I have to give it a 4. I still watch it because I enjoy football, but if someone made me give it up completely I'd have no problem.

The game, IMO, is not as good with all the rules slanted towards the offense, the QB's getting the treatment they do, and I prefer to watch running backs then wide receivers/QB's. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy passing…I just want to see some balance restored on offense (more run/pass mix) and in the offense/defense relationship.

          I'd say about a 5-6.

The most excited I was for Football was 2006. When LaDainian Tomlinson was on his record breaking pace for the Rushing TD mark; and yet they somehow managed to fall to the Patriots at Home in a game they could have won so many times; and then for the Colts and Peyton to finally get over the Patriots hump and beat them in the AFC Championship to advance to Peyton's first Super Bowl.

That was when Football was at it's peak enjoyment for me. There just seemed to be riveting story lines all across the league and I was glued to every game I could watch. Over the years it's kind of dropped since then I still enjoy the game. It's my favorite Pro Sport to watch without a doubt, it's just that with some of the rule changes, and the way Officials are inconsistent game to game on penalties like Pass Interference, and Holding is just frustrating. Some teams can get away with murder in the secondary with some Officials, while you flip the channel and they are throwing a flag if the DB puts a finger on the receiver with little effect to the play. Also I think the quality of the product has decreased a little; especially with Inflated contracts; and these sloppy Thursday Night games where teams come in banged up, and mentally exhausted.

Somewhere between a 4-6 any given week.

Then again, I haven't watched the past two Super Bowls. The product on the field is the direct reason for that (between the new REFRULEZ and the actual rule changes.) Also, the games. Take. Forever. Give me a 90-minute soccer broadcast over the NFL broadcasts any day of the week.

Even with baseball I don't complain about length of the game. At least when someone steps out of the batter's box there's commentary and the camera is still on the game in some fashion. In the NFL? Coin toss. 4 minutes of commercials. Kickoff. 4 minutes of commercials. Timeout? Another commercial break. After the next play? TV Timeout.

I'd say overall the last few years I'd put it at a 6.5.

The last few weeks? About a 1. Not just because of Rodgers. I have to watch the North when I can, so I've been treated to Seneca Wallace, Scott Tolzien, Josh McCown, Matt Cassel, and Christian Ponder the last few weeks. Suicide was considered.

#Refrulez are my biggest pet peeve today. Especially when the league will bend over backwards to protect their refs, eliminating any real accountability on the ref's part.

I've watched less football this year than any year in recent memory. I really can't pinpoint why, either.

                    Re: NFL Off Topic

I'd say my enjoyment is somewhere between 4-6.

Look, I like offense as much as the next guy but when the NFL is turning into the Arena League well, there's something wrong. The rules are so slanted towards the offense that it's almost impossible for a defense to get anything done which is why I silently cheer for the Kansas Citys of the world who bring it defensively as much as they can given the way the game is called today.

I mean, I remember a time when a 300 yard passing game was a mark of a very good QB but nowadays a 300 yard passing game is like a 150-250 yard passing game just 15 years ago. I'd also like to see a lot more variety in the game as well as offenses are on the verge of becoming cookie cutter with teams running very similar schemes. Again, say what you want about the Chiefs but I like that they play a more fundamental style of football. Hell, the 49ers IMO were a better TEAM when they accentuated the run more in the scheme. (I realize they run the ball a lot but it seems more improvised this year)

So in short, i'd like to see the rules changed a bit to make it more fair to defenses, better officiating and more variety in the playbooks from different teams.

Bon Jovi supposedly has interest in buying the Bills once they become for sale.

If this was almost any other team, I'm sure NFL fans wouldn't want to see someone like Bon Jovi, or a Canadian company buying a NFL team, but when that team is Buffalo.....they'll be more than happy to see them go.

                          6. I don't love the NFL like I used to. They are systematically legislating 1/3 of the game out. Its becoming harder and harder to play defense and while TDs are fun. I enjoy the occasional defensive struggle. The owners locking out the players. The skyrocketing costs of taking in a live game. The shameful way they have tried to use "security" to make even more money with the clear bag policy. The laughable concussion settlement that left some players w/o any assistance or monetary allotment. Having 13 Thursday Night Games.

Having said that. I am interested in seeing how the new pro bowl format goes. I think the London games are a good idea for teams that would otherwise lose a game to a blackout, but I think its time to expand beyond London. Why not host a game in China. Huge market there they are not taking advantage of.

I still love watching football, but there is a lot about the NFL that I no longer enjoy.

....changing gears here, when was the last time a team won a Super Bowl with a "bad" or "below average" offensive line? Trying to think back but I'm drawing a blank or maybe I'm just overlooking OL play in hindsight.

Idk, making it to the superbowl means you're clicking on all the right cylinders at the perfect time so it maybe hard to notice an atrocious Oline at the time. But I'd argue the Giant's oline in 2011 was horrible. They just turned the corner at the right time. They couldnt block all year and boom, all of a sudden clicked.
