He's good, he's good, though.

This quote is funny.
Bryant obviously has talent, having 63 catches for 928 yards and nine touchdowns last year. But the news today led me back to this comment owner Jerry Jones made in December.
"His maturation over the last two years has been outstanding,” Jones said. “Relative to his habits with meetings, on time, timeliness, preparation and the kinds of things we were concerned about when we drafted him he's made tremendous progress."Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
I don't know the back story, but I know for a fact plenty of people go through family things, this just happened to be called in. He did turn himself in when he found out.
It is horrible but nothing like DUI or carrying guns and threatening others...
EDIT: Ok, so he was in an argument with his brother (siblings argue, I've both had it happen and saw it happen) and pushed his mother, not sure what the argument was about, but I guess this makes him the lowest of all lows. -_-
It's clear however that Dez had a terrible upbringing. His mother doesn't sound like she would ever be a finalist for mother of the year.Last edited by cjonesfan921; 07-17-2012, 11:45 AM.Comment

Yes, it could be. That's the point!

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
For Dez to grow up, he probably needs to cut ties with his dysfunctional family. It seems his family knows his worth now. Any other family and this most likely doesn't even get called in to police.Comment

But that's easier said than done when we're not the one in his shoes....or his sagging *** skinny jeans either.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
I think that's a huge step though.
I still think this is not worth blowing up the way it is about to be. I find it odd it took 'till Monday for a warrant to be issued, and that cops were there on the scene and nothing happened. Seems to be a money issue, no doubt.
EDIT: Unless it's more than a push....at first I read it was a push...Last edited by cjonesfan921; 07-17-2012, 02:50 PM.Comment

With that said, on the "it could be worse" comment... the point is he dropped big time in the draft bc of maturity issues. He was a top 5 pick based on talent alone. No he's not slinging a gun but every single one of these issues points to an extreme immaturity and sense of entitlement which often carries over into work ethic. Is it a coincidence he really hasn't seemed to get any better since his rookie year or how widely reported it was he was struggling with the playbook last year? Maybe, but there's a lot of evidence to there being a correlation. As a football player, I have no doubt those other guys will do work when on the field. My issue with Dez is I don't trust him on the field... don't trust that he'll earn all the money I'd be paying him, and don't trust he'll run the crisp route and/or be in the right place when my QB needs him.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
Was just looking over Atlanta's schedule and forgot the odd schedule that they had. I really don't remember seeing a schedule with no back to back home or away games. Seeing how Atlanta's plays better and home, this could be a good thing. Anyone recall a schedule being like that?
Week 1: @KC
Week 2: DEN
Week 3: @SD
Week 4: CAR
Week 5: @WAS
Week 6: OAK
BYE
Week 8: @PHI
Week 9: DAL
Week 10: @NO
Week 11: ARI
Week 12: @TB
Week 13: NO
Week 14: @CAR
Week 15: NYG
Week 16: @DET
Week 17: TBComment

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
That's not too bad when you take Travel time into consideration.
I can see an issue with the first 3 weeks since they fly out to KC then back home to ATL before flying back across country to San Diego.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
Hey cjonesfan, saw your edit. I heard recently that Dez's mom said "He's not going to keep doing this to me" as if this wasn't the first time either. Definitely wasn't official but don't know why it would be put out there without something like that actually being said.
But I know you don't want to talk about it so I'll leave it alone.Comment
