For 2024, I hope the Lions just modernize the Sanders-era uniforms.

Re: NFL Off Topic
those Barry unis were the best, I can't stand the all grays, they look like pajamas
plus, they should've been silver, they didn't play in the graydome
edit: with the light grays, you couldn't even tell who the home team was, it was like baseball jerseys protected from the sun, while playing in a domeLast edited by l3ulvl; 03-01-2023, 03:38 AM.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

This is rad, depending on the flavor of nerd you are.

How Unreal Engine was used a la (and then some) the way the Mandalorian is produced. They created their own volume, developed/combined a number of camera and production methods.
Can't say I saw much of this stuff this year, don't watch much pre/post-game stuff, but this is neat.

If you're not familiar w/ what I'm talking about or haven't seen The Mandalorian, here's a brief video on that:

Re: NFL Off Topic
I didn't know the AFC/NFC network exclusivity deal was a thing of the past starting this year so thought I would share in case I wasn't the only one.
This is a story from PFT talking about the Jets so I left out most of that part:
Adding to the scheduling intrigue is the fact that, for the first time, all lines between the AFC and NFC package will be obliterated in 2023. CBS is no longer the presumed home of all non-prime-time AFC vs. AFC games and all AFC vs. NFC games, when the AFC team is the visitor.
This year, it’s open season. Bills-Jets at 1:00 p.m. or 4:25 p.m. ET on a Sunday can be given to Fox or CBS. In past years, it would have been a CBS game.
More recently, there have been some cross-flex games. This year, all broadcast partners will be (and probably already are) lobbying for as many Jets games as possible.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Rule change proposals
I don't care for #14 and #16. You're putting the defense in a further disadvantage and you'll likely see way more teams go for it in plus territory. Teams like the Eagles already go for it if it's 45 yards in. But now if the net gain is only going to be 20-25 yards, then I see more teams going for it. With #16, does that mean that players can just call a fair catch on a regular kickoff if it doesn't travel into the end zone and it automatically goes to the 25 yardline. If that's the case, if a team doesn't have a great returner and it doesn't travel to the end zone, I'm just fair catching it most of the time.Attached FilesComment

I'm generally for anything that increases 4th down attempts, so I'm for that and the 4th and 20 onside play proposal.

Re: NFL Off Topic
I don't mind the 4th and 20th. It would rather roll the dice on a 4th and 20 rather than go for the onside kick every time.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
If I was making a rule change proposal to make the onside kick more interesting, I'd say the kicking team needs to spread on the field - 5 outside each hash and 1 between - but the kicker and the tee can set up anywhere along the 35 yard line. So if he wants to set up way to the edge outside the numbers, he can aim to kick towards any point of the 45 and the receiving team has to defend the entire width of the field.Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.Comment

"Broncos continue to do research that began in January on the potential for an upgraded or new stadium."
You know you're getting old (or owners are getting effing greedy) when you get to see the new stadium hustle twice. The place just turned old enough to get a drink last year.Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.Comment
