I'm right there with you. I have taken my NFP App off my home screen same with the NFL app. I am actually not interested in the draft this year. Although as a skins fan we usually don't have a lot going for us in the draft.

I haven't watched NFL-N since the day after the SB!

Usually I'll watch their draft previews and whatnot just to see what the consensus is on the Bills but I can't be bothered this year what with an impending work stoppage.

PFT mentions that it's likely the so-called Gang of Eleven are using that language for leverage against the owners. That said, if the competitive balance of the NFL vanishes, my interest lessens. And I'm a Cowboys fan, presumably one of the teams that would benefit from free reign on owner spending.

Interesting article... kinda confirms what I was suspecting in regards to the salary cap. It's going to be difficult for the players to get more money from the owners as long as there is a salary cap and floor.

Players don't want the draft abolished. But they're going after it as a bargaining chip since the owners abrogated the last CBA, which the players would have agreed to extend.

Players didn't walk out of the job. Instead they're being locked out.

The NFL received an antitrust exemption with the agreement of the CBA. NFL needs a union with which to get this exemption.

It would be unfortunate if the fans turn against the players. Yes they're millionaires in a tough economy, suing the NFL.

But the owners are billionaires who were claiming financial distress from the most lucrative sports league in the country (if not the world) yet decline to prove this distress.

I know that statistic is true, but I wonder how they calculate it? Are they averaging in all the players that barely make the roster for one year and then don't make the cut the following year (As opposed to being injured?) I know it is a brutal game, and careers are shorter than most. But 4 years seems a little misleading.

Pretty sure it is every single player, scrubs included. Otherwise one of the many articles that mention it would have qualified it with criteria.

                  So am I.

I've lost all interest in the NFL aside from Madden news, lol. It's hard for me to even look at NFL Network on the channel guide and I've avoided all NFL-related articles/talk. Hell, I've even avoided this forum for the most part. I'm sure I'll watch the draft the day it goes down, but I've barely even watched the pre-draft buildup this year either. Usually I do.

Almost everything NFL is just "meh" to me right now.

History with work stoppages is that the fans come back, sooner or later.

The way to pressure the owners is to start canceling season tickets. But most teams have waiting lists so season-ticket holders, especially those who paid PSLs, aren't going to do that.

That tells the owners and the players that the fans aren't going anywhere.

I agree. Generally they tend to come back hungrier than ever. One exception that I could think of would be baseball fans in Montreal.

Also a sizable chunk of the Toronto fanbase disappeared. Luckily somehow the Jays have cultivated a younger following these days and there's about about 10-15K diehard fanbase that'll support the team no matter what.

The steroid era ensured this would never happen at my house. Every year I try to get into CFB though, but living in Vegas UNLV doesn't offer much to root for.
