The more I look at it the more I can see why others would make a case for him but how you can play in 110 games, starting 85, and have a TD-INT ratio of 182-114 is beyond me, not to mention the fact that he threw more picks (114) then games played (110). I dont hold it against him for having explosive offenses around him as someone still has to make the reads and the throws, its just when there is a small sample of work and only 4 of those 11 years are considered good seasons then I have a tough time electing him to the hall. Now if he comes back and has 2-3 more good seasons, improves his TD-INT ratio, gets his career passing yards over 30,000 and throws atleast 200 TD's then he should get in without a doubt imo.

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
101 starts actually, the chart doesn't have his starts for this year added in.
What's wrong with his TD/INT ratio?
1.33/1 - Elway
1.50/1 - Favre
1.60/1 - Warner
1.70/1 - Brees
2.02/1 - ManningMember of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Canton calling for Mr. Warner - pack your bags cause you're in.
If Kurt Warner is not a Hall of Famer then they need to remove Suzy Kolber's #1 Fan and Dan Fouts because Warner is more deserving than both.Comment

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
Aside from the INT he threw to end the first half, he played a very good game against what is touted as one of the greatest defenses, statistically speaking, in NFL history. I'm not saying they were the best ever, but not many people thought Warner would have that kind of game. 377 yards, 3 td's, around 70%, and just under 9 yards per attempt. That's pretty good.
In defense of the argument that he was benched for two QB's in Manning and Leinart, keep in mind that they were not "normal" rookies coming in. Manning, especially, was not expected to ride the pine for a few years before he played. He was expected to take the Giants to the Super Bowl, and to do it quick. Remember, he was able to throw a fit to go from the Chargers to the Giants and was looked at like a golden child.
Leinart wasn't as magnified a pick as Manning was, but he was a super-stud coming out of college. He was expected to start no later than the second season, but had an equal chance at starting this year with Warner, but Warner beat him out for the job.
It's not like he was beaten out of a starting job by "average" or "normal" picks who were coming into "normal" situations. There were much different expectations and politics involved, especially in the Manning situation.
He gets my vote.Last edited by slimm44; 02-02-2009, 08:46 AM.Acts 2:38. Let the truth be told.

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
Warner has more of a claim to the HOF than players like Gale Sayers and Randal McDaniel.
C'mon.....Randal McDaniel in the HOF?????? What a joke.Comment

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
Are you serious?? Randall McDaniel is without a doubt a Hall of Famer. I guess you just don't know who he is. The man was a 12 time pro bowl, 7 time first team all pro, 90's all decade team, and only missed TWO games in 14 years. The man hold the NFL record for starting in TWELVE STRAIGHT Pro Bowls. How is that not Hall of Fame worthy?? 12 pro bowls in 14 years says it all. He didn't have any years of bad or mediocre play. He was never benched or replaced by anybody. Warner has 3 pro bowls and 2 all pro years. How does that compare??Comment

Your right, I guess Bruce Matthews, Art Shell, and Anthony Munoz don't really deserve it either, huh?

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
Warner should be in. He's got pretty damn solid stats, is a two time recipient of the Walter Payton award, and led two teams that were hapless without him to the Superbowl.
Let me say this: I hate the Minnesota Vikings. I hate them as much as I hate the Green Bay Packers (I'm a huge Lions fan). But, if you are saying that arguably one of the best OG of his era doesn't belong in the NFL Hall of Fame, you're just an idiot. That's just a baffling statement.Comment

My point was that Warner has as much claim to the Hall as McDaniel.
And FYI....the Pro Bowl has been a joke for many years now.Comment

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
Umm ya point?
Chris Carter: 1101 Rec. 13899 yards(6th among recievers) 130 Rec TD
8-time Pro Bowler & 2-time first-team All-Pro
Dont understand what you are saying?
As I stated before, Kurt has had plenty of sucess in his Career. Has a SB ring, a MVP, and went to another SB this year after a great regular season. He should be in.PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os

Re: Kurt Warner, Hall of Fame?
It's funny that we have all these "Kurt Warner better than Peyton Manning?" and "Kurt Warner: Hall of Fame?" threads, when just over 2 years ago, the Kurt Warner threads were like this:
