Maybe "BROKEN" was a little harsh(just my frustration) I think unless people are willing to go into the ratings the next best thing would be to ENABLE the Performance EQ feature..

Many people have different takes on this feature. I personally loved it & for me made 2k5 a much better game.

What's mind-boggling is 2k removing this option from Lobby Games

What about we start work on a good defensive minded slider set and we can start getting more and more people into the custom lobby. I have never played in the custom lobby yet, I play only league games. I remain out of most the lobbies.

Before I get ahead of myself, Is sliders allowed in ONLINE games???? If not then this is a issues that we can't fix. If sliders can be allowed in ONLINE games then we can all get to work on a community Balance slider set to make the defense just as a threat as the offense. By increasing the break block slider we can get more pressure on QB's, By increasing the tackle slider we can limit all the broken tackles. By increasing awarness we can help both the run, blitz, and coverage of the defense.

Now this will HAVE to be a OS group slider set so we all agree on it. I like how LB worded it better. I don't find the defense is "Broken" in anyway and that was what I was trying to say. I think we can improve the defense that is a given, what I was trying to say earlier, is even with the defense now anything can be stopped with the right calls.

But what do you all think of this idea?

Sliders are for offline games only. They've never been allowed online as far as I know for any football game.

Whatever the case if the devs pimp out the defense in next years version I hope serious testing will be done to ensure RB's don't get stuffed for loss of yardage frequently.

One day after Madden 08 was released I posted how nearly 25% of the CPU's plays go backwards. In APF you are always moving forward - you can pound it out or play Air Coryell. I prefer it this way rather than be frustrated all the time facing 2nd and 13.

A perfect sim isn't going to happen - we just need to have a fun game with a "chess match" feel to it. I feel APF has that because I have played this game more than any other football game in years. It just needs a bit of tweaking here and there, and hope they don't over-react and make the D too strong...

Actually in 2k4 they were available. The people I played with we really didn't play around with them in 2k5 to see if they were available. But I do remember they were for 2k4, but not for ranked games.

If I can remember, no. Dunnelly and I tried earlier this year looking to customize the game in the Custom lobby. We couldn't even turn auto-strafe off.

Yes you can. In fact I think you can edit the sliders as well. I know for a fact you can turn auto-strafe off, and can turn multiple hot routes on. I've messed with the settings, and if I can remember correctly you can edit the sliders.

I'll be getting on in an hour and a half. If nobody has posted how to do by then, I'll make it the first thing I do when I log on. I just know you have to go to online desk or something, and go to custom match settings. I can be more precise later.

Then when you are in the custom lobby, the person with the edited settings has to send the challenge, the other user can see the settings and accept. I'm pretty sure you can also edit them from the lobby when you send the challenge.

That's right. Online Desk>Custom Game Settings. The only thing you can't set is Accelerated clock (still haven't figured out how to turn that off yet). Everything is available to set. Pull RT (X360) to set sliders.

I just had a guy run all over me with Rozier and nothing on his Oline. I have Greg Lloyd, Charlie Waters, Lem Barney, Albert Lewis, and Willie Wood. I stay in 4-4 and 4-3 Zones the whole game, and he ran 15 times for 185 yards. Then, we talked for about 15 minutes about how screwed up this games defense is. I may not give 2K more chance if they don't deliver on defense as well. I was a 2k4 and 2k5 head, but they gotta balance this game out to earn my business in the future.

You expected to stop the run with One silver LB, and 4 DB's? You deserve to get trucked on the ground.
