What a fun game to watch last night. Both QB's looked really good, the defense got better over the course of the game, and there were some explosive offensive plays.

The only big concern I had from last night is Blair Walsh missing a FG and extra point. I'm confident he will work that out prior to the season though.

Cassell and Bridgewater were pretty accurate and efficient. It's been too long since Minnesota has had good QB play consistently. Let's hope this continues.

Everson Giffen and Floyed was looking pretty good as well last game.

Rodney Smith with some nice catches as well.

Overall I'm looking forward to watching this vikings team.

I think it will be beneficial to have Cassel start the season. I'd honestly be fine if Teddy didn't play at all this season, but I have a feeling he will be starting eventually.

Yes it seems very potent. All this without Adrian Peterson in the back field.

Teddy took out a page in the Louisville student paper

Seems like a high character kid. I wanted Manziel just for the media circus. But I'm so happy we took Bridgewater instead.

                    Great day today.

                    Defense was impressive.

                    Patterson is just fantastic.

Offensive line is a little concerning, the run blocking for Adrian wasn't great.

Should be interesting to see what happens in the next week or so with Adrian.

I still think he is the best RB in the game, but maybe cutting ties wouldn't be a horrible thing. I think that by the time he's in the latter years of his deal, it'll be a bad contract, with how fast RBs deteriorate.

I have little to no knowledge of NFL contract rules. What would the cap implications be if we cut Adrian tomorrow?

I don't think so. I mean you seen what happened when we threw some guy asiata into the starting roll. He hasn't showed any signs so far of slowing down at least in the first game.

Any other vikings fan getting sick of the offense going through wright all the time besides me? We barely use Patterson anymore and I'm tired of the "Drops everything over 5 yards" Wright being our main on offense.

It is a little curious how Patterson is not seeing more action. Seemed like after week 1 he was going to be a big part of the offense. I think he ran it once today. Seems like whenever he runs the ball, he gets a solid gain. I think he just needs to get the ball in his hands as much as possible. I'd like to see him touch the ball at least 6-8 times per game on offense.

I believe a big factor of Patterson being eliminated from the games is the loss of Adrian Peterson. When you had to worry about Adrian, you were opening up the middle of the field because the linebackers were forced to wait to see if he was going to get the ball or not.

                              Now, it's not a worry.

Re: Minnesota Vikings Official Team Thread

Posted this in the draft thread but thought I throw it here as well:

With all these defense picks I guess they are banking on Rudolph being healthy, Mike Wallace doing well and Patterson learning more. Also having AD back. My biggest concern isnt having more weapons on Offense (I think there is enough to succeed), its protecting Teddy. Unless they think/see that the Matt Kalil struggles have been ironed out to make him look at the least like he did his rookie season I am not sure why we are not getting Oline.

Well at least Hunter has great tools/abilities to work with and if anyone can break him out it can be Zimmer but I really would like some Oline.

The past Vikings Drafts have been great and I like what we are doing so I am not going to second guess them.

On defense we got Kendricks, Barr and most likely a healthy Greenway as our Linebackers. A pretty good Dline that we tied with 8th most sacks in the league with, Waynes hopefully can be that speedy lock down corner with support from Rhodes and Munnerly with Smith back from injury to help in the back end.

Offense like I said earlier is QB protection. Thats the biggest issue, they can all run block and Teddy has shown he can make plays but we need him on his feet. Dont let the numbers fool anyone, he may have been sacked stat wise not that much but most of those was because Teddy got rid of the ball on jailbreaks. Just me it seems they are banking on AD making defenses lessen pressure on Teddy and Matt Kalil getting back into form.
