Warner is the fastest QB ever with 50 300 yard passing games, doing it in 113 games to Marino's 176.

Just another bullet in his HOF resume.

          I'd say yes IMO.

            He's going.

He is the Super Bowl's all-time leading passer. That's ahead of Mr. Super Bowl himself, Joe Montana.

All 3 Super Bowls he appeared in went down to the wire and can be considered classics, and he played well in each.

He throws 300 yard games like it's nothing.

He led two franchises that stunk from nothing to Championship contention, and won it once.

His rags to riches story is epic.

Yep, he's going. And when people point out his slump, they need to keep in mind that Mike Martz was his Head Coach during his worst 2 seasons. Mike Martz was an awful Head Coach, and I contend that no one could've been successful long-term under his command (and I use the term "command" loosely).

What most people don't realize is that to put Warner in, you have to keep someone else out. It's not Warner vs. not Hall of Fame, it's Warner vs. Peyton Manning or, more obscurely, Warner vs. Cris Carter. A lot of people would say that Warner would lose those battles.

NCAA: Purdue Boilermakers (FB: 1-11, BB: 15-12), Michigan Wolverines (FB: 7-6, BB: 19-7, H: 15-10-3)

So there's a limit to how many Hall of Famers can be inducted?

Maybe Warner's induction will delay someone else's chances for a year, but I don't see how he'll keep anyone out.

Since Warner is semi-borderline, I think he'll actually open the door to other borderline QBs.

Name the quarterbacks that have retired but aren't eligible yet or who will retire in the next 2-3 years that deserve to be in the HOF over Warner.

                  1. Brett Favre: Yes
                  2. Donovan McNabb: No
                  3. Kerry Collins: No
                  4. Vinny Testaverde: No
                  5. Drew Bledsoe: No
                  6. Steve McNair: No

So, off the top of my head, I can only come up with one QB that deserves to me in the HOF over Warner.

He'll get in and he'll get in easily.

You're just looking at QBs. Some players that may retire around the same time (off the top of my head) include Walter Jones, Jonathon Ogden, Orlando Pace, Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce, Willie Roaf, Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, Marvin Harrison, Jason Taylor, Richard Seymour, Larry Allen, Will Shields, Alan Faneca, Ray Lewis, Michael Strahan, Derrick Brooks, Ronde Barber, Ty Law, Warren Sapp, Curtis Martin, Fred Taylor, Jimmy Smith, Jerome Bettis, and LaDainian Tomlinson.

Now, maybe you say Warner deserves to get in over all of those guys, but that's still a lot of competition for the next ten years. Plus, you have guys that have waited for awhile like Cris Carter and Richard Dent that a lot of people would probably put in over Warner. Personally, I feel like most of the guys I listed above should get in before Warner does.

Warner is one of the greatest stories in NFL history. He is tough not to like and his performances warrant the HOF. He'd be a first round lock if they'd won it all last season.

I like the guy but no. He has had some great years but has not been consistent and that the key.

A receiver is never going to beat out a QB unless he's Jerry Rice so that's not going to happen.

Also, it wouldn't be vs. any of those guys really. It all depends on when you retire and who has eligibility first, that's the true key factor. Warner will likely be eligible way before Manning since he'll probably retire soon.

I think he surpassed borderline a long time ago. When I think borderline I think Ron Jaworski or even more up the line like a Steve McNair.

Warner is a two-time league MVP and was in the hunt for a third last season and had a better year than the guy who won it (Peyton Manning). He's also a Super Bowl champion, Super Bowl MVP, and again the Super Bowl's all-time leading passer. All three of his Super Bowls were classics.

... and oh yeah... he happens to, statisically, be the third highest rated passer in NFL history, and I believe he was actually #1 for some time. He's also #2 all-time in completion percentage (Chad Pennington is #1 believe it or not) and I believe Warner was #1 there for a while, too.

Borderliners don't have those kinds of major bullet points on their resumes. Those are Hall Of Fame lines, and if he doesn't get in there should be a boycott.

Generally QBs beat WRs, yeah. But there hasn't been a QB up for consideration as weak as Warner, yet. Also, it's pretty obvious that the glut of old offensive linemen right now (Jones, Ogden, Pace, Roaf, Allen, Faneca, Hutchinson) all easily have better credentials than Warner. That could hold him back long enough so that he's competing against Manning and Brady. To really be sure, Warner needs some more good seasons before he's any sort of lock.
