Re: NFL Off Topic
It doesn't have anything to do with this crime. It does have to do with personal conduct and embarrassing the NFL. If he remains the owner, someone is going to go digging to make a career off of him. If this is his first time, then fine get it over with and try to move on. If its not, then he should think twice about just moving on and trying to keep the past from coming out.
Yes I'm betting this isn't his 1st time and he just showed up on a Saturday, liked it so much that he came back before flying to the AFC Championship game. They hugged him.Last edited by p_rushing; 02-25-2019, 08:11 PM.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Different time and crime. While Irsay could have hurt someone, there wasn't a victim. DUI is also somewhat of an accepted crime unfortunately as long as you don't injure someone else.
With the police saying there was no way anyone involved didn't know these women weren't being forced to do this, it makes it completely different. If he wants to fight this, it won't look good. If the video comes out, I don't know if it is recoverable.
It's not always the crime, but the PR impact on the league. Is he causing too many problems for the league? He was out in LA partying for the Oscars. With the shield broken now, someone is going to be digging to find something. If the NFL believes this is it, then he can probably make it through if he removes himself from his public partying.

Like I said, Irsay got pulled with Drugs in his possession and $30K in Cash in a Briefcase, yet no one was calling him the next Walter White or some other Drug Dealer nor digging into his past, when they very easily could and he's still owning the team.#RespectTheCultureComment

You really think a misdemeanor is going to cause him to step away?Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
My understanding is that the video being damning because Kraft said he did absolutely nothing illegal. I don’t think it’s damning in the sense you seem to think.
Supposedly no intercourse took place here. He paid the receptionist, and went to a massage room and had his happy ending. Now if the video shows the act, and I think I read it does, unless the girl comes out with shackles on her feet and he mistreats her I doubt it will be must sell the team material.

Re: NFL Off Topic
I dont think necessarily that he would be FORCED to give up the team by the NFL but I think that public outcry, his age, and a desire to keep his namesake in the best light would push him to step away.

It's why I think people will point to that and then be like "Yes, it's unfortunate that he was caught up in this, but we won't let this define him as a person or change our perspective of him especially with the amount of good work he's done with other issues."
But I am aware that this is only based on if nothing else is found out and it's just this misdemeanor only.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NFL Off Topic
DUI is an accepted crime to who exactly??
Like I said, Irsay got pulled with Drugs in his possession and $30K in Cash in a Briefcase, yet no one was calling him the next Walter White or some other Drug Dealer nor digging into his past, when they very easily could and he's still owning the team.
With Irsay there was no need to dig. Everyone knew he was on drugs and alcohol. It's a different crime also as there were no victims. He did it to himself and his friend druggie also did it to herself. The NFL didn't care as long as he kept his activities private.
I think the NFL should have come down harder on him, maybe they would have if it happened this past year.

The bottom line here is that people are overreacting and reacting to this like kraft was running the show down there. When that clearly isn’t the case.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
The best case for everyone would be for him to just step away. You have a 77 year old with a 39 year old girl friend who needs to go out and do this. He stops in before flying to Kansas City for the AFC Championship. Was his girlfriend there or even traveling with him? You have an old guy hanging out with famous people half his age at parties. We have already seen how this happens in Hollywood. It may be best for everyone if they just walk away and don't open any doors to have peopling looking in closets.
This is so ridiculous.Comment

I’m still trying to figure out what his girlfriends age has to do with anything here. Just baffling stuff being said in here.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Are non patriots fans going to boycott the patriots and not buy tickets or pats gear until Kraft tells them he’s no longer going to own the team?
We’ve already seen how ridiculous some of the public outcry for this is going to be. He’s not going to sell the team because of a few loonies. He will sell the team when he’s unable to take part in the operations. Even then it’s just going to his son.Comment
