NFL 2K Non-Simulation Football" as long as the NFL and 2K are back together again.
And I don't care if EA is concerned or not.
I've wanted NFL 2K football back for nearly 2 decades and now it's on the way. If it starts out as arcade or non-sim it won't matter much once I see:
The 2K Catch Animations
The 2K Throwing Animations
The 2K Tackling Animations
The 2K Blocking Animations
The 2K LOS Animations...
I can go on and on...just looking at the track record going back to the Sega Dreamcast.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"
Now Playing:
XB1 (Forza Motorsport 6 and Horizon 2)
Switch (Mario Kart and Zelda)
PS3 (old 2k games and the Show)Comment

I'm interested in anything that not simulation football. It has it audience but I guess I'll be in the minority. My hope is the license opens up in a few years. But the most interesting part to me is VP mentioning trying to expand their portfolio is other sports. I think a College football game may be closer to reality than the NFL, especially if the license is renewed for the NFL by EA.GT Agent August

Bottom line EA press release shows nervousness!!! They have not given the public a quality game since ps2 days. They deprived the public of our rights to have a choice to buy something other than their sub par games!!!
Please 2k make it 11 0n 11. No Blitz crap!!

Re: NFL 2K Coming Back in 2021!!
From Darren Rovell
"The NFL announces it has struck a deal with 2K to produce multiple video games in the future. Is this end for Madden? Not necessarily. It just means there will be competition. EA’s deal expires at end of 2021 season. Sources say NFL is talking to others as well."
Thats the first time I seen a concrete time when the EA deal is to expire. I knew the ESPN deal was due to expire around that time. But I do expect them to renew it. Hopefully NFL stops the exclusivity deals

Re: The NFL and 2K Are Back Together, 'Non-Simulation' Games Will Release Beginning i
My guess is that in this situation, simulation means simulating the NFL season, and future season. No one is going to be able to take their favorite NFL team and play the real NFL schedule.
I suspect that this will be a somewhat expanded version of APF 2K8, but with more direct ties to the NFL. It will have some sort of card collectible mode. It should have custom online leagues. It will almost assuredly not have career or franchise play.
But the notion that the game will bear any relation to the even 2K8, let alone 2K5 seems ludicrous. This seems like it will be a new game being built by new people unless I'm missing something in the release. All we really know is that they possibly have access to AAA level resources, but that is not a given.
For me, that's all I really need to want to try out a new 2K football game. Just expand on what they did with 2K8, come up with interesting ways to build teams from all kinds of players from different eras. But I don't have any illusions that this game is going to be anything more than a first-run from a new developer.
I will say that if it is just a re-skin on the old 2K engine, then I will be massively less interested in what they are doing.Comment

Another vector 2K may target is competitive gaming. Think how Rocket League took off in this aspect despite being a pretty ridiculous premise for a sports game. 2K won't have to do anything radical like that but the fact it won't be "sim" makes little difference for this.Comment

You realize that's not only gamey as hell (you're basically manufacturing a false user interaction) and unrealistic, but also the definition of bad officiating, right?
Of all the examples you could have chosen to illustrate EA's opportunities to improve, you chose that one?
Man, I hope that's not the game 2k gives us.Comment

Next Gen is already looking much better. Fight Night(Possibly), NFL 2k, and NCAA sports(Possibly) to go along with the power of these systems.Youtube- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1Y...YHoeFjXQJ2Ps4g
