    Re: NFL Off Topic

See we have misinformation going on in here. Looks like a Facebook comments section.

He wasn’t trying to film a commercial. He rightly wanted to film the workout alongside the NFL’s filming. The NFL refused. When he asked that the media be allowed to be present to film since he couldn’t have his own crew film and have copies of the workout, the NFL refused. They asked for the NFL to provide a list of personnel that would be attendance three different times since Tuesday, the NFL said they would send it and then on Thursday when they still hadn’t sent it claimed they never said that. The NFL refused to allow him to sign a standard liability waiver instead opting for an “unusual” one. Everything about this process has been shady as **** by the NFL and the guy rightly tried to protect himself to keep the NFL from controlling the narrative of the workout and being able to not sign him and claim he sucked in the workout with nobody able to prove whether he did or not.

I just re-read the comments in this thread to make sure I wasn't missing anything and still don't see it.

What misinformation was being mentioned here versus what you said? Seems like most of that was all covered?

In your post, you mention the commercial, that was something that was planned based on the original plan but was scrapped with the change. Nike even had to come out and say there weren't there because of the confusion.

The only one thing you said that seems to be a bit off is about the waiver. The NFL claims they gave him the standard waiver but he was the one that sent it back with provisions they didn't approve.

Either way, I don't trust the NFL so that's neither here nor there, but I don't understand what you mean when you say there had been a lot of misinformation here.

Edit: It does appear that I'm wrong and it was the NFL asking for an unusual waiver (per PFT).

The NFL is not going to let the likes of a Kapernick to dictate terms. He's already damaged goods.

Larry Ogunjobi suspension upheld, but additional $10k fine was rescineded by James Thrash.

Garrett and Pouncey appeals heard by Thrash and Derrick Brooks, decisions coming later in the week.

Myles 'the bad guy called me a name so I tried to brain him with his own helmet' Garrett had his suspension upheld.

Pouncey's suspension reduced from 3 games to 2, and additional $35k fine upheld.

Awfully convenient to say he was called a racial slur now. Seems like something he would have mentioned sitting in his locker and talking to the media immediately after the game.

I hope he gets a few extra games next year just for being a lying POS and "going there".

Baker Mayfield said this was news to him also, hadn't heard it from Garrett or anyone else on the team.

Comes across even more like a child making up something to try and rationalize.

Even twitter isn't backing Garrett on this. And they'll back anything.
