    Re: NFL Off Topic 2012

Man, PPM you are my poster of the week with that full game tip. Been watching a lot of ESPNU and I don't like a lot of college football anymore, but I will take full NFL games everyday and twice on Sundays in the off-season. Thanks. About to watch the Niners/Saints playoff game again.

Um, speaking of YouTube (and not to take over the threat, not sure where else this should go), anyone see the completely bizarre video of Robert Kraft with some bikini model? It was removed by Fox before I could watch it but it looks really creepy. It's hard not to have a ton of respect for that man but this video makes me wonder.

On that subject there's also a vid of suspended Saints Head Coach, Sean Payton grind dancing it up, with some random blonde in a Bahamas Night Club. Getting ready to enjoy divorced life.

Looks like Payton called up Gronk for some ideas on how to spend his extended off-season. Maybe his boy Brees will be joining him if they can't work out the deal. ( I keed, I keed)

My dream of seeing Sean Payton star in a bounce video has a bigger chance of happening than I thought.

I'm surprised DJ Williams is only facing a 6 game suspension. Probably would be more if there wasn't a fine schedule for that type of discipline.

“The evidence is clear,” hearing officer Harold Henderson wrote, according to documents obtained by the Denver Post, “that Williams was involved in three separate incidents of attempted substitution of a specimen.”

According to the NFL’s version of events, Williams provided urine samples in August and September that the drug-testing lab concluded were something other than human urine. And in an incident in November, Williams was accused by the specimen collector of having a bottle near his waist while submitting the test, perhaps to pour clean urine from someone else into his sample. Williams then refused to give the tester the bottle.

In that incident, the collector said he saw Williams drop the bottle while submitting his urine sample. According to the collector, Williams then kicked the bottle into an area of the Broncos’ locker room where drug testers were not allowed to go. When the tester asked a trainer to go into the locker room and get the bottle, the trainer and Williams returned from the locker room with a different bottle. (Williams claims the bottle contained something legal that he uses for energy and it fell from his pocket during the test, and that he kicked it into the locker room accidentally.)

              Re: NFL Off Topic 2012

There's going to be another College Basketball game taking place on an aircraft carrier this year between Georgetown and Florida. Buying tickets to that game also forces the person to buy tickets to the Jaguars/Colts game the day before.

According to Hays Carlyon of the Florida Times-Union, ticket packages for the November 9 basketball game start at $1,000. For that amount, the purchaser gets two tickets to the Georgetown-Florida game, two tickets to the Colts-Jaguars game to be played on NFL Network the night before, and four more tickets to the Colts-Jaguars game, which will be donated to military personnel.
So, basically, for every ticket sold to the basketball game, three will be sold to the Colts-Jaguars game. With 5,000 tickets to the basketball game available, that translates to 15,000 tickets to the football game.

Completely random but I just found out that Bill Sheridan is the Buccaneers DC. I feel bad for them man. Guy did nothing in NY at the same post. I can only imagine what the Carolina Newtons and New Orleans Breesus will do to that D.

We've got some officers and lawyers floating around here. Does the fact that these "off duty" police officers were all in uniform and instigating the encounter effect anything here (even if Peterson did end up pushing one)? They weren't paid bouncers and weren't on duty. I'd think it'd be their responsibility to sit back unless a scene was already being caused which definitely wasn't the case here.

A little confused on where it said Officers were instigating the altercation not a shot at you WW I am a little behind on the story and don't know here that was reported.

And yes the uniform does make a difference. We have a strict policy where I work. No off duty work at establishments that serve alcohol. However this maybe different in Houston.

The only reason uniform makes a difference is that it was clear they were officers and AP cannot use the excuse that he did not know they were officers.

I really can't speak for what their job was inside or outside the establishment because I don't know their policies but in many of the places around here bouncers do start pushing people out the door right at closing due to a tough liquor board and the fines for doors not being locked at certain point.

Just like the NFL is doing now all you can do is sit back and wait for courtroom testimony and ruling.

As you know it's hard for me to comment on other departments policies but we have a policy in place that prevents this whole situation because we can't work off duty (inside or out) an establishment that serves alcohol.

I understand. It didn't stay they instigated in that article linked. However, we know bouncers were pushing people out the door at closing time. There's no word on any issue between AP and a bouncer. I would think AP starting something with a bouncer or other person in the bar would be the only reason any officers should get involved. So the only conclusion I can come to is they instigated. They "helped the bouncers do their job" which is why I was asking. Pretty sure that's not allowed everywhere I know (could be different in Houston as you said).

Your last paragraph was what I was getting at, and I think will be the key here.

To be honest when this is all said and done I believe it will never make it to a trial it will be thrown out.

I am impressed with AP coming out and saying he has no problem with the Houston PD just these two officers.

That's one thing a lot of people forget Officers aren't robots. Your interactions with each officer will be different based on situation.

But as I stated before I see this being a non issue as far as criminal charges and NFL action.
