In an ideal world, yes you want them to compete and have the better QB win and end up having a good reliable backup. But, I rather fully commit to one and build an offense around them. With a new coach, it's a lot to walk into. I always preferred the idea of building an offense around a QB rather than make him fit into a system.

Is it weird that the terms of Meyer's contract hasn't been revealed? Not how many years, not AAV. Is he just coach for life?

It sounds like the front office wants Wentz to be the guy. If he gets handed the job and struggles you can lose the locker room if you stick with him too long. Problem is you’re going to deal with that as long as you have any half decent backup.

That's why. The second he struggles, the thought would be to pull him. Yeah, in a perfect world, anyone would want him to return to that 2017 MVP form. If I was Front office and above, definitely want him fixed rather than to pay him almost $34 million to play elsewhere. Maybe a potential WR1 like Chase at 6th pick, could help him. He hasn't played with a true bona-fide WR1 since Alshon healthier days(i don't think he has been 100% since he's been on team)

By the way Lurie talked about the transition period and thinking 3-5 years ahead, he's prepared for a rebuild. Eagles definitely have to get younger, especially on defense. Yeah, you don't want to take that cap hit, but do you want to lose with Wentz. I fully expect to lose a lot of games next year. I don't think Carson can develop and lose at the same time at this point of his career.

I thought you were just using some nickname for a Canadian coach, but his last name is actually Canada.

              And he's from Indiana.

He was solid at Pitt imho till he took big money from LSU. Washed out there and was on the Steelers staff this year.

I think that is still the plan. I'm guessing he will be one of the assistants coaches.
"Jaguars defensive staff should be well-stocked. Charlie Strong and Chris Ash are coming aboard. Ravens DL coach Joe Cullen could join them with an elevated (run-game coordinator?) title. And Bob Sutton could be in play as well.

Lots of experience and knowhow in that group."

After watching a lot of the Urban Meyer's analysis on Big noon kickoff, I think he can have success at this level. Really understands the game. He needs a good staff. I think Morris is smart hire because as a former HC, he can lean on him.

Yeah. As an Eagles fan, I thought our spot was least desirable because at least Texans had Watson under contract. But now you have the franchise QB wanting out, no 1st or 2nd round pick, I doubt a good cap situation, the Easterby impact, not many young talent to build around if Watson isn't there.

Watson has a no-trade clause, so he has to agree to destination. Miami has the best package and I doubt he would want to go to Jets. Miami can pretty much offer the picks they got from Houston(1st and 2nd), Tua, and additional 1st and that could get it done . It would be funny that could end up being Watson for Tunsil, Tua, and a 1st

                            What's going on in Houston?

                            Astros caught cheating

Rockets downfall with Westbrook traded, then the Harden fiasco leading to him dealt

Now this stuff with the Texans

What did Vermeil say and if they asked him a question why shouldn't he answer?

I just read it and have absolutely no issue with what Vermeil said.

I think he understands what it takes to be successful in the NFL over Watson, TBH.

I understand that Watson feels "betrayed," but this ain't the NBA & NFL players are rarely involved in front-office/personnel matters.

Get over it and play or sit out until they trade you.
